whoops my hand slipped
Something I never really got the chance to address in my comic yet (partly because of personal discomfort) is the fact that Powers is considered “ugly” by angelic standards. She doesn’t have any gentle features, is bit stocky and has a very mean expression.
No one in heaven ever judges or mocks Powers for her appearance, but being surrounded by angels and seeing how angels are depicted in art often gets under her skin.
On the opposite end, Aurora knows that she’s beautiful and sees her beauty as a sign of her morality. She can’t do anything wrong ever because angels are beautiful, pure and divine while demons are ugly, sinful and full of hate.
(And yes, she does think Lili is ugly).
That finale destroyed me

My Post-war AU OBKK part 3: kids
Well, here comes nothing: today I will be talking about my fan kids of my favorite Naruto ship, Obikaka. This AU was boiling in my mind for almost a decade ever since I watched Naruto. And now it's finally time to let people judge how good I am at story writing. I will update this post later with designs of their kids because my drawing tablet decided to malfunction again and I have to figure out what is happening with it this time before I can draw anything. I'm really sorry🥲
Also, warning!
I'm talking about pregnancy and, technically, reproductive violence here, not in many details but still if that's triggering themes for you, read with caution.
First thing first, I was struggling with how they will get their children. Because there is two ways of how to do it without turning everything into omegaverse (which I didn't want to happen, I'm trying to keep it as close to canon as I can). So, here's two paths that I could go:
1. Naruto's Sexy Jutsu being useful as an actual Genderswap.
I'm not entirely sure who first came up with that idea but I saw it in multiple fics in my native language a long time ago so I guess it's something that fanon agreed upon. That Naruto's henge isn't actually just a henge but an actual medically accurate jutsu of changing biological sex.
2. Orochimaru's experiments.
I might not be interested in Boruto but I am aware about some things in it (I watched the first few arcs up until Sarada's gaiden ongoing when it first came out). I know that Orochimaru made himself (themself?) multiple sons, aka Mitsuki and his older copies.
So the question was what am I going to use as a canon for this AU? And, ultimately, I decided to use both. But in different ways: chars that are alive and thriving are using Sexy Jutsu for having kids and chars that are not alive will get kids through our snake mad scientist's experiments. I don't want Orochimaru to be softened like Boruto did, I want him to do what Segyeins did in Alien Stage: mix gens of deceased people in weird combos against their wishes. They are evil and messed up individual and I want it stay that way.
But let me get back on track before I get too distracted.
How did it happen that Obito and Kakashi got themselves a bunch of kids?
I imagine it being two years since Kakashi was appointed Sixth Hokage. Naruto and Sasuke accidentally found out that Sexy Jutsu wasn't just funny thing to mess with in bed when Sasuke got stuck as a girl for nine months (yes, you read it right, Naruto taught Sasuke how to use that jutsu and impregnated him on accident, oops... Well, he wanted to restore his clan so good for him, I guess?).
Now that the village knows that this jutsu is useful, elders kept demanding that Kakashi should have a kid with his partner because he no longer has excuse of not being able to have children because they are both male. To make sure that bloodlines of both Uchiha and Hatake won't disappear.
Their constant nagging pissed Obito, who at that moment was Kakashi's blind househusband under house arrest, off so much that he just decided to just agree to do it so they just fuck off and leave him and Kakashi alone. It's not like he has anything else to do at that point. Kakashi wasn't really sold on this idea until Obito said that he wants it. He didn't lie exactly but it wasn't fully thought through choice.
His seal was temporarily removed to let him use his chakra for that jutsu and he spent some time practicing before finally getting what elders of Konoha wanted.
It was on third anniversary of Kakashi becoming Hokage. Obito thought that was funny. That's how they got their first kid, Sakumo. Yes, Sakumo. Obito named their firstborn son that way because he is sentimental. Kakashi's dad was a turning point for their relationship, learning about him made Obito look at his arrogant teammate in different light and truly started their love story (even if they didn't realize that until much later).
Sakumo Hatake-Uchiha turned out to be exact copy of Kakashi as a pure coincidence. He got heterochromia, so even his only sharingan happened to be in the same eye that Kakashi used to have it. He is a genius but a bit more open-minded and level-headed than his dad used to be as kid. Sakumo inherited not only sharingan but also Obito's healing factor. His injuries heal much faster than any other shinobis except for Obito himself and jinchuurikis. He grew up to be ANBU agent later on.
Pregnancy was both an easy walk and an absolute disaster for Obito. He is a disabled person: half of his body is a plant and he is forced to be blind most of the time (the seal that blocks his eyesight and the one that takes his chakra are two separate things). Because of Hashirama cells he doesn't really feel some physical downsides of pregnancy, like nausea or certain pains like swelling. The mental damage, however, was horrible. He was already unstable as he was, add to it his Uchiha heritage with their hypersensitivity and hormones and you will get two miserable people living under the same roof.
