Like for a starter!
"A rather pleasant coincidence indeed then, pray tell how do you fair? Did Oghren finally drive you off with all his drinking from the keep? Or was it Velanna and the stick up her ass? How’s Nate-Nathaniel?"
"Oh, I dragged him halfway across the Deep Roads and back; there's little that Oghren can do that surprises me any more," Liaren laughed slightly, "I'm well. And everyone else was well the last time I saw them. How've you been?"
' I can assure you that there is no such thing, I would not be caught dead anywhere near that vile place, I’ve had enough of it for a lifetime ' For a moment he wonders if this might be a dream, but he can’t for the life of him imagine dreaming about being stuck in the mountains with outlaws roaming left and right (he’s had strange dreams, but the day he starts dreaming of bandits he’ll start to question his own sanity) ' So, do share - What brings you to these parts, oh great Hero of Ferelden ?’
"Wonderful. I'd hate to have to go trampling off after a rogue band of darkspawn any time soon."
It amazed her how easily she could fall back into the simple back-and-forth from her early time at Vigil's Keep, and even from her travels during the Blight. Maybe it was a sign that she shouldn't have spent so much time on her own of late.
"My clan is camped near Sundermount. I'm heading to visit them," she explained, "Well, the Keeper's First, anyway. I heard she's been looking into an artefact I found right before I joined the Wardens and I need to talk to her about it."
♞——- “Ah, yes, he did mention your task. It certainly seems worthy of your attentions,” Cullen stepped up beside her, gazing at the bookshelf she was stationed next to. His eyes scanned the spines, attempting topick out anything that seemed relivent to the Wardens or the Blight. “Noble as the cause may be, it certainly hasn’t kept him from slumping around like a stray mabari I’m afraid.”
"You should have tried travelling with him during the Blight. He rather perfected the dejected puppy face," Liaren smiled fondly, "Our last conversation didn't exactly end on the happiest note, even if he understood the need to follow the lead we had as quickly as possible."
”I’m not sure the blame is entirely with her. The Wardens were being manipulated, or so the reports I have read say so.” That’s not to say he agrees with what they did. Far from it, actually. “They were scared, but they could have handled it better instead of running straight to the enemy.”
"Yes, I did hear about Erimond," Lia nodded, "The false Calling wasn't exactly something any of us could have anticipated, and I don't blame her for that. Though listening to the man suggesting demon summoning and blood magic was hardly the answer."
"Perhaps some powdered elfroot and crystal grace, it’ll help take the gamey taste out." Wynne took a pinch of the powder substance and added it to the mixture the herb aroma rising from the heat. "I tried to focus mainly on my vegetable stew, though I must admit the smell was nothing like lamb."
"I'm not so sure the texture was lamb either," Liaren laughed, scratching Lupa behind his ear in the spot that made his stumpy tail thump against the ground.

Kirkwall, Liaren had decided, was a decidedly miserable place.
More than a little worse for wear after running into two gangs of thugs while trying to find the alienage – the Dalish part of her never had become entirely used to finding her way around human cities – and although she had dispatched them rather effectively, she had earned herself what felt like a couple of broken ribs and a nasty cut across her thigh. Perhaps fighting them on her own hadn’t been the best idea. While she was sitting near the docks attempting to bandage her leg, she’d overheard a couple of guards talking in hushed voices about a healer in Darktown. Since she was mostly out of her healing draughts, maybe the healer would be able to patch her up before she sought out Merrill properly. Making her way into the Undercity was a lot harder than she’d anticipated with pain flaring through her leg at every step, but she found the small clinic eventually, a few patients still lingering. Pausing in the doorway to lean against the frame and gather her strength, Liaren’s eyes fell on a figure across the room and she couldn’t help a small laugh as she recognised the healer.
”Well, this is a surprise.”
Oh, how the times have changed…

’ after i get the mental image out of my head, sure. ‘
"Good. So long as you don't think I've completely snapped."
‘ i’ll say. ‘
"If I solemnly swear to try and avoid shooting bandits anywhere below the belt, are you going to still look at me like I've lost my mind?"
‘ you could’ve not shot off his… you know… ‘
"I'll stick to duel wielding next time then. Archery never really was my strong suit."
"Liaren? Maker’s breath is that you? …You haven’t come to drag me back to Vigil’s Keep have you?"
"Yeah, it's me. And no, I've got no intention of dragging you anywhere. I always figured you left for a reason, and I'm no templar. This just happens to be a pleasant coincidence."

She’d fully intended for her trip to Skyhold to be a brief one. Slipping into the keep to talk to Grand Enchanter Fiona, in hopes that the other woman could offer some insight into how she had been ‘cured’ of her Calling. Liaren had planned the whole thing out in almost meticulous detail to ensure she would go as unnoticed as the Hero of Ferelden could. The Inquisition was growing stronger every day, and her own quest was something she needed to see through. However, the Dalish woman had discovered the pilgrimage to Skyhold had become infested with bandits of all kinds, hoping to prey on those seeking the Inquisition’s protection. Taking on one such group, she had managed to take a lightning spell to the head, her light travelling armour not offering as much protection from magic as she would have liked. Liaren had no idea how long she had been unconscious, but waking up in a warm and comfortable bed within what she could only assume was the healing room at Skyhold was distinctly preferable to the countless nights she’d spent only lightly dozing wherever she could so as not to be caught off guard by bandits or creatures. How she had arrived at the Inquisition stronghold was another matter entirely. Carefully sitting up and swinging her legs out of the bed, Lia hissed through her teeth as her head jolted painfully. Creators, she didn’t think she’d had a headache that bad since defeating the Archdemon.

‘ i can’t deny that it made me cringe! ‘
"I could have let him attack us at camp later, if you'd have preferred." (Okay, maybe she's just teasing him a little bit now).
