Random Thoughts on Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5 aka The Bells

This is going to be a quick one. I can’t believe it’s almost over.

Why was Tyrion so invested in saving Jaime AND Cersei? Jaime, ok, I get, but telling him to save Cersei too to start a new life in Pentos…ok.

The vilest villain on the show dies in a loving embrace.

Our new vilest villain was a hero an episode ago.

Jaime and Cersei’s death was anticlimactic. It was also pretty similar to Kit’s final scene in that Pompeii movie.

Varys didn’t even try to hide that he was trying to get Dany usurped

Nice not knowing you Golden Company.

Drogon got stealth mode.

I don’t know about Dany, but I think Drogon will definitely die next week. Ridding the world of dragons has become a priority.

Does Dany have a never-ending supply of Dothraki? I thought they all died at Winterfell.

Cersei not having a plan B seemed off brand.

She was sitting there calmly, everyone surrendered, and then Dany got triggered by some bells…

Why were the Northern soldiers so blood thirsty, you’d think they be tired of fighting by now.

rewrote got s8 ep5

• Dany should have attached Kings landing from the front and taken down the scorpions there

• Yara Greyjoy and her ironborne men should have arrived and defeated Euron at sea and Yara should have got to kill him

• the dothraki, the unsullied and the north men SHOULD NOT HAVE SLAUGHTERED innocents

• Dany should have not burned Kings landing and rather once the bells rang went to the red keep with Jon, Davos and greyworm

• a fight would ensue between greyworm/Jon and the mountain

• the hound and Arya would arrive and take over and Jon/greyworm would follow Dany and cersei who had gone to the throne room

• Arya manages to get the mountain on his knees and the hound decapitates him

• Davos tries to make sure no one dies in the throne room

• dany makes some speech about her long name and her claim to the throne and her destiny (but it’s a well written speech that hits the feels)

• Jon/greyworm fight off Lannister guards to get to cersei to kill her

• Jaime arrives from behind the throne and cersei thinks she is finally saved and that he is going to kill Jon and greyworm for her

• Jaime kills cersei as she sits on the iron throne

• none of the civilians die in Kings landing

• Dany doesn’t go uncharacteristically mad and gets to sit on the throne

• Arya and the hound arrive and Arya thanks him and tells him her list is complete he asks what about him and she says the hound has died but sandor has lived (she goes to marry gendry bless)

• Jaime tells dany of Tyrions plot to get Jaime inside the city and claims Tyrion is the reason cersei died

• Tyrion isn’t executed and stays as hand of the queen

• a council is called between the four remaining houses (Yara Greyjoy, Dany, Sansa and Tyrion - gendry doesn’t want to be involved)

• Sansa and Tyrion create a plan to rebuild the city walls

• Yara goes back to the iron islands and leaves some of her fleet to Kings landing for the armies there

• Jon snow, Davos, Jaime and brienne travel throughout westeros to fix the issues caused by the war
