Hey, anyone who might still look at this site. This post is important. I’ve joked a lot about hating Pete over the years, before I understood how terrible this situation was. Being an adult now and seeing how often teenage girls are mistreated, especially in music which is often an escape, this has become more troubling to me.

Like the OP, I still love Fall Out Boy. The songs meant something different to me. FOB became important because of the friends I made. When you love something, be it a band or whatever else, it’s important to recognize the faults. It’s important to fight against the wrongs. You can’t love things blindly because that blind love often hurts others. 

If you are a teen girl, I love you and be careful. I know you are told to be careful a lot. Adults are failing you. Instead of fixing their behavior you are told to fix yours. You don’t need to fix anything. But unfortunately you have to be careful. And if you love music understand that your heroes in bands are humans and sometimes humans are terrible. Sometimes grown men take advantage of their power, whether they realize they are doing it or not. Be distrustful of them. Protect your friends. Seek help if you need it. (This is an invitation to reach out to me if you need help.)

Loving something like a band is messy. You don’t know who is behind the music. You can still love the music, but you need to look out for the problems. If you are an adult, do what you can to protect those younger than you. Stand up to what is wrong.

Hello! I was looking at your FOB merch picture for boys of zummer. the pic is a little unclear, especially since a lot of the things are black, but could you tell me if there are any jackets or hoodies?

Mhmm. #3 is a hoodie. #5 is a jacket. I think #60 is a crewneck sweatshirt.

Listen, I mostly make fun of them out of love. They’re my favorite band and I’ve seen them 30+ times. I’m also allowed to be disappointed by their setlists.

As far as this being a fan blog.... I started Drop-a-Heart literally a decade ago when I was a 15 year old child. I don’t have time to run a fan site anymore but didn’t want to let the site die so made it into a tumblr for fun. Probably shouldn’t take me too seriously.

Favorite Fall Out Boy Songs

You may have seen Billboard's best Fall Out Boy songs article. A lot of fans found this list to be pretty meh*. Of course, "best" is a bit subjective. So I had some longtime Fall Out Boy fans vote for their favorites.

"Chicago" got around 70% of the votes so was a definitive winner. Towards the bottom of the list, song votes became close. The top 12 is pretty solid before opinions start to differ more. Fall Out Boy's music has progressed so much that it's not surprising that favorites from later albums don't line up as well.

Longtime Fall Out Boy fans tend to get flak for supposedly only liking Take This To You Grave, but it's a false perception. TTTYG is a favorite – it got many into the band – however there are loved songs from all the albums. Those who took this quiz generally agree that TTTYG, From Under the Cork Tree, Folie a Deux, and Save Rock and Roll are all great albums, Infinity on High is the weakest, but still has some loved songs, and the newest, American Beauty/American Psycho, needs time before solid opinions can form. (Evening Out with Your Girlfriend is notably terrible but still loved for getting things started.)

The jokingly elitist group who took part in this poll have decided this is the CORRECT list and everyone else is wrong. But of course top lists mean little and this represents a small percentage of Fall Out Boy's fans. However, the group of people who took this are fans who have been around a while and spend a lot of money to see the band live. This reveals a bit of what they treasure most, so it would be nice if some of these showed up in the set list more. More on set lists later...
