I couldn’t agree more with this .
Because acknowledging our pain would mean we’re human beings too and they can’t have that. How can you heal something that keeps getting picked at anyhow ?!
And because if we acknowledge our pain, someone would have to take the blame for it. White America isn’t about to do it.
Because the stages of grief (according to psychologists) are 1. denial, 2. anger, 3. bargaining, 4. depression, and 5. acceptance. The only stage that could affect white people (and therefore the only stage they care about) is Anger, so they want us to skip on over that.
