Author’s Note updated as of 8/4/24: Hello loves! God this is my first update for a note for a year and a half. I'm sorry I haven't been active in writing, even though I've been active on my blog. I may be more active now for a little while since having left my old job. But as I've stated multiple times even though I am 23, I have three small kids. They take up most of my time, no matter how much I have always loved writing, they have to come first.
But for now I am a stay at home mom till I find something new, and I do have about 20 WIP that are either nearly or close to being done from when I was publishing often. I PRAY to get them to you guys as soon as I can, whenever I get free time.
As always I love you all, and I will FOREVER BE thankful to anyone who has supported my work. Literally everyone on of you that hearts or reblogs my work, even just reads it, will ALWAYS have a place in my heart. Thank you everyone.
I MADE A BACK UP BLOG BECAUSE OF THE ISSUES I’VE BEEN HAVING WITH THIS ONE, PLEASE FOLLOW IT FOR WHEN I HAVE TO POST ON THERE, @eddieslittleh3llfire

The first piece of advice drilled into Adam was simple: avoid the sorcerer. As a boy he was told of the girl who, only two years before his birth, had been banished to the edge of Eternia for her great betrayal. His Mother had been careful with her retelling of the events but she chose not to hide the truth from her son, fearing naivety would be his downfall. The sorcerer child had stolen the power her good hearted master protected and his life with it. Adam’s parents had found their friends body sucked dry of all life and promised revenge but to a girl…they couldn’t. She was merely a child and as parents they couldn’t easily do what many demanded be done.
Banishment. That was the compromise. She would be banished to the borders of Eternia where she was destined to grow old alone. It was at this point in the story that Adam would ask his parents if she was redeemable. They would only smile in response at his sweetness.
Over the years Adam’s parents came to regret their storytelling as they saw their naive son grow a deep fascination with the sorceress. At breakfast he’d draw his image of her and write stories of his own, creating backstories and retellings from his enthusiastic imagination. He’d think of her at night, as he grew into a man and his thoughts became clouded, how redeemable was she? That was the question he returned to. He craved the answer but he could never reach one. If only he could meet her, he’d think, and see for himself.
But as Adam grew obsessed the rest of Eternia grew forgetful. Guards stopped patrolling the woods, as there hadn’t been a sighting in years. Children were no longer threatened with being taken to the sorcerer as incentive to behave. The title, once so feared, became a distant memory and Eternia became the peaceful place it was meant to be. Those who still spoke of a banished dark sorcerer always stated she was long dead but Adam knew better. He knew you were still out there.
He’d felt you in his mind.
Over the last few months Adam had heard enchanting whispers, yours, in his head every night. He’d wake up never remembering the words but always he’d be left with a feeling of fascination. A connection between him and the mysterious figure he’d worshipped as a child. You’d been calling out to him, beckoning what he could never hear before sleep took him.
One fateful night, after enduring hours of intense physical training, Adam lay in his chambers asleep. As he’d come to expect, your voice rang in his head promising another cursed night. But this time was different. He felt torn open and the ghost of hands sliding over his torso and neck. Sharpened nails plucked and pulled at his shirt and hair pawing and grabbing for him. For more. Panicked, Adam’s eyes flew open but there was no one. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he chased his breath. He was alone but he sensed your presence. Perhaps he could call to you.
“What do you want with me?”
A depraved, feminine laugh echoed through Adam’s bedroom. Something in its resonance chilled his skin and he heard the sound long after silence prevailed. The only thought he was possessed with was this: find the sorceress. He had to seek you out. He needed answers like he needed sleep and you were depriving him of both.
Heeding his call, you instilled the ability in Adam to find your home. It was forbidden magic, to control someone in such a way, and Adam gasped as he felt his control over himself relinquish. You compelled the Prince to rise from his bed and step into the moonlight. The way to the castle grounds was made of secret passageways. Even Adam didn’t know every route through but somehow you did. He felt an invisible rope dragging his body from his home to yours. Cold dread filled him from top to toe as he questioned if he was able to stop, to return to his bed and forget this night. The truth was he didn’t want to.
Adam’s bare feet trudged through the silent grounds, every step leading him closer to the one place he shouldn’t go but needed to see. His life long desire to meet you was overwhelming as his feet touched autumn leaves. Eternia’s great forest and beyond it: you. Always you.
The woods welcomed Adam, recognising his as a friend and long time visitor. Even as an enthusiastic child he had respected its beauty but as he walked on the forest changed. Leaves fell away revealing the hideously gnarled bones of trees. A rotting stench filled the air that thickened with every step. The ground that had bounced beneath him now cut into his bare skin. All around was an oppressive feeling of decay. The place that Eternia forgot.
Your home.
Bloodied, worn and exhausted Adam arrived at a clearing. He didn’t know how long you had been governing his body but your hold on him, at least physical, had ceased. You were giving him the choice to turn back. It was your way of saying: sow the seeds of your own ruin, willingly.
So willingly he went.
It didn’t take long for Adam to reach your home, the place he had drawn countless times as a child. It was only the size of his most modest guest bedroom and carved from wood. He surprised himself with how accurately he’d imagined it, down to your dilapidated porch and cracked lanterns.
With that thought a sudden change of scent hit Adam, not the rot of surrounding trees but an otherworldly aroma. It was like nothing he could link to Eternia but, just as your voice had done, it beckoned him closer. Adam hadn’t realised he was walking until his bleeding feet nudged your front door.
It opened at his touch.
Every inch of your home was filled with objects Adam couldn’t identify except for the books but those looked ancient. The closest to him was carved with glowing symbols he’d seen somewhere but couldn’t decipher. Charred vines grew between the beams in your ceiling, battling for ownership of space. They too carried the otherworldly smell he’d gotten before. There was no bed and what furniture you did have served as support for your many piles of papers, vials, books, and strange objects Adam presumed to be magic.
But where were you hiding?
“Adam…”
Your voice, no longer in his head but real and-
“This forest is cruel to strangers.”
In the time it took Adam to blink you appeared, glancing at the trail of blood he’d dragged in with him.
“But you already know that.”
His eyes were transfixed by your face, convinced he knew it. Your words and beauty were distractions…what was he doing here? In his chest Adam felt his heart thumping faster and the familiar panic he awakened with returned.
“Have you brought me here to kill me?”
You stepped closer to the Prince, delighting in the fear that radiated from his skin.
“I’ve brought you here,” you reached for Adam’s fearful face. “So I can save you.”
adam with an alt gf please i need it. I wanna see him walking around with a beautiful girl in all black, holding hands with their big, pink button-up wearing boyfriend. He would be so in love with you, not even in like a “i need a freaky goth gf way”, he would genuinely admire that you’re so unapologetically yourself and that you love him completely even though he thinks he’s lame IM GONNA WRITE THIS GODDAMNIT IM SO WEAK

