âOh I wish youâd shut up.â Juliette shot back making her way through the crowd. âI can handle losing.â She found an open spot at the booth and stared at the wall of moving ducks and the colorful prizes that lingered above. She gave the attendant a ticket and picked up the neon water gun. âLetâs make this interesting, if I beat you, you owe me a favor. It can be of my choosing.â
"Well too bad because I won't, specifically now that I know you want me too." Levi smirked. Levi followed closely behind her, stopping as she did and taking a look at the prizes if one can call them that. Immediately losing all interest in the prizes as he heard the others offer, quirking an eyebrow up and looking at her. "And if I beat you, you owe me a favor?"
He looked at his old friend and put his arms around him to hug him. "But you didn't do it to be mean to me, like you planned to do it, you had reasons and you are here now it's okay" he hugged the other and rubbed his back in support. "It all dont matter now you are here now and living in the same place that must mean something" he smiled.
"He's super great.." he knew they all would get along for sure. "I mean I do know nothing I was with my ex from high school till we got married and now him" he looked at photo. "But I think our own rooms helps for now..." so they still had their own space so it was good.
Levi sniffed, nodding against the mans shoulder. "Thank you." he smiled weakly, pulling away from the hug a little just to be able to look at Sasha. "Yeah-- it must." he smiled, wiping the tears from his cheeks before going in for another hug, this time a less sad one.
"He's handsome too-- you both are. An attractive couple." Levi smiled, looking from Sasha to the photo and back at Sasha. "You gotta do what you two feel comfortable with Sash, I'm honestly so happy for you."
ezekiel was a goner. he knew that he was blushing, there was definitely no hiding that from the man now that he was this close. he was so close that ezekiel could almost taste him. and how he wanted to do just that, but he knew he had to be patient. licking his lips, the younger man tried his best to keep his composure as he thought of a response.
letting his eyes travel over the other's face once more, he hummed, eyes shooting back up from the other's lips to his eyes as eh smirked. "besides thinking you're the most handsome man i've ever laid eyes on?" he hummed. "i'm a surgeon in training. what about yourself, good looking?"
Levi took immense pleasure in seeing the other's reaction. Seeing people blush at his words was an absolute rush for Levi. He liked getting under people's skin, especially in a flirty way flustering them to the point of not being able to speak.
"Surgeon in training? Really? I for sure thought you would be a model or something, a face like yours belongs on magazine covers." Levi smirked. "I'm a dancer, professional dancer."
"It's alright I know all of it isn't easy to talk about and not much you can say about it" that he had so much go on the past few months going on a year now. But he knew his friend would support him and be there for him for sure.
"oh shh stop it" he hugged his old friend. "You were always a good person and good friend, you liked me for me and not my accent only or what you think... or well some people thought they could get from me" that he was Russian and it lead to bunch of random things.
"Once he's back from work we will have to make plans" he walked to sit on the couch that was only bought a few months ago now. "I don't want people to think of me bad.. and it's not normal to move with someone this fast... so it's best" he nodded.
"I wasn't a good friend Sasha -- come on, I abandoned you. I left and I didn't say shit. Good friends don't do that." he cried into Sasha's shoulder, hugging the man back tightly. "I'm sorry-- I -- I missed you dude, I really did. I should have reached out sooner I'm sorry." he sniffled.
"Yea we should, that sounds fun." he smiled, eyes following Sasha's movements. "Okay you are very wrong about that. Me and one of my exes' moved in after dating for three days. It wasn't the best relationship but still it was three months of fun and constantly being together so."
He looked at him for a moment and shook his head "It's fine what can you say in a moment like this?" that his life was all changed from his actions and it was changed forever. He knew it was still hard now but it was for the better, he couldn't be hidng the truth forever.
He smirked a moment "I am only kidding relax!" he put his hand on the other's arm and smirked him. "I like you, you're a good friend and person so I am glad that I met you" he smiled he did mean it.
"Well I hope you get to know him now, since we both are here now" he sat the photo down and walked into his apartment more. "We both have our own rooms still.... it's all very new still" it wasn't normal to move in this fast but Sasha had to move out from his wife so it worked out.
"I want to say something. But I know if I were in your shoes I wouldn't accept any of those helpful words so." he shrugged. He never really took people's helpful words to heart, always simply dismissing them. So he could only imagine what it was like when talking about stuff that you still feel bad for.
