nar-cissa-malfoy:
It was all too much. Before Draco, Narcissa lived for these kinds of events. She would spend hours upon hours designing her outfit, meticulously getting ready. But now? It was entirely different. She knew her son was safe and sound. He was with his grandmother safely at home. Narcissa knew how important it was to seem normal at this event. The suspicion surrounding the death of the previous Minister was on everyone’s mind and the last thing she wanted to do was draw suspicion upon her or Lucius. Her smile stayed on as she moved through the crowd. She was every inch the Pureblood wife at a Ministry event. Even she was proud of herself. Though she could use a few minutes of rest. Making her way over to some of the tables set up for the event, she found an empty chair. There was another at the table and she smiled once more. “Do you mind if I join you?”
Her boss had finally given her leave of her duties to enjoy the rest of the event, so Dahim decided to take a seat, gather a few more hors devours and a fresh glass of wine. For now she just people watched, something she has been doing all night, it still felt like work but she could not help herself. She knew she probably looked a little odd, sitting alone with a plate full of food and a giant glass of wine, which wasn’t the norm for Ms. Dahim. She loved parties, she was a social butterfly she loved to have a good time, but for some reason, this evening, she felt tired, hungry, sick, she was not sure how she felt, all she knew she did not want to mingle too much into the crowd.
Narcissa then approached, for a moment she wanted to just get up and walk away without a word, with not fault of Mrs. Malfoy. But she did not want to be rude to the one of the members of a well respected pureblood family. She forced a smile and put on her faux confidence. “Narcissa, It’s good to see you, please, come sit.” she offered a seat “You look very pretty, as usual.”