the first thing you noticed about adam glenn was that he apologized to the coffee machine.
“c’mon, buddy,” he muttered, giving it an encouraging pat. “i know you’ve got one more latte in you.”
you weren’t supposed to laugh.
you really weren’t.
but the tiny snort escaped before you could stop it.
adam looked over his shoulder, cheeks already turning pink.
“you saw that?”
“unfortunately.”
he sighed dramatically. “it’s been a rough morning.”
“for you?”
“for me and the coffee machine.”
that was the first conversation you ever had with the guy from human resources.

after that, it became strangely impossible not to notice him.
adam always held the elevator when someone was running late, even if it meant missing it himself.
he somehow remembered everyone’s birthdays without writing them down.
he wore ties that never matched his shirts because, according to him, “colors are just… suggestions.”
and every monday, he’d walk in carrying enough breakfast sandwiches to feed half the department because he’d inevitably forgotten he’d already eaten.
“want one?” he’d ask, holding out a paper bag.
“you bought six.”
“yeah.”
“there are only four people on our floor.”
“…math has never been my strongest subject.”

winter settled over oklahoma city.
the mornings got colder.
one especially icy day, you walked into work rubbing your hands together.
without saying anything, adam slid a cup onto your desk.
hot chocolate.
extra whipped cream.
“they were out of coffee.”
“…you remembered i like hot chocolate.”
he shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal.
“figured it’d make the monday less… monday.”
you stared at the cup for a second longer than necessary.
“…thanks.”
he smiled.
your stomach did something incredibly inconvenient.