Levi didn't know how to respond, tears welling up in his eyes as he broke eye contact with Sasha for a moment, giving a nod while sniffling. He closed his eyes for a second, trying to calm down. "Sorry." he whispered, rubbing his hands over his eyes to try and distract himself. "I'm glad I met you too." he whispered, not daring to look at Sasha as he desperately tried to swallow the sadness away.
"I'd love to get to know him, getting to know my friends boyfriend who makes him so happy? It's a must." he smiled gently. "If that is what works for the two of you, then so be it."
He looked at him and let out a sigh, it was hard stuff with his family right now. That a lot of his family did not speak to him much at all right now. "I don't know about that anymore" he shook his head "Leaving his office, divorce, and being gay now, it isn't anything he's happy about."
He shook his head "No not really I was just always nice to you since I felt bad for you" he joked with a smirk. He was only kidding he did try to be nice to everyone. Hearing what he said he looked over at him. "You know him" he wasn't that surpised Enzo was a friendly and good guy all around. "Yes we have started to do it more now too"
Levi nodded, giving a sigh. "I -- I get it. Sorry I -- I wanna say some inspirational bullshit but I doubt that'd work right now huh?" he smiled softly, shaking his head. "But at least you are happy."
Levi stared at Sasha for a second, a pang of fear and guilt striking his heart. "I'm-- you felt bad for.. me?" he questioned, a million questions racing through his head.
"I know him-- sort of. I see him on the trails a lot, we exchanged words a couple of times but it's not like I have been fully talking to him or anything."
He just wanted me to be the best... and I was always a disappointment to him...." he did work as hard as he could but it was never enough for him. That Sasah was good at what he did, but it wasn't enough for his father at all. Who wanted more and more for him and just the best. But always having his father there made him not enjoy his work at all.
"I am not as nice as you think...." he hurt his ex and his family for what he had done. He looked at his old friend for a moment and grabbed a photo from a table near the wall and brought it over. He looked at it a moment and smiled. "I didn't ...do anything with them really outside a kiss tell the divorce was final...." he looked at the photo "He's really his names Enzo but he's working now so he's away" he said turning the photo to show him.
âI donât think anyone can ever truly live up to their parents expectations Sasha, Iâm sure heâs somewhat proud of you, even if he doesnât say it.â Levi offered with a smile.
âYes you are, youâve always been a nice guy. You fucked up, but most people do. At least once in their life.â He said, a little sternly. Levi nodded as he listened to the other speak. âIâd love to meet him sometime.â Levi smiled before looking at the photo. âOh I know himâ he goes hiking quiet a lot doesnât he?â
âYou wouldnât be the first.â Johnny sighed. Somehow being away from L.A drama followed. âHey this might sound weird but have I seen you somewhere before? Like an awards show or something?â
âHm⊠sure.â He rolled his eyes. âPossibly. Iâm a dancer. Been on a few stages. You seem somewhat familiar too-- wouldn't know where to place you though. I'm Levi Wright.â
"Fuck that, there are other creative paths to take. And I'd be a shit teacher. Thought about choreography but nothing ever came of it.â Juliette blew her bangs out of her eyes. âOh really? I have higher standards than that, besides youâd probably push me off the Ferris wheel.â Juliette rolled her eyes and began to skip into the crowded area near the rides. âPut your money where your mouth is,â She hollered turning back around to face him.
"Fair enough, it's a true stereotype hence why I asked. Though with your vocabulary I very much think you'd make an excellent teacher." he joked. He shot her an annoyed look, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. "Higher standards-- please you wish you could get me -- I hadn't considered pushing someone off before... but no I wouldn't, won't want to ruin my beautiful reputation with something as dumb as murder." he shrugged. He grinned, shaking his head. "Hope you're not a sour loser."
He sighed a moment "And work was always harder with him there, I mean I know he wanted me to learn and do my best but it was just a lot..." he knew his father did mean the best. But it was hard having him there watching him and telling him how he wasn't doing things right when he had done it perfectly. He looked at him a moment. "We can talk at my place" him not not wanting anyone to just walk by and hear what he had to say. About his personal life and what had been going on with it.
