Now there was a thing. Bucky didn’t know much about her, but there was something about her that told him she wasn’t to be underestimated. She was, however, pretty diminutive in size, and thus he found himself looking down at her as she paused in front of him.
“Coulson sent you, right?” he asked, turning on his heel and pulling the door open to the little cordoned off part of the warehouse they’d claimed as a base. “Steve mentioned him. Said he was a pretty good guy. There aren’t many of those.”
Bucky stepped through the door, waited for her to follow, then closed the door politely behind her. “Steve?”
The blond looked up from the file he was scanning through, then said, “Daisy, I presume?” He stood (she was a lady and he was a polite kinda guy), then gestured towards the chair in front of him. Bucky leaned against the doorframe, watching with interest in silence. “Phil called. I think. Is it a call if it’s a video?”
“Yeah, a video call.” Bucky rolled his eyes good-naturedly, “He slept away the modern world.”
“Yeah. Though ‘sent’ is perhaps the wrong word, I didn’t give him much of a choice when it came to picking someone out to go. Soon as I heard, I was pretty much out the door.” Now that their little threat assessment (level one) was over, she was a touch more relaxed. “I hate being cooped up. And I was curious.” She gave a shrug, following after him.
She stepped into the rom, her eyes flickering over Bucky as she gave a little grin before turning her attention to Steve. Daisy moved to the chair and sat down before replying, “Yeah, that’s what I get called these days.” She almost snorted at their exchange, but kept her amusement to herself (and a little smile that appeared on her features).
“A video call, yeah. A truly hip new thing - brilliant, but not exactly secure. Even on S.H.I.E.L.D. lines. What I have to say may not interest you. But we thought since out intel had you out here anyway, and considering everything... It wouldn’t hurt to tell you about. And show you.” She was rather glad she had not hid the USB in her bra, though that would have been amusing now she thought about it. Since her flight was arranged by S.H.I.E.L.D. and on a quinjet, and her drop off point not far from here she had kept it simply on a chain around her neck, which she now place on the desk.
“It’s regarding Hydra. But everything these days seems to come back to them, doesn’t it? The stick their thumbs in ever pie. We’ve discovered a base nearby. A small one from what we can gather, but the agent we sent to investigate has yet to contact us. Our initial intel came from a different agent based here at the time, though they weren’t sent to investigate. The little information we have is on here.” And of course, they wanted to act as quickly as possible - but to be at least somewhat stealthy. Hydra probably knew more agents would be after them now if the other agent had been caught (which was likely). They needed to strike hard, and now. Which was why she considered it a bit of luck this ragtag band of vigilantes were nearby. Though they might not be willing to help - and if not, she’d still go ahead with the plan and call in a person for back up.

From her position sitting down at the table, Daisy gave a little groan and rubbed one hand on her temple. “You know, saying that doesn’t actually make me feel much better - I’m not entirely sure I believe you." Daisy paused, then glanced over at Elena as a slight grin passed over her features. “It’s not personal. I’ve just come not to trust those words. Or maybe it’s just that I need a job where we can just assume that no one is dead unless told otherwise. It’s strange being told no one is dead.”
She got up, closing her laptop over where it rested on the table, then picking up her coffee mug. She needed a refill. “So. No one dead. Absolutely no one dead. Does that mean none of our team and none of their team ended up with a quick ticket to the beyond?” She was glad that Elena and the team had made it out alright and-- She then frowned, looking over at Elena with an almost weary expression. “So no one’s dead, but how many were injured? Everyone’s alright, I take it?”
She had been on a separate mission for this little trip. She had not seen her group in action, but knew they could take care of themselves. Or at least, Daisy hoped so.

“Ah yes. That two W’s of breakfast. Wheetabix and Whiskey. Oh, wait... make it the three W’s of breakfast. Wheetabix, Whiskey, and Whining.” Daisy settled down in a chair, taking a drink of her coffee before setting it down on the table and pulling her laptop towards her. Breakfast wasn’t a big deal to her. She could never refuse a fry up or a full breakfast but that was too much effort to make most days.
Besides, work had her keeping odd hours, and often she’d work all night and sleep during the day and it didn’t often seem right to be eating breakfast foods when others were dining out for dinner. She pulled her laptop onto her lap and fired up the files she had been reading before her coffee break, but instead of reading them now her eyes flickered over to Dean and she gave a grin. “You always drink that much whiskey at breakfast? I’m not gonna complain or argue with you, whiskey is a staple part of every meal time but if you keep drinking it you’re gonna have to re-stock the secret whiskey supply.”

Daisy blinked at the words, startled back to Earth as he spoke. Her mind had been far away - quite literally in space, but she couldn’t recall why. Something about this place had reminded her of there. And lately she’d been feeling nostalgic. Or something like that. She had not meant to pause, nor had she really noticed the guy - which was shoddy on her part. Daisy had been taught to alwaysbe aware, but sometimes your guard could just slip.
“I wasn’t staring at you, don’t flatter yourself,” she replied, a slightly amused tone in her voice. Daisy gave a little smirk, then glanced away and passed him - searching the place quickly. “I don’t want to come in I was just... I was distracted. Sorry. I didn’t mean to stare.” Still, his words had amused her. Why would simply staring indicate she wanted to go in? ...Well, actually, no she could understand that. But he had no reason to invite her in or to talk to her in the first place. He should have just said ‘fuck off’ or words akin to that.
“Do you always just invite people in like that?” she asked, a smirk still on her features as she took a step back and began to turn to leave. “You probably shouldn’t. Never know what kinda person might be lurking around. And usually people who just stare aren’t the best sort to muck in with.”

She hadn’t been paying proper attention, so this was surely her own fault. Her mark had suddenly disappeared into the crowds at the club, and Daisy swore mentally before searching for him once again. But he had just managed to vanish. She had stood, almost frozen, near the edge of where people were dancing, trying to assess her thoughts. The stake-out was not official, she had not been asked to trail the man, but to Daisy it was still important. He was most certainly with A.I.M. and things had been blowing up with them lately. Quite literally.
But she should still have been paying attention even if her mark had gone. There was no need for her to lose the plot, to let her defences down. Yet they had gone down for a split-second and some guy had managed to swoop in and take advantage of that. Well, kudos to him. She had not been startled for some time now.
He had gripped her hips, pulling her towards him and turning her around. Face to face, practically pressed up against each other now, Daisy looked at him and quickly evaluated him. Or glanced over him to see what level of craziness this guy was on. Didn’t seem bad. Her gut instinct wasn’t telling her to run. But still... though it was perhaps expected in a club Daisy did not appreciate being pulled towards anyone at all. No matter how cute or how good they were at surprising her.
She grinned, leaning in closer and giving an almost seductive look. Her hands rested on his shoulders and she swayed in time with the music before...
Her look turned to a frown, and her hands shot straight downwards towards his wrists. Not with enough force to break them. Just enough to break his grip. She stepped back at the same time and said, “I’m really not in the mood. As much as I do enjoy a little rough play, I’m not entertained right now.” And with that, she turned to head off - maybe she’d get a drink first before leaving or just head straight out...
