Dan and Phil Survey 2021 in here!

The survey is now out, find it here! It will be open from today, April 2nd to Friday, May 14th. Please note the form is run via Google Forms and you will need to sign in to complete the survey - this is to help ensure it is only taken once. No information will be collected from your account.

Since 2015, we have been running the Dan and Phil Survey to find out more about the phandom, and this is the fifth time we have done this. We have had a truly overwhelming number of responses over the years - over 60,000 responses between the four previous surveys combined!! And now we’re back to dive into our amazing community again and get an idea of who we are, and how it’s changed since 2015. The survey is for everyone who considers themself a fan of Dan and Phil - whether you’ve been here since Day 1, have a room covered in their merch, or just watch them casually, we want to hear from you!

Once the survey is closed, the results will be posted sometime in summer 2021 - follow this blog as we will be posting all the results here.

The Dan and Phil survey is back for 2021!

We have been running the Dan and Phil survey since 2015 and this Friday (April 2nd) we are releasing the survey again for 2021! This is our fifth survey and we hope to get an informed perspective on exactly how Phandom has changed.

2015 Survey: 29,927* Responses

2017 Survey: 24,571 Responses

2018 Survey: 6,666** Responses

2019 Survey: 4,670 Responses

When interpreting these data, there’s a behind-the-scenes detail that’s important to keep in mind. Over the years, some of the major Phandom social media accounts that used to help us promote the survey have become inactive or become unwilling to continue to help us promote the survey. As a result, it has become considerably more difficult for us to promote the survey widely within the Phandom.

*In 2015, the survey received 29,927 responses, and the results published were based on all of those responses. However, only 25,246 of the raw survey responses were published. (For more details, see this post.) Since we started making comparisons to past years’ survey results in 2018, we have been unable to access/reconstruct the original 29,927 survey responses, so our comparisons have been based on the published 25,246 results.

**In 2018, there was some ambiguity as to whether the survey received 6,666 responses or 11,666 responses. (For more details, see this post.) My (itasca00′s) personal opinion is that the survey received 6,666 responses.
