Hey God,Â
I know it's been a while. Actually, saying a while is probably an understatement. I got wrapped up in the trials and tribulations of my superficial world. For months, I was torn apart and thrown to my knees, but I kept trying to fight my way back up to a stand when I probably should have just sat there and let myself listen to you. I get it now, though, Lord. My ears and heart are open. Please guide me and help me understand your will so that I don't keep trying to satisfy my soul with things that don't really matter at the end of the day. I love you God, and I am humbly yours for the taking.Â
Amen.Â
Psalm 119:34-37
Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees,     that I may follow it to the end.  Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law     and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands,     for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes     and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things;     preserve my life according to your word.
Have a Blessed Wednesday Everyone! -Naeem

I have been having a super rough summer. Life has thrown me a few curveballs and recovering from them has been difficult. Tonight I was driving home from another town by myself and had a bit of a meltdown in my car. I finally just started talking to God out loud. I told him I was lost and hurting and didn't know if I had the strength to handle the upcoming year. I began asking for strength over and over. Immediately after I was finished, a new song came on the radio--"Strong Tower" by Kutless. The lyrics? "You are my strong tower, fortress when I'm weak." I prayed for strength and then listened to a song specifically about God's strength during our times of weakness. It is such a comfort to know that God is my support in life, regardless of the fact that this may have just been a lucky coincidence.
A Confident Woman Is Positive by Joyce Meyer
Being negative and being confident do not go together. Like oil and water, they just donât mix. Being negative opens the door to a lot of problems and disappointments, which fuels the fire for more negativity. Fear is the âdark roomâ where all your negatives are developed. So why not look at the brighter side of life and believe something good is going to happen to you?
Many people, when encouraged to think positively, often reply, âThat is not reality.â But the truth is, positive thinking can change our current reality. God is positiveâitâs the way He is, the way He thinks and the way He encourages us to be. Romans 8:28 says, And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purposeâŚ(NLT). Therefore, being positive is simply a matter of looking at things from Godâs perspective. Itâs keeping our thoughts in line with the truth of His Word.
What kind of thoughts are filling your head? Are they agreeing with Scripture? If they are not, then they didnât originate with God. If you want to fulfill Godâs plan for your life, you will need to learn to think positively so you can become the bold, confident woman God created you to be!
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:30, 31 NIV)
I've been struggling lately with being able to look at myself and see something beautiful. The fact of the matter is that God created me and intentionally placed me in every situation I have ever encountered. The fact that someone has carefully mapped me out, knows my faults, and loves me anyway is extraordinarily beautiful in and of itself. I was wonderfully made by a God whose capacity to love goes beyond my wildest imaginations.
Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:19 that we would understand the exceeding greatness of Godâs power for those who believe. Notice the power is only activated when we believe. That means right now the Creator of the universe is just waiting to release healing, restoration, favor, promotion, abundance. The only catch is that we have to believe.
I think about Mary, the mother of Christ. When she was a teenager, the angel came to her and said, âYouâre going to have a child without knowing a man.â Her first thought was, âThatâs impossible. Thatâs never happened before. That defies the laws of nature.â She said to the angel, âHow can this be?â He answered back, âThe Spirit of the Lord will come on you and cause it to happen.â
I love the way Mary responded. She didnât argue with him. She didnât try to talk herself out of it. She simply said, âBe it unto me even as you have said.â
Has God placed a dream in your heart that seems impossible? If you will choose to believe, then His strength will rise up in you. His ability will supersede your ability, and the greatness of His power will bring to pass every dream and every desire He has placed within you!
âI will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of fleshâ (Ezekiel 36:26, NIV) In life, we all have negative things happen to us. We go through situations that are unfair. I know people who were raised in an unhealthy environment. Their parents had issues, and now itâs making it much more difficult on them.
But here is what Iâve learned: when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He gives you a new heart. In other words, your blood line changes. No longer are you subject to your earthly heritage, you become subject to your heavenly heritage! His spiritual blessing always overrides the curse in the natural realm. When you understand who you are and what God has already done, then no matter what someone else has done, no matter how unfair it was, no matter how you were raised, you wonât get bitter. You wonât live with a chip on your shoulder. You realize that nothing can stop you from fulfilling your God-given destiny!
Today, remember you came from Almighty God. He gave you life. When you choose Him, you are choosing your heavenly heritage of blessing and eternal, abundant life!
A Prayer for Today God in heaven, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus so that I may be saved. Today I surrender every area of my life to You. Have Your way in me; let Your will be done in my life. Thank You for making me new in Jesusâ name. Amen.
God wants you to live with passion! You werenât meant to live a stagnant, ordinary life. You serve an extraordinary God, and you are called to be a reflection of Him.
The truth is, most of life can be very routine. We have to work to keep things fresh. We have to put forth effort to stay passionate about our jobs, relationships, and our walk with the Lord. I believe every day we need to stir ourselves up. Just like the apostle Paul told Timothy, today Iâm telling you to âfan your flame!â In other words, donât let the fire go out. Stay passionate about your life so you can move forward and embrace the dreams God has placed within you!
" The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning" (Lamentations 3:22-23, NLT).
Isnât it good to know that no matter what happened yesterday, no matter what you said, no matter what you did, Godâs mercy is new for you today? Mercy is empowering. It frees us to make the right choices and live in a way that is pleasing to God. We have to always remember that God is not condemning us. Romans tells us that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. God wants to love us and equip us to overcome in this life.
Do you need new mercy today? Receive it by faith. You donât have to beg God to forgive you. He forgives you the first time you ask, but itâs up to you to receive that forgiveness. Open your heart today and receive His mercy. Let Him wash over you with His peace and joy. Then choose to extend that mercy to others. Remember, you are Godâs representative in the earth. As you show His love and character to others, Heâll pour out His blessing upon you and use you in ways you never dreamed!
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, today I choose to receive Your mercy and forgiveness. Thank You for cleansing me of all unrighteousness. Thank You for making me new. I love You and bless Your Holy Name. In Jesusâ Name. Amen.
God is so good.
1/14/14 12:55AM
Dear God, Thank you. I know everything happens in your timing and I am awe-struck by what you are doing in my life. Please watch over all of the incredible people you have placed in my life and help me to stay on track according to your plan. Thank you Lord. Amen
" For I know the plans I have for you,â declares the Lord, âplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).
No matter what may be happening today, God has good things in store for your future! It may not be easy to see now, but God has already lined up a new beginning, new friendships and new opportunities for you.
Maybe youâve experienced some setbacks, but donât make the mistake of expecting the same for your future. Instead, accept Godâs good plan for your life by declaring His truth. As believers, our attitude should be, âEven though the economy is down, Iâm not worried. I know God is going before me, and He has promised He will make rivers in the desert.â Or, âThe medical report may not look good, but I have another report that says God is restoring health unto me. I believe God has already released healing, health and victory in my future.â Or, you may have a child who is not on the right course. In the natural, it seems impossible. But our report should be, âI know God can do the impossible!â
Today, be encouraged and donât give up on your tomorrows. Accept the good plan God has for youâa plan filled with hope, purpose, blessing and increase in every area of your life!
