“Did you hear about Joey Chestnut?” they asked, raising an eyebrow. “He ate seventy four hotdogs earlier today. Which might seem gross, but… it also sounds perfect right now, because I’m starving.”
“I personally never know how he does that without causing an injury. Must be some extreme eating training, but now that you mention it... I could really go for a hot dog. Just not seventy four.”

“So you didn’t like it because it was too planned. You know what.” Claire nodded now like she finally understood. “I get it. You just need to kiss her. It’s time, I think. Normally I’d say don’t rush it, but you’re both so shy. If you don’t break the touch barrier now you probably never will.”
“No that’s --” Dalton wondered if there was any point in interjecting. “Kiss her, what? Wait... what just happened?”

“The bar?” Claire narrowed her eyes. “What was special about the bar? And do not say it was because you got turned on.”
“Oh my gosh. Of course not.” Dalton leaned his head down as he rubbed his hand against the back of his neck. “I don’t know. It just felt spontaneous, and like a rush.”

Austin raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Really? Damn. You can just wear fake ones, you know. But as my bee friends would say, that’s kind of,” he raised his hand to do airquotes. “’Extra.’”
“Yeah, for sure. I think they look cool.” Dalton said before letting out a laugh. “And nobody wants to be known as extra. Although that’s not a bad idea. I think I’d just wind up feeling like an imposter, is that weird? I could add I don’t know much about fashion either.”

“You don’t sound very sure,” she frowned. “Dalton. I can’t help you if you aren’t honest with me. What did you want to happen?”
“Well... it’s not of what I did or didn’t want to happen. I guess I was expecting that same sort of feeling like when we went to that bar. It just didn’t get to that --” He shrugged, cutting himself off. “It’s no big deal.”

She smiled, seeing him blush. But she didn’t stop there. Leaning closer and holding his arm, Claire nodded at him knowingly. “See! Look at you getting flustered over it. Love connection. Mark my words. You just need to loosen up a bit more, I bet. You did want to kiss her, right?”
Sighing, Dalton weighed telling her the truth and allowing her to be happy for the situation. Instead he shrugged, he was never good at fibbing. “I mean I’m flustered because it didn’t feel like that big of a deal. I think I did? It just... I don’t know. Maybe I expected something different.”
Austin walked into school fully expecting his teammates and friends to tease the hell out of him. He had run out of contacts and was being forced to wear his glasses, which he personally thought looked alright but he knew all the jocks loved to make fun of him for it. As he entered the hallway, he caught someone staring at them slightly. “What? Ain’t nothing wrong with being legally blind …” Yeah, his eyesight was that bad without glasses.
Dalton shook his head as he passed by the other. “I wasn’t gonna say anything, man. I’m kind of bitter now that I don’t have to wear glasses.”

“Okay, uh. Don’t panic. You said you kissed her, right? That must’ve been exciting.”
“But Claire.” Dalton pleaded as he hid his blush. “It was just a cheek kiss.”

“Because of Wolf?”
“No, just... high expectations, I think.”

Claire tilted her head. “What do you mean? Was it underwhelming?”
“I don’t know. It just didn’t feel very... magical. If that makes sense.”
Cal looked Dalton up and down, “Not a problem at all, sorry I’m a bit snappy this morning,” They say, giving the other an appreciative nod, “You know, hangovers and all the pain that comes with an absolutely stellar night.” They say this, voice laced with sarcasm.
“I get it.” Dalton said with a nod. “I haven’t personally had one, but I’ve heard terrible things. My brother used to get them all the time before he left for college. I do happen to know a few quick acting cures if you’re interested?”

“I am very helpful. It’s true. Yes. I know it might not seem like much, but to Cady, it’s a very big deal.” At his question, Claire shrugged. “I just… know these things.” Then she let out a hum. “It’s always good to ask at the end of the night when you’re saying goodbye. A simple ‘When can I see you again?’ usually does the trick. But. That doesn’t mean it’s too late. How do you feel?”
“That’s why I’m grateful, silly. I figured as much.” Dalton said as he nodded. “Oh... alright.” He didn’t further question it, he trusted Claire. “I guess I didn’t know that. I mean... I think I feel good? I don’t know. Is it weird to think I might’ve had too big of expectations?”
Calypso ran a hand through his hair, breathing in the warm air as he slid from his car. He’d prefer to be on the Southbank side, but he had to begrudgingly admit that Dairy just had better things than what near his house had to offer. At least, to some degree. He had a hangover the size of the Queen Bee’s egos, and an itching to have a milkshake or a smoothie. But of course, his day and migraine had to get worse with someone blocking the doorway.
“Excuse me.”
Dalton had intended to run into Dairy’s and make it a quick in and out thing, but to his surprised, he dropped his bag off food on the way out. Not even realizing someone was behind him, he glanced over his shoulder. “Oh shoot. I’m so sorry. Here.” He said stepping out of the way.

“Chug? Wouldn’t that be painful? I mean not that i’m saying I’m not down.”

She shook her head slowly, “I’m not sure your pure mind could handle the real definition.” She grinned, “Let’s just say it’s gross as hell.”
“How bad could it be?” He wondered, his parents did warn him about zodiacs once. “Like poor hygiene gross?”

raising a brow as soon as the word fell from the other’s lips, the blonde nearly choked on her own drink but was quick to place a hand over her mouth as she began laughing. “dalton!” she barely managed to call out his name in the midst of loud laughter, her hand reaching over to shove him a little. “—a blumpkin! someone offered you a blumpkin! that’s so… oh my god! you do realize what that is, right? no? it’s an oral. but like… when you-” she couldn’t even finish since the thought alone of someone actually wanting to do it made her laugh even harder.
Suddenly Dalton felt as if he really was out of the loop on the word meaning, but Eli’s laugh was contagious, so he began to chuckle a little. “Not a single clue, wait -- oral as in, like a dental trip?” A perplexed look took over his face, smiling as he watched her reaction.
