The longer I live, the more deeply I learn that love — whether we call it friendship or family or romance — is the work of mirroring and magnifying each other’s light. Gentle work. Steadfast work. Life-saving work in those moments when life and shame and sorrow occlude our own light from our view, but there is still a clear-eyed loving person to beam it back. In our best moments, we are that person for another.

i take life seriously when i accidentally tip over my opened, unmade smoothie which then takes me 15 minutes to clean up; when i almost hit low-flying birds on three different occasions driving to work that literally takes me two minutes; or when i hit all green lights for a 6-mile stretch.

#what is it that i need to slow down for? #what am i not grateful for?

"crickety cric cric cric" harmoniously chirps the thousand plus crickets. "hallowed be your songs." I listen to magnificent unison wings echoing your voices throughout the desert fields for everyone to hear. your songs are divine music to my ears that fill the moonlit night air. thank you for your kind healing words, they always leave me contemplating the meaning of life.