And you know what? Obito decided that he wants to go through all that for a second time two years later. He is bored out of his mind, okay? He don't know what to do with himself and by doing that he wants to keep his body busy with something. I told you before that he is going through major crisis? That was the crisis I talked about in part 2 that made Kakashi finally notice that Obito is not okay. So, another almost ten months later after Sakumo turned three, his younger sister Haruka was born.
She is all Obito's younger self but in female body. Haruka is loud, hotheaded, a bit clumsy but ultimately kind and altruistic girl. She will become ninja medic and Sakura's student at some point in time. Unfortunately, she will not be able to use her sharingan almost at all. Her chakra reserves are very limited and sharingan eats them faster than it should. No one really knows why that happens but she has to wear glasses with special lenses.
Three more years pass and Naruto becomes Seventh Hokage, hooray! Now Kakashi can finally be free from the job he never wanted and spend time with his family... But you hear that? Obito and Kakashi are having a third kid but this time it was Kakashi who was thrown under the pregnancy bus. He didn't like it.
Unlike Obito, who got it relatively easy, at least physically, Kakashi was in misery. He was almost 40 by that moment and he doesn't have luxury of Hashirama cells taking away most of pregnancy downsides. Add Hatake's sensitive nose and craving for sweets, which he doesn't normally like, to the roster of all mental and physical problems that pregnancy is. Obito by that time was finally healing properly after everything he went through, he is finally learning to be himself again and building his own identity. He helps Kakashi as much as he can but still he teases him a lot, lightheartedly.
And that was the way they got their youngest child, Kaigaku. He is a perfect fusion of both his parents. He is smart, loyal, level-headed but kind, still a bit of a tsundere like kid!Kakashi used to be, especially around his rival (khem, crush, khem). He got sharingan, big amounts of chakra and, somehow, he inherited Obito's mokuton. No knows how that happened but it somehow did.
My Post-war AU OBKK part 2
In part 1, I was mostly talking about Obito, because... well, he is dead in canon, there are more blind spots to fill in with him. Kakashi, on the other hand, is very much alive by the end of Shippuden (I don't care what happens in Boruto in the slightest, I'm just as delulu as Obito and pretend that this whole series is just someone's fever dream in Infinite Tsukuyomi) and he doesn't really have all that much room for speculations. However, I still have a few things to say about him.
Kakashi has no freaking idea what he is doing. Let me explain: Obito is very much mentally unstable, even after Naruto-therapy or, as people call it in English, Talk-no-Jutsu. He is extremely traumatized, has very much no identity of his own and still is responsible for many crimes against shinobi world. Obito now has no social skills beyond manipulation tactics and adaptation to his environment, he is unsolicited. And on top of that he now has to deal with yet another disability, aka forced blindness via eye sealing.
And Kakashi himself has enough mental problems baggage to deal with Obito's mess of a mind. He still feels responsible for his teammate's downfall because it's Kakashi we're talking about. Add all his responsibilities as newly appointed Sixth Hokage and all that baggage of post-war political shenanigans and you will get a disaster waiting to happen.
I hate miscommunication as a trope in fiction but OBKK can't function without at least some of it in a certain period of time. They both have deeply rooted issues and they both need time to figure out how to live with them and with each other.
Maybe, I would've had more to say but I slept only 4,5 hours last night 🥲
UPD. I woke up and now I can continue what I didn't finish with this.
Kakashi is too overworked to notice that Obito is not healing and just adapting to what Kakashi wants to see in him. He is too busy fighting for Obito with other villages and Konoha's elders to realize that person who he is fighting for is sinking deeper into guilt and avoidance of his identity crisis that eats him alive. Kakashi doesn't realize that until it was almost too late.
Kakashi is trying but he is tired. Constantly. And it took him a major crisis to finally notice that Obito was just pretending to be normal again. He only pleased Kakashi because Kakashi is the only thing that keeps Obito alive. Obito doesn't know who he is but he wants Kakashi to be happy.
After that they both realize that they can't go back to what have been before: Obito will never be that innocent kid who was late because he wanted to help people and who gave Kakashi his left eye. But they can try to build something new with what they have now.
In part 3, I will talk about my OBKK fan kids, if you don't like that stuff you can skip it. I've been marinating with this AU for almost a decade so I have to do something about it.
A few fanons about my post-war AU OBKK
I love how 90% of OBKK fandom just agreed that alive Post-war!Obito is Kakashi's ex terrorist war-criminal househusband under house arrest. Not that I complain, though. Quite the opposite, I love that idea.