It was all hard he could tell Levi had been threw a lot too but looked like he was doing well now. Sasha had so many changes lately that he was dealing with a lot still even months later. "I wouldn't offer if I didnt want you in" and Enzo wasn't home so they be free to talk. "It's really nice here" he smiled as he walked to the elevator then soon was at his floor and walked up to the door. He almost stopped he knew there were photos of him and Enzo in the apartment. He let the other in side and stopped him in the entryway. "Wait" he put his hand out. "You will see things...." he looked around for a moment. "I divorced my wife since ... I was not faithful to her..." he looked away he knew it was bad, that cheating wasn't a okay thing. "But I was going out a lot meeting people..." he left it short for now. "I met someone and they make me very happy" even know it was still pretty new. He lead the other to the living room.
"Fair enough, he's your dad obviously he's either going to be too soft on you or too hard. Seems to be an annoying stereotype whenever you work with family." he sighed. He had the luck of never worked with his father, although his father had wanted him to become a lawyer he always refused and only wanted to pursue dancing.
"Well true but-- you're a nice guy so I don't- wanna take advantage of that." he smiled softly, following closely. He turned to face Sasha when he was asked to wait, frowning slightly. He didn't speak, waiting for Sasha to finish while taking in this new information. He nodded, following behind him. "I'm-- I'm glad you met someone who makes you happy Sasha, you know that's all I ever wished for you. Sorry to hear things ended with your wife like that but-- I'm not going to judge you, you know that right?"
Enzo was glad that he'd found things in Mit Heights that brought him joy. Traveling had been such an important part of his life during his early twenties that he never thought settling in a place so different would be for him. Malibu, California was where he grew up, surrounded by the chaos of living that close to the famous life, it was just enough to keep anyone entertained. Add in that Enzo had always traveled for work and the fact that he'd settled in Mit Heights nearly six months ago was a shock. He'd grown to love this little town, the scenery and the atmosphere really feeling like 'home' for the first time in a long time. Add in that he was here with his boyfriend; Enzo was really living the life these days.
Along with traveling though - which was Enzo's favorite way to pass the time - he had a tendency to find things around town to spark his interest; Mit Heights was the carnival that was in town. He'd never really been a carnival ride kind of person - motion sickness was something he'd always struggled with - but the snacks at carnivals had always been his favorite. Popcorn from one stall, funnel cake from another, cotton candy at the end of the night with all the drinks in between. He wasn't one that liked to spend his money on useless things, but when it came to snacks and food, Enzo didn't hesitate. So as he stood, staring at the Ferris wheel with his popcorn in his hand, he nodded at the other's statement. "I don't get it either. I mean, I'm not scared of heights or anything, but if you're going to ride a Ferris wheel you might as well get on a plane." he laughed. Finally, Enzo looked over and realized that it was Levi he was talking to. "Oh, hey man. I got so used to seeing you around at the mountains I didn't even realize this was you I was talking to." he chuckled. "How are you doing?"
Levi looked over at the other, frowning at his statement, opening his mouth to say something before closing it, realizing he knew him but not immediately being able to place where from. "Oh you." he simply said, nodding. "I'm doing good, how about yourself? And what did you think I was some sort of mountain creature that you can only encounter on that specific mountain?" he said all serious even though he was joking.
Levi loved going to the mountains, he loved moving in general. Either with dance or other ways of exercise, it cleared his mind. Whenever he was dealing with stressful situations going for a jog or a particularly hard hike always got him through it, being able to clear his mind and put all facts together while his body was on the move. It's why he was in the mountains so often. He'd only settled down in mit heights six months ago, and in those six months he had spend the majority of his time either in his dance studio practicing or on the mountain, mainly because being new gave him anxiety. He didn't know anyone, or well he did Sasha but he still felt like shit for what happened between them, so other than that he was pretty much alone. So he was often away from the people, he'd become familiar with Enzo though, often seeing him take the same trails as him. It was nice to have someone around town who loved it as much as he did.
"You still ehm-- a dentist? Must be busy work." he smiled, hope growing inside of him at the way the other responded. "Oh-- I'm sorry to hear that." Levi said gently, he had never really thought they fit together. Even though he was friends with both, he could never wrap his head around why those two were together.
"I know, I'm sorry I-- some stuff happened and I just... I needed to leave. I -- I was scared of --" he stopped for a moment, feeling his eyes sting with tears as he recalled those times. "I ehm-- I had a lot of fights with my other friends... it was ... bad and I just-- I thought you'd hate me too." he admitted. "So I figured just- ignoring you was my only option. That way you -- you couldn't say you hated me." he said, taking a shaky deep breath trying not to be a grown man crying in the lobby.
