“You’re not fat!”
Me:
So this might sound silly, but what do fasts actually do? Doesn’t it all just go to waste once you start eating normally again?
Not silly at all!!!
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A NUTRITIONIST OR DIETICIAN NOR DO I CLAIM TO BE. THIS INFORMATION IS BASED OFF WHAT I KNOW.
Okay, so a quick run down of fasting
Fasting is the practice of not eating for x amount of time.
Many people who use fasts, use it as a way to clean their body of bad toxins. But, it is more common to use fasting as a method to promote weight loss in the body.
When you’re fasting, your body goes into a process called Ketosis after 12 hours.
Ketosis is a metabolic process where the body starts to break down and burn fat.
At 18 hours, your body is in fat burning mode, this means that it is actively burning fats.
By 24 hours, your cells start to recycle old components and proteins that are linked to illness.
By 48 hours, your growth hormone is up five times as much as it was when you first started your fast.
By 54 hours, your insulin levels has dropped to it’s lowest level since you have started your fast.
By 72 hours, your body starts to break down old cells and replace them with new ones.
They’re are a lot of health benefits that come with fasting, but the amount of time spent fasting is key.
It’s important to remember though that if you do decide to fast, you need to listen to your body. If you start to feel faint or weak, eat something, it’s really okay if you do. It’s also important to stay hydrated as well if you’re fasting for long periods of time.
Also, if you remember to eat in moderation after you fast, it’s not going to go to waste.
Fasting shouldn’t be used as the only method to losing weight. If you want to truly reap the benefits, you have to eat healthy and in moderation when you aren’t fasting and workout.
Fasting is an extra level to losing weight but nobody should depend on it to lose weight.
I hoped this helped some! Thank you for your question as well!
Found this post on Instagram and think it’s a great idea. Stay safe and lose weight!! 😘😘😘
