Steps on soapbox, steps to microphone.
All I have heard from the fandom lately is an unending string of “Come to Baltimore”, or “When is the album coming out!”. I think you guys aren’t getting the point and aren’t supporting Dalton in the way he needs to right now. He’s about to embark on a new tour this weekend. A tour that HASN"T SOLD OUT ONE SHOW! Not even eat and greets.
Instead of telling him to “Come to Connecticut” or “I’ll come to your show once you release your album”. I would take a long look at what it means to be a professional musician today. If Dalton does not sell a lot of tickets to a particular show at a particular location, he won’t return to that location, let alone come to anywhere close by. If you want him to come to book a show in Myrtle Beach, SC you should drive to the Atlanta, GA show and bring a carload of your friends and buy eat and greet/meet and greet tickets. If you want him to come to San Francisco, you need to be trucking you and your family to Los Angeles and jamming out all night. YOU ALL NEED TO GO TO THE CLOSEST SHOW!
If you actually live in the area where the show is, you need to be bringing every friend to the show, invite your bio lab partner even! Help make up for all those people who live in North Dakota and can’t get to a show without driving for 24 hours.
If you want him to have another full band tour, and you appreciate him as a musician, you need to go to his shows. There is no other way that he will be able to continue the profession that he wants to have for the rest of his life. If you want him to release an album, you need to buy his merch and support his tours. If we don’t step up, there will not be another tour. There will not be an album.
Personally, I have bought tickets and meet and greet and eat and greet tickets for shows that I haven’t even used. In 2016, I traveled over 115 hours by car and attended 11 shows to watch Dalton. I paid for and stood in silly meet and greet lines and eat and greet lines at a majority of them, because I knew that giving him my $150 was supporting his career and meant that he could come back again. I honestly do not need another picture of him and I together, but that’s not why I did it. At some shows, I brought friends and family and paid for their tickets.
If you have the funds and availability, consider traveling to a show. Consider adding another meet and greet pass to your package. Please support Dalton, so he can keep singing for us.
If you think this is important, please share this post in your group chats and your other social networks so that the people who don’t follow my tumblr will get the message.
I implore you to support Dalton today, not tomorrow.
Thank you for your time,
Hope-Per-Dalton (Hilary)
