Q: Who's Eca (for real)? A: Eca Orichird (he/they) is my OC created by making an AU of an AU. Originally based on Henry Stickmin, Eca has grown to be more of his own character. He is 27 years old and is terminally grumpy. He was abandoned on an orphanage doorstep as a child, ran away and grew up alone, and now lives in an old warehouse with his two partners roommates, Scarlet and Stickers.
Q: Why is there a daily Eca blog? A: Daily character blogs are usually for popular fandom characters, I just thought it'd be really funny if I made a daily blog for an absolutely obsolete character, aka my oc two times removed from any canon~ It's mostly an irony thing, but also because I doodle him a lot, enough for there to be a daily blog. It's a bit of a passion project now.

Welcome to my ramble zone. I am going to unapologetically and extensively talk about Eca.
Q: How did you come up with Eca? A: Starting at the beginning, I really enjoyed The Henry Stickmin Collection and wanted to make an AU of it, so I made Triple Threat Trade-Off, an AU where Henry, Ellie and Charles all switched roles.
Ellie switches with Henry and becomes the protagonist of the game, Henry switches with Charles and becomes the government pilot, and Charles switches with Ellie and becomes the inmate you meet at the Wall. I love each of them, but we'll be focusing on Henry.
Henry works for the United States Military as a government helicopter pilot, earning him the nickname Ace, derived from Aerial Ace. Ace is my sweet sunshine boy who I adore. He's very trusting, compliant, and loving. He has two moms who love him very much, and he loves his partners Ellie and Charles.
Afterwards I made an OOC AU, where the characters acted out of character, and Ace became Eca, an untrusting, aggressive, and pessimistic idiot. His moms left him on the doorstep of an orphanage, and he would never admit any affections towards Scarlet and Stickers. Originally I hated him, he was a huge asshole with no redeeming qualities, but I developed him and now I think he's a much better character (though he is still an asshole).
So yeah. This is the Triple Threat Trade Off OOC AU.
Q: Do you have a reference for Eca? A: The whole blog is technically an Eca reference, but here you go~
Q: How did Eca get his name? A: From a meta standpoint, Eca's name is just Ace backwards. In universe, Eca's name comes from the empty apple box he was left in on the orphanage step, "Eastern Californian Acres." His last name, Orichird, is a misspelling of Orchard that he wrote on his library card and later kept. It's a bit of a mix of orchid, the flower, and orchard. His full name is pronounced [EH-kah OR-rih-chird].
Q: What's Eca's gender, orientation, and pronouns? A: Eca is genderflux, panromantic, asexual, polyamorous, and uses he/they pronouns.
Q: How old is Eca/When was he born? A: He doesn't know exactly how old he is or when his birthday was. He's assuming he's around 27 and that he was born sometime in December. He doesn't know much else.
Q: Where does Eca live? A: Eca lives in the fictional city of Eclipse, located in North Eastern California. Eclipse gets snow in the winter and hot summers. Eclipse is a relatively large, urban city. When he was very little, he used to live in an orphanage until he ran away. He was swept up onto a bus and taken into Eclipse, where he grew living on the streets. He slept in the attic archives above Eclipse's local library. Then, when he grew up more, he found an abandoned warehouse in an decrepit part of the city, where he lives to this day.
Q: What does Eca like to do? A: Eca likes a lot of things, although he'd never admit it. He enjoys drawing (digital art usually), graffiti (he makes elaborate mural type things in back alleys), playing electric guitar, singing, and looking at bugs. His favorites are ladybugs, and they are one of his soft spots, pun not intended.
Q: Who are Scarlet and Stickers? A: Scarlet is the equivalent of Ellie Rose of the Henry Stickmin Collection, and Stickers is the equivalent of Charles Calvin. These are actually still their names (though I also call them Elise and Sterling if I ever need to give them original names) and their last names remain the same.
Q: How are Scarlet and Stickers different from Ellie and Charles? A: As with the OOC AU, their personalities are also changed. Ellie Rose is usually a badass leader type in the TTTO canon. She takes her role as protagonist very seriously. Meanwhile, Scarlet can be very timid at first, but will be peppy and bubbly once she gets to know you better. She is a follower, not a leader, and she's scared of being a protagonist. TTTO Charles Calvin is an incredibly confident, fun-loving thief who lives for the thrills, and will charm his way out of trouble with a wink, fingergun, and cheerful grin. Stickers, on the other hand, is another shy one. He was forced to mature quickly at a young age in order to take care of himself. He's very nervous, reserved and responsible.

Q: Why is Scarlet named Scarlet? A: In TTTO, Ellie is simply nicknamed off of her hair, colored red. In the OOC AU, Scarlet dyes her hair black to blend in with crowds and because she doesn't want to resemble her parents. Eca gives her the nickname Scarlet from when he first found her bleeding in the snow. (Yes, he saves her.)
Q: Why is Stickers named Stickers? A: In TTTO, Charles is nicknamed after all the stickers on his black headphones, and walls, and basically everything, he loves stickers a lot. Stickers in the OOC au is nicknamed such based on Eca finding him kidnapped with duct tape stuck over his mouth. (Yes, he saves him.)