a/n: i tried to write as much i could .. but i literally gave up mid way, but this idea literally came to me while i was in the shower bc this song came on #gostreamyouseemprettysadforagirlsoinlove (and lmk if i should do more adam bc no one ever writes for him)
request Hey! I was wondering if you might write some Adam Glenn with a plus size reader? Maybe she doesn’t think she’s good enough for him and he’s like ‘that’s the prettiest woman I’ve ever seen’ if not that’s ok. Have a good day!
authors note changed it a little as i don’t really enjoy self deprecating stuff but i hope you still like it!! very short and not proofread.
when adam started working in HR, he never expected to meet the prettiest girl he had ever seen in his life. don’t get him wrong, he thought most women were beautiful, but this was something else entirely. it was otherworldly, really (which was ironic, considering he was actually otherworldly).
it was almost embarrassing how obvious he was. he’d catch himself looking up whenever you walked past his little cubicle, like his head moved on its own. his coworkers noticed, too. they’d nudge each other and smirk whenever you were nearby, and one of them even asked him once, half-laughing, “why don’t you just ask her out? it’s not like she’d have many other suitors.
adam didn’t understand that at all. he was sure many men were lining up at your door just waiting for a sliver of your attention, just like him. if anything, he figured you probably had to dodge invitations like they were flying objects.
and then, one morning, he got the attention he wanted.
you knocked on his thin cubicle wall. “hey, adam? do you have a second?”
he immediately dropped everything he was doing and stood up so fast he nearly bumped his knees on the desk. “of course. definitely. yes. please, sit.” he gestured too enthusiastically to the chair across from him, and you sat down. it took him barely a millisecond to sit too, leaning forward. “so,” he said, trying to sound casual and failing, “what can i do for you?”
you smiled, but it looked a little strained. “this is going to sound stupid,” you let out a small laugh, “but you’re HR, so i thought i’d ask if you could do anything about some of the people in the office commenting on…” you trailed off and gestured vaguely toward yourself.
adam furrowed his brows. “on what?”
you sucked your teeth. “my body.”
“oh my god.” adam’s face dropped. he was shocked, and for a split second his mind went in the completely wrong direction. he didn’t realise that you meant people were commenting on your body in a negative manner. his first thought was that they were talking about you in a sexual way which was making you uncomfortable. “that’s awful. what have they been saying?”
you shook your head quickly. “i don’t really want to talk about it.”
“yeah, no. no, i get it,” he said, trying to be reassuring.
you breathed out, letting yourself be annoyed for a second. “they’ve just been saying i should, you know… lose a few pounds. or stop eating so much.” you rolled your eyes. “like, it’s nothing i can’t deal with. i am confident in my body. but it just sucks to hear it when our workplace keeps labeling itself as inclusive.”
adam blinked, his confusion creeping in slowly.
“wait, i’m sorry,” he said, carefully. “lose weight? why would anyone want you to do that?”
you lifted your shoulders in a small shrug, like you didn’t want to make it a bigger thing than it already was.
“you’re beautiful,” he blurted. and then his whole body froze, because he realised what he’d just said and his face went hot. “not that i mean that i find you- i mean, i do, i definitely do,” he stammered, immediately regretting every word as it left his mouth. “i’m just saying that, like, objectively. lots of people would think that. and anyone who wants you to change is probably just… jealous. or hateful. because you’re gorgeous. again, not coming from me, coming from- from other people. other people in the world.” he was rambling now, and he knew he was rambling, but he couldn’t stop. his brain was short-circuiting in real time. “they think you’re gorgeous.”
you stared at him for a second, and then you gave a small, amused smile. “right.” you stood up, slowly, your eyebrows slightly furrowed, not completely sure on how well that talk went.
adam took in a deep breath, forcing his shoulders to relax. “thank you,” you said, softer. “and if you could deal with some of them, i’d appreciate it.”
“i will,” adam said immediately. “i promise. i’ll handle it.” he sounded almost fierce about it, which made him even more embarrassed, but he meant it.
you turned to leave, and his heart dipped because he thought that was it. that was the moment. the closest he’d ever get. and he’s fucked it massively.
but then you paused at the entrance of his cubicle and looked back over your shoulder.
“and maybe we should get dinner sometime, by the way,” you said. your eyes flicked over him, playfully. “i think you’re beautiful too.”
and then you walked away.
adam sat there for a second, staring at the spot where you’d been standing, then slowly lowered his head into his hands.
“oh my god,” he whispered to himself, happily, because it was the only sentence his brain could form.

what is taking me out is the duffers claiming no one predicted the ending but it was the most obvious ending in existence that has been the most talked about, like that could’ve been an email I fear.
the fact that the duffer brothers dragged out will's feelings for mike to the final season of their show that ended with, in my opinion, an unoriginal coming out scene instead of resolving it completely in s4 is bad writing. the fact that they used will's pain and unrequited love to help build up a mediocre straight relationship is bad writing. the fact that their other queer characters, robin and vickie, got together off screen and we barely got to know vickie as a character and see their relationship develop while most of the straight characters got to have their romances developed throughout the entirety of the show onscreen is bad writing. the fact that they'll most likely give will some random epilogue boyfriend we won't have any time to grow to care about, is bad writing.
if the only character arcs you can think to give your queer characters involve self-acceptance, coming out scenes, unrequited love with a straight best friend, and off screen romances but you cannot give them more nuance than that, it is bad writing. and if you cannot give your queer characters the same amount of love, care, and attention as your straight ones, quite frankly, you should not be writing them in the first place.
The duffers really said "what if we took a bunch of traumatized queer people, kicked them in the ribs, and spat in their faces literal moments before the new year so they can all start the year off miserable"
