...been listening to Ethel Cain's new release 'Perverts' a lot these past few days, the soundscape on this release is so haunting and surreal, its like Nine Inch Nail's 'Still' meets Chelsea Wolfe's 'Abyss', FVNERAL's 'Let the Earth Be Silent' and the 'Eraserhead' soundtrack. Its like a fever dream, or a soundtrack to a David Lynch film that never was. Absolutely loving this challenging body of work, not sure if I could call this an album or EP or just an art experiment, its an experience for sure, and everyone will experience it differently, the music, the noise, the droning sounds, the ghostly vocals, this is the kind of sound I yearn for on icy cold winter nights...
