{Dealer's Den} {Trello} {Main} Fursuit making collection ☼ I don't take commissions and I currently don't plan to. I would hear out suggestions for stock items, though! {Portfolio} {Material Stock}
This is Nibby, my first fursuit ever! The tail is a super motion tail patterned by Neffertity, the paws are the pattern by FreakHoundStudios, and the eye blanks are from SpiltGrapeSoda. Everything else is completely custom by me, including the head base made of EVA foam. Additionally, since the eyes are painted with oil paint and the glue is water resistant, the entire suit can be washed and has no concern of water damage. The tongue is attached by velcro and can be positioned multiple ways for the desired level of goofy mode. This video has a closeup of the head details.
sunspot paws (august 2024) and ears (october 2023)
sunspot is a character owned by the lovely @wolftome that i was commissioned to make both ears and paws for! i love how these fuzzy paws came out, and for my first time making floppy ears i think theyre pretty cute (though i never got any good pictures of them). took around 30 hours.
swiftwing mini partial head details! this will be a fullsuit eventually, but this is where it started. my second fursuit head on a base i made myself; the jaw movement isnt whats implied by the mockup in the second picture, mostly due to this base being really tight. i definitely wanted it to be form fitting, but a lot of interesting issues arose from that, namely that the base was pulled out of shape once it was attached to the headpiece and i needed to add foam to return it to the intended shape. unfortunately means ill have to rework my base before i make it public, but im still quite happy with overall.
These were incredibly challenging, but I'm so proud of them and happy to have them finished!!
LEDs: FuzzButtFursuits
Fur: Howlfabric
Music: Sinking your toes into warm sand by SteviaSphere
Pattern: Based off FreakHoundStudios, but I altered it quite a bit for rounder, fluffier kitty paws and for a useable dewclaw.
If you wanted tips on making your own LED paws, my first word of advice is don't! But if you're stubborn, I've written up what I learned and would do differently next time. But there probably will not be a next time unless I lose my mind 🤞
It's worth mentioning that my personal style of fursuit making is sleek and form fitting; I want my pieces to feel more like an extension of the wearer, rather than a cartoony plush costume. It's just my preference! As such though, I left as little wiggle room for installing these lights as possible, and I have no idea if this would be physically possible if you don't have tiny baby hands like me. If you want to do this, you'd probably want to go with a big chunky paw design to save yourself the incredible struggle.
The most important thing I learned is that you're going to want to use the method of pawpad making that slots them in the fur like a pattern piece, rather than sewing them overtop of the fur. The fur will block out the light, as I learned when i had to cut out the fur backings from all the pads and glue in fabric to hold the stuffing in place. I did, in fact, end up cutting one of the palm pads, and having to completely rip out and remake it after the rest of them were finished.
It may have made more sense to install the lights before turning out the paws, but there were several reasons why I didn't think this would work any better than shoving them in the paw after it was complete. First, since my paws are so form fitting like I said, I really don't think the lights actually would've stayed in place through the trauma of turning them out. Also, the way I made the lining, I installed a little zipper in both paws so that the wires and battery pack stay contained between the raw fur and the lining. In retrospect, I may have been able to attach the lining to the back of the paw and access the pads before I turned the paw out, but... Idk, my brain just wasn't able to conceptualize getting the lining right that way, since the zipper needed to be on the paw pad side.
Originally, I tried using velcro so that the lights could be completely removeable, but you're going to need a pretty strong hold to keep them in place and it just didn't work. So, I ended up completing the paws entirely before gluing the lights in. Again, I have no idea how you'd do this with even average sized hands. I ended up turning the paw inside out up to the palm pad, installing those lights really firmly with hot glue, and then putting it back to do the rest. I would tape down the wires after every 2 of them so I had room to get the light to where it needed to be before the glue cooled. (I could have possibly used a different glue for this, but. I didn't have any! So I simply accepted getting burned a lot. My hands are very rough so it really doesn't hurt me, don't worry :> )
I held the lights like this as to protect the glue as I shoved them in and tried to get them in place inside the openings I left in the paw pads. (The failed velcro was at least useful for having an exact spot to be glued, so it wasn't a total loss.) Each light probably took at least 3 or 4 tries to get in without all the glue rubbing off, or cooling before I could get it in place. It was terrible. I was sweating, cities were burning, beer was flowing. I am so proud of these and happy I made them, but I desperately do not ever want to go through this ever again. If you wish this torture for youself, then godspeed and good luck o7
also check out steviasphere for real all their music is free to use vaporwave/chillwave bops and theres SO MUCH of it. ok thx love u
A practice project as a gift for a friend, as I wanted to get a hang of airbrushing and shaving. My second tail and first pair of ears; I may end up remaking the ears as I've made serious improvements since these.
First WIPS for my first premade! The design itself is simple, but this holographic is so cool I've made it the staple of the design. This is only my second pair of paws, but I spent a lot of time on them and I think they came out really good. I altered Freakhoundstudio's paw design a bit to make the dewclaw wearable; I like how it looks, but the fit is kind of... not quite there? In the future I'll probably make it a little larger to be more comfortable and useable.
I can't decide if I should release the concept art now or wait for the end? I think the head might be surprising just based on these pieces.
My shop logo, plus the lines and block used to make the linocut prints of it. You now get one of these in every order as a thank you card, and I may mix up the paper and ink colors going forward ;3
This high quality nub tail is made from soft fur and contains a wire that makes it poseable. It also features a bit of airbrushing to add a gradient to the tip of the tail; this may vary slightly from product photos. It is stuffed mostly with scrap, cubed EVA foam and some polyfill. Seams are machine sewn and durable. Priced $50+Shipping.
Nibby progress; head - base made February 23, completed April-May 23
I started Nibby's head in February and then got injured right after and didn't pick it up again until April. I was really apprehensive about every step of the process, but as soon as I just started doing it, it fell together pretty quickly.
Nibby progress; tail and paws- From December 22/January 23
First tail and first pair of paws. All the considered, my worst mistakes here were material choices; the claw and pawpad fabric I used frayed horribly, as well as the stripey fabric that lined the channel in the tail. They're a little scrungly but I'm quite proud of them for being my firsts.

The first model, and one of the earlier demos of my canine base. At least the first five were genuinely unusable, and I actually can't even find pictures of them; it took a lot of fiddling to get them here, but I'm still really proud of the fact that I managed to pattern them at all.
Closer to the current iteration.
Demos for different ear styles. I haven't actually used any of these
A few retroactive posts to show my progress- From September-October 2022
I'd made a cosplay in 2022 with EVA foam and then I didn't know what to do with all the tools and materials I'd gotten for it, so I went to see if anyone was making head bases with the stuff. At the time, I found almost nobody, but Mugiwaracosplay had some patterns, so i started making those. These were some of the very earliest. This lining was also the first pattern i ever made myself, and I still think its pretty solid.
These are both Mugiwaracosplay patterns. I'm still using their Angel Dragon base, as I don't really have any desire to make my own, but as far as everything else goes, I want to pattern my own with my own unique style.