I also like to think that Obito is extremely upset about Naruto healing Kakashi's left eye. And even more upset about Madara ripping his Sharingan out of Kakashi's socket. Because that was his gift to him, the one that he never wanted back but now that Kakashi has his eye back he can't return things back to normal. It was something that connected them even in the darkest times, it was a piece of that innocent Obito that his adult self wanted to anchor himself to. You know, because he lost his own identity thanks to Madara and Black Zetsu?
I like to imagine that Obito had to be blind for the rest of his life because his eyes were sealed as a part of his punishment. He could take the seal away only in cases of danger for Kakashi (which isn't a lot, considering that he can protect himself perfectly fine) or a crisis that might be resolved with power of Kamui. By the way, Kakashi lets him walk around the house without a seal sneakily. Not that anyone needs to know.
And Obito grows out his hair a bit. No particular reason for that, I just like the way his hair looks in the scene where Rin died:
Not Madara's length (that would bring bad memories back) but I believe that Uchihas really look better with slightly longer hair than average shinobi would like. His hair stays white, though. You can't just become Juubito and reverse hair color back to black after that.
As I said in previous posts, I like to think that Obito and Kakashi are constantly fighting for being bottom in their relationship. Kakashi doesn't have any specific reason for that, he just enjoys that.
Obito, however, needs to be bottom to remind himself that he doesn't need to be in control, that someone else can be trusted to be above him. Pre-war he was always top in his one night stands where he was very rough with his partners (not that there were many of them, he didn't have motivation for being with someone) because of Madara's influence. He was impersonating Madara and Madara wasn't bottom to anyone (yeah, right, no Uchiha is top in my mind but shinobi world isn't ready to accept that). Post-war he wants to be vulnerable with someone, and that someone is Kakashi.
Kakashi didn't realize that for a long time because Obito was pleasing him a lot in attempts to avoid questions. I'm adopting the headcanon by @lishallii that Obito is pretending to be normal for him. He lost himself so long ago that he doesn't know who he really is anymore and he just learned to adapt to whatever people want him to be. Obito absolutely doesn't know how to be himself and Kakashi is too distracted with his duties as Hokage fixing all that bs that is shinobi world to notice that.
Lately, the concept of Obito celebrating Izuna's birthday instead of his own has been stuck in my head. Like... I have a headcanon that he hasn't celebrated his birthday since childhood because basically no one cares(Rin would have congratulated him, but he didn't want to bother her with such trifles, so he simply wouldn't tell her when his birthday was) But after meeting Madara, he sees that he remembers his brother on this day and adopts this habit at first to "maintain the image"(and perhaps to avoid thinking about who he was before and all that) and than just used to it. It's funny if you think about it in au where for some reason Obito returns to Konoha. Someone close to him is like
"Hey, bro, today is February 10th, congratulations...."
and this poor person is forced to watch as Obito is in absolute shock says something like
"Oh, shit, I almost forgot.. I'm sorry, I need to pray for the repose of my distant relative who died around the time of the warring states period"
Idk, It's pretty stupid, but I find it funny so yeah
Obito wrote fix-it fanfics about HashiMada as a genin. That's how Madara realized that he needed this particular child
Consider: an Obito who never got bouldered trying to bond with his best friend’s female student through #GirlActivities. Such as dissection and dubiously moral surgeries. Obito is 100% sure these are Woman activities because Rin did them all the time
I can’t hate any Naruto girl because I think all of them deserve to be even worse shittier people. And yet they are not. Sad
That's why I wholeheartedly ignore the author's intention to say Rin, had she been alive, would have sided with Obito, and in canon she likes him way more than she likes anyone and anything else cuz
Ah yes. Obito definitely kept working real hard to achieve the promise he told her... about becoming a hokage and saving the world. Surely he did... when he attempted to bomb their sensei's newborn in front of his parents just for revenge. which Rin is fully aware about, mind you, as she admitted her afterlife stalking
I genuinely can't believe Kishimoto managed to accidentally write a character as crazy as her
Kakashi should count himself lucky he didn't know Obito was alive or else he'd be doing the same fuck ass “...do you think of me even a little bit?” while laying on the floor like a wounded dog.
Obito uses Kamui to have a 5-minute break down, then comes back and acts like nothing happened. And this happens, like, every day
This is called being a responsible adult
My favorite Obito headcanon(at least one of them) it's that he has absolutely no idea what the fuck he looks like. He's been afraid to look in a mirror since he was 13(when he first saw his scars) And besides, he's nobody, no matter what he looks like, right?
I don't think he's insecure about the scars; he has much more serious issues, k? But he definitely doesn't want to see what he's become(and probably expects to see the worst)
Now that I think about it... how uncomfortable it must be to wear a mask 24/7
I'll never fall for sociopath Obito propaganda. His actions were dictated by excessive empathy, and it was precisely because of empathy that he could manipulate people around him
