My affair with Cafe L'affare

New Zealand is rather proud of it's coffee and coffee making skills. Here, coffee is an 'art' rather than a 'fix'. Flat White, the pride and joy of New Zealand, unfortunately doesn't tickle my fancy. Personally I like my coffee kissed with a little chocolate, aka the 'Mocha'.

My addiction began the moment I walked into the Cafe down at College Street. It's like being in Wonderland but with Pinocchio. Oblivious to time and oblivious to people; I fell in love. The aroma is unexplainable. The ambience is my kind of perfection; surrounded by vintage parts of ships, large scale model planes, propellers, copper tubes, grinders and more, this is the epitome of steam-punk coffee.

I'm no connoisseur, but that Mocha, is one of the best I've had. It's a balanced blend of chocolate and coffee. Then again, I could also be swayed by the dark 50% cacao Whittaker's bar on the side, complimentary of course. As stirrers go, this one is definitely on top of my list.
