Since 2005, I’ve been on a journey with 5 people who became my best friends, my brothers. They’ve been making music together since the turn of the century, calling themselves Kaddisfly. I loved what they did so much, I joined their effort to spread their sound and message any way I could, spending years on the road and in the studio. Through all the ups and downs, all the wins and losses. It was all worth it.

8 years ago, the first demos were recorded for what was to be ‘Horses Galloping on Sailboats’, the 3rd in a trilogy of albums following ‘Buy Our Intention; We’ll Buy You a Unicorn’ and ‘Set Sail the Prairie’. After another year and half of writing in-between tours, progress halted as lives changed and people went in different directions, just as momentum seemed to be leading to something bigger.
It was disappointing for us and anyone who was looking forward to what may have come next. But, we all knew that someday the time would be right. It was only on hold. This story could not go unfinished.
Desire never faded. The conversation never completely halted.

Two years ago, the pieces were put back together and the journey resumed. It began with the solid base of what had been created years earlier, and some old ideas gave way to newer, stronger ones. The energy was vibrant.

As time and space allowed, the layers of the songs were put to recorded media, tediously arranged, rearranged, and carefully formed until it was finally the completed vision it was meant to be. All of this done independently and without oversight. Pure.
The result, I say wholeheartedly, is beautiful. It is unique. It is both of this world and of others. It is Kaddisfly.
