HEY EVERYBODY! To celebrate 100 followers, I’m going to be giving away these Inuyasha figurines!!!!!!!!!! The Black Haired Inuyasha says Convention Exclusive on it, but I haven’t done much research into it so not sure HOW special it is, but if the box says it’s a special snowflake, then that is what I’m going to assume. This right here is a HUGE red fucking flag. If you’re in a relationship with someone who wants complete control over finances, especially to the point where you don’t even have access to money, this is an attempt to control and isolate. They will use ALL sorts of excuses. “I’m better with money” “You spend too much” “You’re too impulsive” etc. It has nothing to do with looking out for you or money. It’s straight up abuse and will likely lead to worse.

Story time.

Last Christmas I went grocery shopping with my Grandmom and my mom. We ran into someone my Grandmom knows, who had recently lost her husband. About a week after he died, there was a forclosure sign on her door. He had taken all of her money, all of his money, and gambled it away. She had no idea, because she never looked at their accounts. Now she’s living in a little apartment and she had to sell off most of her belongings so she wouldn’t be completely broke.

After we left her, my Grandmom told me this next story. My Grandmom and my granddad have separate accounts and one shared one. They’re each responsible for paying for certain things out of their own accounts, and the shared one is for things like their mortgage. Last year my granddad transferred $2,000 from her account to his because of “cash flow problems.” She had no idea until she called her bank to check her balance. And they informed her of it and she was LIVID. They didn’t get her authorization, and their defense was basically “it’s your husband so we thought it was OK.” My granddad didn’t communicate with her, even though it was her money in her account. He later transferred the money back to her and she worked with her bank to make it so that couldn’t happen again, but still.

She could have easily ended up the same way as her friend. All because their husbands felt they had the right to their money.

Financial abuse needs to be taken seriously and it needs to end.

This misses the really powerful piece of the story: Terry Crews was the one who chose not to do the movie. One of the producers told him, essentially, that he could either do the movie and be drop the sexual assault charges, or continue with the trial and have “troubles”. Terry dropped out because he felt standing against abusers was more important than his film career.

It’s bullshit that he was threatened in the first place, of course, but his response was ballsy. I admire him for it.

Viren made the soilders who decided not to march to Xadia wear this around as a symbol for their "cowardice". But Marcos and the rest of them chose not to fight along side him, because Viren is not their true king. They realize just how villianous he is. They were not deserters. These soldiers are brave and I love them. This will not be known as them being a "weak link," however, it will be known as them breaking away and believing that there can be an end to all of this war.
