I think having the main theme of your movie being that bravery does not nessicarily mean willingness to subject yourself to pain and fear but rather rising to the challenge once you’re already in that situation is such an important message given our circumstances right now

thinking about how ursula k leguin said "what goes too long unchanged destroys itself. The forest is forever because it dies and dies and so lives" and how everyday i wake up slightly different and i can feel myself shed the skin of who i used to be slowly, slowly, until i look back and can scarcely recognise who i was... but also she is still a part of me, part of the leaf litter and the humus, supporting me as i send new roots down and new leaves stretching up to the sunlight

the need to talk about the characters vs the fear that all of my analysis is just empty prose and surface level understanding

Character duo where one *remembers I don’t like fitting characters into trope boxes* is a completely fleshed out and realised person *remembers treating characters as real people and not story devices written with intent is bad* who is written by the author and *remembers death of the author* uh. stop. analyse that text through the lens of its author's intentions and original historical context. okay now take the author out back and kill them dead and analyse that text as though it were published by your mutual yesterday and is in direct conversation the contemporary discourse that's most relevant to your life. okay now pick your favorite angle of interpretation and come up with the strongest possible argument against it. now imagine that the text is your best friend and that it means you well and that you naturally give it every benefit of the doubt because you're on its side and you want the best for it. now imagine that the text wants you dead and it'll eat you if you don't eat it first. now pretend that you found this text locked away in a cave with no evidence of when or where it came from and you have to divine its meaning solely through its internal coherence and nothing else. okay now address the elephant in the room aspect of the text you've been ignoring because you find it boring or confusing or uncomfortable and become the number one expert on it. now spend forty minutes assigning all the characters dnd classes with at least three sentences of reasoning each. okay now do the cha cha slide.

Just so people know the background on this man and his herd of guinea pigs-- he moved into a house, and discovered about 10 guinea pigs living in a fenced area of the back garden. It was overgrown so he never noticed before moving in. It turned out the previous tenants just abandoned the poor babies. So Cyd immediately was like "well I guess im a father now." And began learning how to care for them.

He didnt realize he had to separate the males from the females (they'd been intermingled when he found them so it didnt occur to him) until suddenly all the females were pregnant and by the time he was able to separate them all out, he now had 80 guinea pigs.

I found 10 guinea pigs in my new home but now I have 80

This man became an awesome guinea dad to his 80 guinea pigs. On his tiktok he documents building them new, nicer outdoor homes, beginning to regularly grow grasses to feed them, while also spending over 100 pounds a week to keep them in supply of fresh veggies. He also treats them for lice and tics ever 3 months.

He recognizes each one and each one has a name.
