I'm the Dancing Potted Plant. But you can just call me Dipp cuz that's a mouthful. I like to write stories about transformers, TF2, cookie run, dandy's world, and other hyper fixations, and draw random stuff here and there. Also, there will be spontaneous blurbs and thoughts every once in a while.
His petals reflect his health or emotions so the constant torment from his twisted self has dulled them due to stress.
He does his best to pretend like everything is fine, but his strained positivity can sometimes come off as bitter or sarcastic.
He sells items for taped episodes of his show or other programs. They’re the only thing keeping him grounded and in control.
When constantly denied tapes or other outside stimulation, his counterpart starts to gain strength to manifest, hence the cause of a “Dandy Run”.
He knew Sage early on due to Delilah wanting to see how he could handle interacting with another toon or children. They didn’t spend a lot of time together, but the hours they did spend felt priceless.
He sort of forgot about Sage until she suddenly reappeared after 9 years. Now he’s not quite sure how to handle it.
How did Shrimpo react when he opened the room and saw Sage Pothos? Did he immediately try to throw hands with someone almost double his height? Or, did he run away from a fight for once?
On the other hand, what was Sage Potho’s reaction to seeing someone else for the first time in (probably) years?
Little dude did not know how to react. He hated random dead bodies in weird rooms, but he also hated going near random dead bodies in weird rooms. So he slammed the door shut (not really, he tried to but he ain’t that strong) and stormed off like he never opened it in the first place. Only a sliver of light still managed to stream into the room.
Spoiler alert: She wasn’t dead.
This took me way to long to make and it don’t even look that good. (I definitely should’ve added more clutter and her old books and stuff to her room but my hand was ready to detach itself from my arm)
As requested, this is going to be a basic summary of my Dandy’s World AU, Roots of Hope.
Overview
This Dandy’s World AU is very similar to the setting the actual game is in, taking place 4 months after the incident that closed the Gardenview Center down for good, with a few changes. The most obvious change is the introduction of Sage Pothos, a hidden prototype toon accidentally created by Delilah in 1986 that spurred her research further into creating the toons we all know and love. No one knew Sage existed except for Walton and Delilah, who later locked her into the modified office space she was made in due to the hassle of monitoring her. Unfortunately, the two founders then forgot about their prototype, leaving Sage trapped in her dark birthplace for 9 horrifying years. That is, until the 4 months after the shutdown of Gardenview, when a certain crustacean decided to explore further into the staff-only rooms, pissed that one door in particular had a heavy-duty padlock.
The Toons
Everybody’s here! All toons are present in this AU, with some headcanons and plots to go with them. When they’re not doing runs to lower floors, they all congregate in the main lobby for socializing and recuperating. Each toon has their own sleeping quarters where they have privacy and the ability to rest for future runs. However, a wrench was thrown into their monotonous cycle when Sage was introduced. Most were understandably panicked at the realization that a big ass toon was somehow “living” amongst them without them even noticing. Some toons in particular were very suspicious of her sudden appearance. Her height and demeanor made them think it could be a trick to let their guards down. They keep an eye on her.
The Ichor Operation
There are some changes in this mechanic of the game. While the toons do go down for things like tapes for buying items from Dandy and research to better understand the twisteds, they also go down to find food and other supplies hidden or left by the staff, seeing as they don’t really have any other ways of getting any sustenance other than candy and pop. Unfortunately, they need to go further and further down to find as much resources as possible but most of the time they have to cut things short when morale is low and the twisteds become overwhelming.
Twisteds
Twisteds in this universe are less of what the toons turn into, and more of what forms the ichor itself chooses to take. Ichor in this AU is almost like a slime mold to some extent. It can spread out and break off, but still remains one individual mass. Unable to form anything on its own, the ichor chooses to manifest into the worst parts or the fears of the toons, morphing into more horrifying versions of their original counterparts with unique characteristics and behaviors. Hence why a normal toon can be face to face to a nightmare version of themselves. Since the main toons were made out of a different concentration of ichor compared to the rest of the bunch, their twisted forms sense the density and accommodate by making them significantly larger. Ichor in this universe is supposed to be this versatile and unpredictable substance.
