“It’s been, what, a week and we’re still talking about this? Shouldn’t we focus on class?”
arellefawley:
“I have this aching feeling–like they are hiding something from us.”
“Most likely they are,” Daisy mused, rolling her eyes slightly.
mckissmyass:
“But, don’t you find the danger a little exciting?”
“You’re crazy. That literally sucked.”
bitemelily:
“Oh, no no no no…” Lily came to a complete stop and gripped Daisy’s forearm to prevent her from going any further. “There’s no need for any apologies, Flower. I don’t ever want to hear those words come out of your mouth unless you have actually done something terrible. Which, let’s face it, will probably never happen.” Her grip was released and her arms wrapped securely around her friend’s neck to pull her in for a hug. For a moment she stood there, holding her best friend, until her stomach lurched. The release was so sudden. It was as if all good things had been drained from the air surrounding them and nausea hit her at the same time. Dementors. “Let’s just duck away in this compartment until they pass.” Without awaiting a reply she reached a hand out to open the door, holding it so Daisy could enter first.
Daisy was pulled back as Lily’s hand wrapped around her arm and tugged her to a stop. She kept her eyes trained to the floor, unable to look at her own best friend for fear of bursting into tears, and knotted her fingers together as an almost distraction. Lily’s words warmed her heart, and a small smile reached her lips as she finally brought her eyes to the girls’ face. “S-sorry,” she said, letting out a cheerful chuckle at the irony. “I do feel the need to apologize, though, I completely shut you guys out, and that’s...that’s really sucky.” Shaking her head slightly, she wrapped her arms around Lily and gripped her tightly, relishing in the warmth the hug filled her with, a warmth she hadn’t felt in a long time-until the happiness was cut short with a non-existent scream that rang in Daisy’s ears and made her jerk back. A chill passed through her, and everything was once again drained from her until the nodded her head and ducked into the compartment after Lily. “Merlin I hate dementors,” she sighed, sitting down.
Those who are dead, are not dead They're just living in my HEAD, oh And since I fell for that spell I am living there as well, oh
Oslo, Milan, Las Vegas.
Oslo: What keeps you warm?
“Chocolate-chip cookies. The warm ones, the chewy ones with the softly melted choc-chips, you know? And homemade, too.” She faltered and looked down at her shaking hands before adding, “m-my mothers recipe, actually.”
Milan: How do you think others describe you?
“Exactly how I want them to.”
Las Vegas: Have you ever broken a heart?
“Not…not intentionally.”
dorcasrose:
“My fountain of wisdom needs to stop slacking. The fountain of determination is running dry as well, however.” Dorcas laughed and cocked her head slightly to match Daisy’s, a funny sight to behold she was sure of it. “When do I follow rules? When what black soul I have can be sucked out, honestly.”
“Apologies. Maybe it’s the dementor’s, who says they don’t suck out your better qualities, too?” Daisy smiled and shook her head, chuckling ever so lightly at Dorcas copying her. “You shush about your soul, it’s golden. But okay, I can see your point, I don’t exactly want you to die.” Daisy stood and moved to sit next to her friend, shifting so she could place her head on her shoulder. “Let’s talk, Doe. And not about the dementor’s.”
dorcasrose:
“Daiseeeee. You should know everything.” Dor rolled her eyes at her friend and sighed, leave it to Daisy to not know and tell her to go check. “They told us to stay here.”