Q: What is The Nights and the Days? A: The Nights and the Days is the name of the fic I'm writing about Eca, Stickers and Scarlet. It was meant to be a sort of 5+1 fic that grew out of hand. Currently there are 14 chapters in various stages of completion, and it will likely never be published. The answers to the previous two questions are the plot of the first two chapters. It's a story about trust and learning to love and be loved.
Q: What is everyone's color when they talk? A: When speaking in character, Eca is red and uses all lowercase with minimal punctuation ("what the hell do you want?"), Scarlet is green and uses lowercase with a lot of emoticons ("heyaaa :D"), Stickers is purple with proper syntax and occasional pauses ("U-um... hello there...").
Q: What is Sticks and Scorns? A: Sticks and Scorns is the band that Eca, Scarlet and Stickers form. Eca is lead guitarist and singer, Stickers plays bass, and Scarlet has a midi fighter pad and is a backup vocalist. They haven't played for crowds much since Stickers and Scarlet are very socially anxious. The biggest gig they've played for was a library fundraiser concert.
Q: What is Doorstop Baby Blues? A: Doorstop Baby Blues is Sticks and Scorns's first official album. They came out with a few singles first, then Doorstop Baby Blues was their first album, comprised of eight songs, centered on themes of abandonment. They now have an EP called Cross My Heart in the works.
Q: What is the Salty Seas Arc? A: Would you believe this au of an au has another au? It's where Eca is a mermaid, and Scarlet and Stickers are humans who find him. Or, well, he finds them when they're hiding out in a cave during a storm, and begrudgingly reveals himself to aggressively tell them that the cave floods during storms. He escorts them to safety, and then they come back to hang out. It was "temporarily" called Salty Seas since Eca is so salty all the time, and the name just stuck for the mermaid au.
Q: Can I actually commission Eca? A: No, Eca isn't real and you can't commission him. Eca's art style is much better and more developed than mine, so I wouldn't be able to produce work at his caliber of commission art.
Q: What are Eca's ideals and stance on life? A: Eca is a pessimist through and through. His counterpart, Ace, believes that anyone can change for the better if they try and that everyone deserves to be loved. In direct contrast, Eca believes that no one deserves anything. Everyone is always changing for the worse, you shouldn't show vulnerability to anyone, and eventually everyone will leave, so don't get attached.
Q: Where did Eca get his scars? A: When he was young and used to live in the library attic, he was scaling the wall on a stormy night. He's usually really good at climbing the wall, but he fell on this night and got seriously injured. The scratched scar running down his chest is from a piece of metal jutting out from the wall that he uses to climb, the deep scar on his left shoulder is from where he hit a sharp spot on the jagged concrete sidewalk.
He laid there crying for some time. No one helped him since it was late at night. He made his way back to his warehouse and swore off the library for some time.
Q: What are Eca's biggest fears? A: Eca's biggest fears are directly from Ace's specialties, that being heights and vehicles. Heights, specifically, was from the library incident, and he prefers sticking close to the ground. He would never willingly climb somewhere taller if he could help it. Vehicles are from when he ran away from the orphanage. He was accidentally swept up onto a crowded bus, and only managed to get off when he was very far from where he started. He settled down in this new area, but he does not like being in any moving transportation. If he's going somewhere, it's with his own two feet.
Q: What is Eca's most prized possession? A: His sunglasses are the first thing he ever stole, so that's important to him. His most prized possession is his ladybug necklace. The chain is light and thin, and the charm is the size of a quarter. It's a small red and black metal ladybug.
He got it from when he basically lived in the library, and had a lot of time to read. The library was holding a "Read 7 Books in a Week and Get a Prize!" thing, so Eca picked out seven books on bugs and read all of them in less than a day. The librarian handing out prizes noted that he liked bugs and pointed out the ladybug necklace in the little prize box, which he chose. He wore it around his neck for a long time, but at 14, switched to wearing it clipped around his belt loop, dangling at his left leg.
Q: What is Eca's relationship to you? A: Eca hates me, though he hates everyone really. I'm an annoyance to him and also I'm his creator, so I'm just another one of his parents he holds a grudge against. On this blog, he's the only one to know about my existence, and Scarlet and Stickers don't know of me. He calls me JJ, and if he must refer to me to his partners, he calls me their manager, which is technically true. It doesn't help that I call him my stupid baby boy (affectionate). He hates me, I love him very much.
Q: What does the header say? A: The grafitti in the header says "Are you living well (in a living hell?)" (lyrics from "Wake Up, Sunshine" by All Time Low) Then underneath, various phrases read: "Boys Will Be Bugs" (song by cavetown) "Sticks N Scorns" (his band) "Ladybug" (by The Altogether) "Baby Blue Shades" (by Bad Suns) "Scrawny" (by Wallows) and a hint of "Tear in my Heart" (by Twenty One Pilots) along with a doodle of a ladybug in the bottom right corner.
