A 1974 VW Brasilia, in a pretty good state, with original features like the rear lights and rounded bumpers.
A 1975 VW Beetle with a 1300cm³ engine. A little beat up, but still running strong.
A 1997 E36 BMW 328i, with manual shift and a pretty good state, at São Paulo International Airport, Brasil.
Finally I'll post a pickup, this one is a 1986 Ford F1000. This model made some very big success but had the Chevrolet C and D series as a tough competitor. The engine on this one is a 4 cylinder diesel with only 83hp. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
This one is a 1995 Ford Mondeo CLX SW. They were imported in low numbers in this mk1 version and are very rare to find. This one looks freshly abandoned, because it's still clean but the tires are deflated. The wheels are from a 87-92 Ford Escort XR3. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
A pretty good 1990 Fiat Uno CS 1500. This one is in very good condition, with the original stickers on the side and trunk door. The CS was a more expensive and luxurious Uno, specially the one with the 73hp 1.5 engine. The Brazilian Uno has two basic differences to the European, the bonnet is bigger and cover the side fenders because it holds the spare tire, and the rear suspension is just like the Fiat 127/147, with leaf springs instead of coils. Because of that spare tire arrangement, the brazilian Uno has a very good trunk. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
This one is a 1980 Fiat 147, maybe the base model because it doesn't have the L or GL near the logo. It has Fiat Uno wheels and the rest is pretty original. There are some rust problems but nothing a good restoration couldn't deal. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
A 1978 Fiat 147 L. In 1976 Fiat came to Brazil and launched the 147, a different version of the european made 127. The car had good sales and made the path for the Uno in the 1980's. This one is still working strong as we can see with the roof rack. Since it is a L model, it should have the 1050cm³ engine with 55hp. The other engine was a 1300cm³ with almost 70hp. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
A 1979 Passat TS. The TS was a sport version with a 1.6 8v engine and about 76hp. This one has the front of the newer versions from 1983, when the TS became GTS. The wheels are aftermarket ones from the 80's. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
This is a Kia Carens LS 2001. Not that old but looking abandoned and with no engine because of the front height. Another car that must have some very expensive spare parts and the owner gives up on taking care of it. I wonder if the Kia dealers would fix this or deny that they sold it in the past. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
A Daihatsu Charade TX 1994. It is in pretty good shape if we take in consideration that there are no Daihatsu dealerships in Brazil since late 90's. Always good to see a rare car like this in a good condition. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
A very good 1977 VW Brasilia. This car was an all brazilian project launched in 1973 for the domestic market and to substitute the Beetle. It was a great car but for some reason VW ceased its production in 1982, 4 years before the Beetle. It used only the 1600 engine with one or two carburetors and petrol or ethanol versions. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
This 1993 Honda Accord LX is not going to be here a long time. It was abandoned for years and now it was vandalized and people stole some parts. The city hall people put some stickers saying that the owner needs to remove the car from that place or it will be fined in 5.000 dollars when they remove it for him. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
A 1986 Monza SL/E, the version between the SL and Classic. This one is still running and have a good strut, waiting for a restoration. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
A very early model Fiat Tipo. This one is from 1993, the first year they were imported to Brazil. It had a great success basically because at the time the Chevrolet Kadett wasn't that new (launched 1989) and the VW Golf wasn't available yet. The car had a 1.6l engine with 76hp and a single point fuel injection. It was imported until 1996 and built in Brazil until the end of 1997. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
This is a 1969 VW 1600. It was the sedan version of the Beetle and was produced until 1972. In Brazil it is known as Zé do Caixão or in english something like Joe Coffin. The reason for this nickname is that at the time, there was a famous actor/director for trash terror movies known as Zé do Caixão and the form of the car resembled a caixão, or a coffin in english. This one is in very good condition for such rare car. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
A 1989 Ford Del Rey GLX. The Del Rey was developed as a luxury replacement for the Ford Galaxie/Landau in the 1980's, using the Corcel base. It was launched in 1982 and facelifted to this model in 1985. The versions were L, GL, GLX and the top of line Ghia. It is for sale and looks very well restored, with the Ford test approved stickers on the windshield. Found at Ipiranga, São Paulo, December 2014.