Dandy
Dandy is a special case in this AU. After the paralyzing shock of Gardenview closing, Dandy still did his best to remain chipper and hopeful for his friends despite his very reason for existence being gone. However, hope can be a fleeting thing. After the first month of wandering aimlessly through the lobby and lying alone with his thoughts, something changed. The doubtful voice in his head started to sound less like himself and more like a different person talking to him entirely. That’s when he had his first nightmare of the twisted, mutated version of himself. It fed him degrading words of hate and lies, forcing him to flee into the lower floors just to find a sliver of peace, unknowingly leading him to sickening realization. His mind was now split in two. Himself, and a part of him that grew consciousness out of the immense stress and fear Dandy was experiencing. He now monitors the Ichor Operation under his alternate’s command, looking for supplies and snacks he could sell for tapes, the very thing keeping his violent counterpart at bay. This stress distanced himself from his fellow toons, he thought it would be better this way. The further they are, the less pain he could inflict. Now, he’s not sure if he can keep up the act with a strangely familiar face suddenly appearing out of the blue.
After being freed from her birthplace, Sage is now in the company of the toons she only saw in the tattered posters along her walls. Now, she needs to come to the realization that things aren’t what they used to be, and that she has to help these toons in their fight for survival, or go insane trying.
Additional Notes:
This is a hyperfixation that mutated into me creating a whole ass AU on these silly goofy characters from a silly goofy game on Roblox.
Not everything in this AU is fully fleshed out and I’m just gonna roll with the punches.
I love making art for this AU, but sometimes shit doesn’t wanna look right and it pisses me off, so bear with the fact that most content is probably gonna be in writing.
Questions and comments will gladly be answered, but I get bad burnouts sometimes so keep dat in mind.
How did the other toons react to Sage Pothos's sheer height/size compared to the rest of them? She's 5 ft and most of the other toons are only around 2-3 ft feet tall, if I remember correctly.
Good quesh! In this AU, the toons are around 3-4 feet in height purely as a style choice! (Sprout being the tallest at 4’6). When Sage eventually left her room, the first toon who saw her (besides Shrimpo) was Tisha. Let’s just say she lost it. She thought a twisted somehow managed to get into the Gardenview Lobby, and Sage’s disoriented stance and overgrown hair and vines covering her face were NOT doing her justice.

I think Sage would be iffy with everyone at first, but wouldn’t take long for her to open up. However, due to her isolation period, she’d be a little oblivious to certain social queues.

Sage, or Sage Pothos, if you wanna be formal, was a toon created entirely by accident.
After the construction of Gardenview and the concept of creating living toons was placed in Arthur and Delilah's minds, Delilah immediately went into researching the ichor and ways to give life to the charming cartoon characters they know and love. One day, in 1986, after countless of sleepless nights and having reached nowhere with the miscellaneous goop, Delilah accidentally knocked her neglected flowerpot gifted to her by Arthur into a vat of ichor she was sampling. Before she could react, the vat shook and rattled until it toppled over with a sickening shatter. Realizing she might've woefully fucked up, Delilah tried to prevent the mess from causing any more damage, but stopped when she saw her, still perfectly intact, flowerpot peeking from the black puddle. Only, it was bigger, and now had big cartoony eyes, a mouth, and a body fully equipped with two pairs of limbs. If that didn't shock Delilah, then the little creature muttering gurgled words definitely did. Having realized that she just created life out of the ominous liquid, Delilah quickly notified Arthur, and the eagerness to explore this new ability exited them both. Delilah gave her little prototype a name, Sage Pothos. Soon, she and Sage began interacting often, never leaving the room she was made in. Delilah spent days researching Sage. Her speech development, her coordination, and after showing her a taped gardening documentary on an old television, she even discovered Sage's little flowerpot head actually had maintained the ability to grow almost any plant she saw. Fueled by increased data, Delilah made sure to supply Sage with things she gained interest in. Sage read any nature book front to back till she memorized all of the facts by heart, and watched recorded mating displays between Sandhill Cranes and alligators with wide eyes and even wider smiles. Plants, animals, gardening, and nutrition where all on the table for her and she enthusiastically told Delilah about every single one of her "discoveries" with beaming pride.
