Of course I can’t ignore messages! Who do you think I am? I think I did ignore some messages at one point in my life, and it still haunts me. Nevermore!

The fact that somebody reads my posts from two years ago, fills me with hope like nothing else. The fact that there are mistakes in them, plants a seed of despair inside me. It’s not like I want to discuss this matter any further, but it bothers me nethertheless.

After all the stuff they made different between DR2 (game) and DR3 (anime) - like the origin of Chiaki, and the process of falling into despair - it’s hard for me to take all of this serously. I personaly don’t even consider DR3 canon. But:

As for DR2, its story is told in a way that after some consideration, only one conclusion makes sense to me. I think “Junko’s dedcendant” is the AI at the end of DR2, and the “gray dude” (who is Kamukura, by the way, as all 5 of people described as doing awful things in that scene - are all survivors of DR2 events and are present on screen during the explanation, so it can’t be Mikan, as she is not there)... so the “gray dude” is making an AI out of Junko in that panel. Maybe he is using a device to make a brain imprint of a dying Junko (and is making a disgusted face), or maybe he is, idk, furiously typing on a keybord in a prossess of designing the said AI (and the AI is not working at this point, so he is also shouting curses at the computer screen)... In any case, that’s what it is.

I just finished Danganronpa V3. About 15 minutes ago. Somehow I avoided being exposed to any spoilers, so everything was a big surprise for me. And I liked it! Now I think I’ll unblock all the danganronpa tags and keywords and finally see some fan art and stuff. I might even revive this blog. Please kindly welcome me into the fandom again.

I bought myself a copy of DanganRonpa V3 last week. I’ll play it really soon, I hope. As a side effect, I’ll reanimate this blog. Not right now, but also soon. And I won’t be posting a lot of V3 until I finish it. So I’ll reanimate this blog with DR2 and sometimes DR1. I’ve realized I had an assortment of unpublished drafts and unuploaded gifs. So it’s all good news.

Until I saw your icons I never realized "55" was on the back of Nagito's coat. I wonder if it stands for anything or it's just there.

I’ve always known this, but I still don’t know what it really means. I’ve read something about how “55″ visually resembles a swastika, and it makes sense in a way. I’ll elaborate:

“55″ looks like swastika, which was originally a symbol of luck, among its other meanings (’sun’, in other variations). Nagito is lucky, so he might have something with lucky symbolism on him: a print or an accessory. Lucky clover obviously doesn’t suit Nagito - too cute and girly. And I’m not even sure if the clover symbol is popular in Japan. And swastika is - because it originates from eastern religions. Japanese don’t have any prejudice towards swastika (either because they remember its original meaning better, or because they supported Hitler in WWII), so putting on a swastika as a lucky charm is okay for them.

But apparently the authors thought about how it would be seen by western audience, so they censored it by turning it into a number. I think they would leave a swastika there if they were aiming for a Japanese audience only. Look at other examples of an uncensored and censored swastikas. One of them is Ichigo in Bleach who had a swastika-shaped sword hilt on occasions; it was not censored. In One Piece there was a giant swastika tattooed on Ace’s back when the character was first introduced, but later the symbol was made into something similar, but not looking as a swastika. So it’s quite common. 

I don’t want to think about how it can be not “55″ but “SS” in a square font written on Nagito’s back. It still has a connection to nazi symbolism, and to a sun symbol through an S-rune. This is far-fetched though. Maybe the swastika part is far-fetched, too.

Also, I’m not an expert on any of this. I just googled some facts, remembered some examples, and made up some connections. And I think lots of people have a ton of words used here blocked, so chances anyone reads this are not really high.

A question to gif-makers, people with epilepsy, and anyone else with an opinion

I’ve got a strange ask about my tags. I can’t answer it publicly because it came from something that I personally classify as an original porn blog, and I don’t want to have that kind of links here, sorry. And I won’t answer it directly because I need to know the public opinion. So. The asker told me to retag my flashing GIFs:

This is very polite and strangely logical even if it’s a porn bait or something coming from that kind of address. The last flashing gif I made was uploaded here about half a year ago, so it’s kind of strange that people who need a safe place for their epilepsy discussions still stumble upon my gifs. It’s not like they are even that popular. The most viewed one has something about 200 notes (yes, please, like my gifs more). Some time ago I’ve added those tags because I was asked to do so by a different person (in asks or in comments - I don’t remember). It never came to me naturally that I should use those tags. Now I’m tagging and retagging everything over and over, and it stresses me out.

So. In case I’ll go back to making DanganRonpa gifs (which is very likely): what’s the correct way to tag all that flashing disasters that I tend to procure? I’ve left the [#epilepsy warning] tag for now.
