I really enjoy how Katherine is the one who imposes the most misery onto Abaddon (car seat, nail clipping, no fruit loops) but she is also the one that he follows around like a duckling

Clearly the nine-year old boy part of Abaddon sees Katherine as a safe adult and caretaker. I think the demon part of Abaddon sees Katherine as a reliable superior worthy of his respect. Hence his willingness to attempt "torture" jobs at the hotel