Everything seemed to be going quite smooth for Delilah as well. A year went by and her prototype was developing well, she was gaining excellent research for future projects like Dandy and his friends (like making the actual toons smaller, because having a toon being almost 5'0 would be a little off putting to parents and children), but she hit a roadblock when she walked in on Sage curiously reading a document on the Dandy's World cartoon and its future episodes. Struggling with telling the truth while locking directly onto eager eyes filled with hope, Delilah awkwardly mentioned that maybe one day she could meet "the others like her" and venture outside of her room to show "the people" her fun facts and knowledge. However, Arthur made it very clear that Sage was never going to leave her room. Her unruly appearance and inconsistent height with the blueprints for the main toons would clash with the very specific design he was trying to perfect. So Sage was unknowingly dreaming of a future that would never exist. Yet, she began practicing manners, working on conversation starters, organizing every tape and knickknack, even getting into Delilah's bookshelf of more "advanced" topics to try and make herself as interesting and likable as possible. Until she was sitting in front of her T.V listening to a woman talk about vegetables and the importance of a varied diet.
Delilah walked in with a rainbow flower.
Sage got a long well with the flower, recognizing his face as Dandy from the old posters on the wall. They introduced themselves, their nervous dispositions soon melting away. They talked enthusiastically for hours, from his cartoon, to what they wanted to be in the future, to wondering how many candies they could fit in their mouths. But those moments were short lived as Delilah finished writing on her clipboard then gruffly telling Sage to let go of his hand as she lead Dandy out the door. But not before Dandy and Sage waved goodbye to each other, both gleefully wishing to see the other again.
Over the course of another 3 years, Sage couldn't help but notice Delilah's increasing distance from her. Those cheerful visits from her bringing new nature books or tapes with "secret" handfuls of candy and chocolate were nothing but a memory now. Even worse, Sage started to hear voices of laughter and foot traffic below her. She started to wonder; why couldn't she go out and see them? where was it coming from? Are they from more people like Delilah? They sounded like children's laughter from Dandy's cartoons, where was Dandy? Why couldn't she see him again? Did he not want to see her? Those little sparks of confusion turned to anger, and that anger morphed into sadness. Sage often laid in her sleeping corner of her room with her little shoot from her head wilting, those same questions nagging her brain like a woodpecker to a tree.
Delilah was running into an equally conflicting issue. Delilah was tired of taking care of Sage. Between managing the other toons, looking after her prototype, and conducting more tests on the ichor, she was running around like psychopath. Even Arthur claimed that her attention was spread too thin, driving her attention away from more valuable tasks. Up until he finally declared that it was time to get rid of the one thing that was bothering them both. At first, Delilah was appalled at the very thought of terminating her first successful project after their years of tribulations, wanting to preserve her first successful experiment for future use and development. However, in an effort to create a middle ground, she made a deal with Arthur.
Delilah opened the door into Sage's room for the last time, carrying a box full of tapes, books, and candy. Sage noticed her blank expression and heard her monotone replies, but she still held on to that small fleck of hope that said Delilah still cared. She tried to show Delilah the little flower she managed to grow in the little plastic cup she found one day, forcing a hopeful smile. When great didn't work, she then rushed to show her the food pyramid she made last week out of paper and craft supplies and voiced how she'd bet the "audience" would love to see it. But when Delilah shut off the lights to the room with a key and uttered the words "Goodbye Sage" she broke. Sage screamed "WAIT!" as she rushed to her and grabbed Delilah by the sleeve of her jacket, her voice cracking and wavering, practically begging to know where she was going and when she could come out, tears threatening to spill from her eyes as Delilah forcefully yanked her sleeve out of her shacking hands. Sage broke down on her knees as tears began streaming from her face, as her hands clutched her vine-hair. Dark, thorny roots began clawing out of her head, her little green shoot wilting weakly. Delilah attached a padlock to the outside of the door as she told Sage that she was never going to leave, and that this will benefit both of them in the future as the last sliver of light from the outside left with the sickening slam of the door.
The door was locked, she was stuck, and she looked through that hidden one-way window till she couldn't bear to look at it at all, blocking it with anything she could find. She read every book, watched every tape, and used all of the crayons to nubs as she waited and looked at the door, hoping for it to open. She waited and waited and looked and looked into the darkness until she couldn't tell if her eyes were open or closed. After she cried every tear, scratched every surface, and dreamt every nightmare, she finally closed her eyes.
Then she slept, and slept,
and slept...