“Ah yes, sorry, unfortunately your fountain of wisdom isn’t feeling very wisdom-is today,” she smiled, and this time it felt real. Looking up at her friend, she cocked her head slightly. “Since when do you follow the rules, Doe?”
bitemelily:
A soft, joyous laugh escaped her lips as she heard Daisy response to her violent comment. She hadn’t went further than punching someone for a sly comment made toward one of her friends and an occasional accidental potion spill on the laps of a brute. Her wand was never used for assault unless she was teaching herself self defense on a stump deep into the forest. Yet, she was tempted to on many occasions and often used her title of Prefect to calm herself down because she does something she’d regret. This was one of those moments, but it was Daisy that brought on the mood shift. She had missed the calming effect her best friends had on her. “I missed you so much, Flower. It feels like I haven’t seen you in years”
Lily’s comment brought the smallest of jolts to Daisy’s stomach. She bowed her head slightly and chewed on her bottom lip ( a nervous habit she was almost sure she’d gained from Lily herself ), unsure of what was the wanted response. I missed you too, I thought about you both a lot, I’m so sorry...I’m so sorry. She was sorry. She was more sorry then words could explain, truthfully. All she’d needed wanted during her time away was to see her friends, but she’d never done it. She’d closed in on herself so much she wouldn’t even let her best friends past the wall she’d built up. “...I missed you, too,” she finally said, softly. “I’m so sorry, Lils.”

You have another way, then I’m all ears. Likewise, hence the whole, y’know, no coat thing. You’d think it’d be common logic to install some sort of heating system— Or, y’know, emergency blankets. Or a bonfire. Whatever gets the job done.
Maybe a way that’s just not so melodramatic, is all. Hmm...[she shivers, rubbing her arms]. Yeah, but then, would it actually work? I mean, the power of the dementors and all, would a heating system beat it out?

Oh, how Lily had missed the girl walking side by side with her. It had been far too long since they last saw each other and letters written weren’t the same as physically holding each other as they did in that moment. It saddened her to think that they would be separated into their respective common room dormitories when they reach the castle awaiting them, for a split second she hoped the train would stay halted in the middle of nowhere. “Well, he can bite me right after I hex his ass to next Tuesday… Or give him a stern talking to. Being a prefect and all, I should probably set good examples. Something tells me hexing another student isn’t a good example, even if he was a right prat.” A smug grin took over her lips. “Thank you, my love. I did learn from the best, remember?”
A smile. A big one, splitting across her face and causing crease lines to form on her forehead. She honestly had not smiled liked this in a very long time, and it felt good. Having Lily at her side, all Daisy wanted to do was pull her closer, and her words only made her smile wider and made Daisy’s arms twitch as they wished to just engulf the red-head in a bone-breaking hug. “I like that phrase, you should say stuff like that more often,” Daisy laughed lightly. “Bite me right after I hex his ass to next Tuesday...it’s violent, and yet it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.” She grinned down at Lily and shrugged ever so lightly. “Stern talking to’s are good, too. Especially coming from you. It’s almost as scary as being hexed into next Tuesday, really. I mean, I love you, of course, but honestly. Stern talking to’s the way to go, probably.” Daisy looked down at her and smiled, giving a small, teasing wink. “Oh, of course.”
bitemelily:
When Daisy practically hopped out of her seat Lily held the door open and stepped aside so she wasn’t blocking the exit. Instinctively, due to the fact that she was a true mother lioness to all her friends, she gave the other student a rude glance before rolling her eyes and turning on her heels. The door slammed shut behind them. “Was he bothering you, sweetheart?” Her arm wrapped around the brunette’s waist and head landed upon her shoulder as the two girls walked away from the heinous student. “It would’ve been the great time to perfect my bat bogey hex if he was? It’s rude to pry.”
Daisy had to chuckle at the glance that was thrown at the prying boys way. Merlin, how had she managed to avoid this girl for so long? How had she managed to shut her out for has long as she had? One simple, protective look and Daisy was smiling such a real smile that she hadn’t felt all summer. “The usual. What were you doing last year, Daisy?” She imitated a voice of what sounded like a 5 year old girl. “Why were you so mean? Are you, like...insane? The sort of questions that make me want to rip my brain out just so that I don’t have to hear them, ya know? But,” she shrugged. “Ah, well.” Daisy’s arm fell around Lily’s shoulder and her head fell on the girls’ own. “You're rather good at that spell already, love, what’s this about perfecting?”
I’m falling apart But you think I’m doing just fine