He nodded "Yep... left my fathers office but at another and it's nice" he never liked the stress that he got working with his father. He knew it was nice thing, a good thing to have a father and son practice but Sasha wasn't into it. He looked away for a moment and let out a sigh. "Yeah..it's not the best but for the better..." he felt bad for it, for her what he did to his ex wife. That he hurt he and pretty much used her fir years. Leading her on after he knew he couldn't love her like he should.
He rubbed the back of his head, this was weird for them both for sure. "What do you mean stuff happened?" he asked as he looked around. "Do you want to go to my place... so it's more private?" he knew Enzo was working so he wasn't home right now. "But please I could not hate you... people make mistakes." Like he had, going out cheating o his wife and ended up with Enzo wasn't a good person thing at all. "But come on "he said leading the other to his place by putting his hand on the others back to support him and show him the way.
"Oh that's fantastic-- I mean you never seemed too keen on working with him forever." Levi joked lightheartedly. God Sasha had come far in life, and god how happy he was that Sasha was able to live his life the way he wanted to. "How long ago did ya'll-- call it off?" he questioned. "It's okay if you don't want to answer. I just-- I'd like to catch up, but I also understand if it's an uncomfortable topic." he smiled gently.
"I ehm-- I'd rather not... not talk about it here." he sighed, taking another shaky breath. "That'd-- that'd be lovely, if you'd be okay with letting me in." he smiled, a sad smile. "Oh you could." he sighed, all of them do he thought, but he couldn't get himself to say it out loud. Levi nodded, following after Sasha. "I love here too-- it's-- it's nice here huh?"
He looked around a moment, it felt a bit weird since it had been so long since he had seen the other. "Yeah a bit...but I am good you know working a lot" he still did it was never ending job really. He knew that Levi knew his wife and was her friend too but not as close as him and Levi once was Hearing what the other said he closed his and to hide the bare finger for a moment and rubbed the back of his head. "Umm" he sighed "No.. we divorced" another thing his family hated, they didn't think that was a real thing at all. It wasn't fun news but it had to happen with what Sasha had done.
He looked around a moment then back at his old friend. "It happens.. I did try to find you and like contact you for a while..." but he had to give up he had work and life and he could not stop it all for a friend. He knew the guy wouldn't be gone in bad way he have his reasons to go. "I am glad to see you again and that you are okay..." he smiled at the other.
That way you -- you couldn't say you hated me." he said, taking a shaky deep breath trying not to be a grown man crying in the lobby.
âAccording to the fortune teller, I am going to get married very soon. I didnât have the heart to tell her I just broke off my engagement.â Johnny said while walking away from the booth. âDonât believe everything TMZ tells you.â
Sasha had been living in the apartment for a few months now and was still getting used too it all. He did enjoy being around Enzo more that was the best part. Even know they were trying to be good with their own rooms still. But it was all a big change he went from home, to college, to living with his wife so it was lot going on. But he did remember Levi and how close they once were. But it was like one day he just went away and that was it. He did try to look for him for a bit but had to give up once his life started going. He was busy with work and trying to be married and be good man. So it got the best of him and he had moved own from his old friend.
But the new apartment and was really enjoying it. The apartment was very nice and close enough to his office and everything he did need. Today he was downstairs need the lobby to get the mail for the place. That he was stood by looking at what they had. Bills as always, spam stuff, legal papers still he sighed as he was almost wanting to read it now. But heard his name in a voice he knew? He turned and gasped. "Levi?" he said didn't think he would see him again. If you looked close enough you see the bare ring finger and the slight tan that was still left on the finger but he didn't even think of Levi notching that yet.
Levi smiled as the other recognized him, a hopeful smile. "It's ehm-- it's been a while. How-- how are you?" he questioned, almost breathless as he tried to push down the nerves. He looked the other up and down, making note of the missing wedding ring. He remembered how he used to tease Sasha about getting married so early, although he had wished him the best either way. "Is ehm-- your wife here too?" he asked carefully, he didn't want to assume based on the missing wedding ring alone.
He stood for a moment, just staring at his old friend, a mix of guilt and happiness swirling in his stomach. "I'm-- I'm sorry." he softly spoke, not daring to make eye contact. "I ehm-- I'm sorry I just disappeared on you. I'm glad we got to... meet again. And I hope you can maybe, hopefully, forgive me."
