Might as well be since I know Tall, Sleek, and Handsome take his eyes off'a me long enough to think of what t'say.
BUT UPON MUCH THOUGHT, I am now wondering how...How to take this question seriously.
Rick is. Uh. Marginally deluded. l: Thinks what he wants to think, hears what he wants to hear, sees what he wants to see. Yes means yes, no means eventually yes. That kind of thing. But everything's...not serious to him? Unless it's adventuring, and even then, he just makes it up as he goes. All improv, no planning too far ahead. Or at all. Just rush in, crack skulls, take names.
So I wonder if Rick would see when someone has genuine interests and register that? Messing around with VLaDOS is one thing: It's all kinds of fun, so why wouldn't anyone do it? But he's more focused on Adventuring, yeah?

I just woke up and this is what I'm thinking about.
I am going to sit on this and think about it more while nursing this sickness.

So Rick.
Let's talk about Rick. If Rick flirts with all the ladies, how does he feel about men?
Rick wasted no time on laying it thick on Chell. Didn't even have to know her name, or know her prior. He knew she was a pretty lady and things looked like trouble--and a core like him was MADE for trouble. Perfect situation for him to really show off his stuff, which, for a core, isn't much. Let's face it. So he made it clear he'd either take over (to which we can assume she silently ignored him/denied him), then said he'd play her back up (to which we can assume she silently ignored him/denied him), and eventually resorted to just being her personal cheer squad. Guy's pretty resilient. But you know, he's respectful of the fact this lady's got things mostly under control, so he'll just edge on in wherever she allows. Lady's got him in check. He can dig it.
Now as for males, the only 'males' we've got on hand are The Fact Core, Wheatley, and the Space Core. With Wheatley, Rick entered in when the guy was causing problems for this lovely young lady, and he was all for pummeling him to the moon. Ain't proper to go around beating up on ladies. Guy deserves it! And he wastes no time in calling Wheatley weak or flimsy--I think if the circumstance was not Wheatley being mad with power and he was just around, Rick'd have a blast rustling up Wheat's patience. Calling him a china cabinet, a limp noodle, wimp, whatever other creative names and comparisons he can think of, etc etc.
Now, there's nothing specifically in canon regarding direct interaction between other cores (save for Wheatley and Space, then the small offshoots pointed at Wheatley during the final battle), but there's unused soundbytes lying around--for all of the cores. So it's a safe bet to use them in a little logically composed headcanons, yeah?
So the Fact Core. Rick hates this guy. Smart ass waltzing around thinking he's all that and calling Rick out on stupid crap. First chance he gets when he's properly riled up, Rick would punch his lights out just because he can, and that's a fact. The Fact Core annoys him and is the quickest at getting Rick to lose his cool. And he talks a lot. About boring stuff. Not even about adventuring or useful stuff--he just TALKS. Bookish type that's never done a single exciting thing in his damned life, and Rick really just can't begin to convey how much that just irks him. They're total opposites as far as Rick's concerned, with absolutely no shared interests.
And the Space Core? It's about the same deal with regard to how much this kid jabbers on, but instead of a whole slew of uninteresting topics, it's just. the. one. topic. Over and over. Rick's fairly patient with the kid, but god, what he wouldn't give to have him shut up once in a while. Five minutes without some outburst about space. Space isn't even all that exciting. ~Final frontier.~ Pfft. Rick's been there and done that with Space and Wheatley, even though he was adventuring on his own and a little further away from the two, and for a guy like Rick? Space is just a whole lotta space and a whole lotta boring. And the Space Core is annoyingly obsessed with something boring, which just drives Rick up the wall. The kid's tenacity and interest in adventuring into the unknown is all good and well, but geez. Motormouth. Rick's reasonably patient, but like I mentioned before, Rick's easy to run up the wall in some cases.
And with GLaDOS, he doesn't have canon interaction with her, but I generally feel he'd latch onto her if Chell was not a factor or if Chell was gone (only woman around and she's a beautiful piece of machinery, so ain't he a lucky guy?). After all, who doesn't like a lady who can take charge? Then the whole Adventure thing--and GLaDOS would provide to keep him busy as well as to make testing interesting. Pretty logical stuff, I figure. Can't have enough willing and able test subjects.
So now we move to Riley.
And just in case you're not informed, in the general genderbend universe:
Chell => Ciel
Wheatley => Whitney (or whatever other femme names this fandom gives her)
GLaDOS => VLaDOS
Those are the main ones I remember, can't recall Fact or Space. l:
Riley's still got the hots for Ciel in this end of the multiverse, but as this is post-game for Portal 2, Ciel's long gone. And that means she's got VLaDOS all to herself. l: And VLaDOS is just such a great guy, giving Riley all these dangerous tests to do to keep her satisfied and active (and to keep himself sane as well as occupied).
She still hates the Fact Core, and is moderately annoyed by the Space Core.
But what if Riley met Chell? Chell's just Ciel, but a female, so no big deal right? And she's not the Fact Core nor the Space Core--in fact, this girl's mute so far as Riley's concerned, so she's got no reason to be annoyed with Chell. I'd venture to say a healthy rivalry might be kept. In Riley's head anyway (idk if Chell would want anything to do with Riley's shenanigans, but she probably doesn't have a choice l: ). She'd be real buddy-buddy with Chell, drag her along on adventures, show off a whole bunch to try and get Chell to join in on the fun. Same thing if Rick met Ciel. A little healthy competition, paling around--fun stuff. Doesn't see the Mute as a threat to the facility. Totally unaware of the test subject's history 'cept for the fact they saved it. Still good-looking, but Riley/Rick wouldn't point it out as often for Chell/Ciel, respectively. For Riley, the game doesn't become, "Win over the Mute test subject/Get a rise out of them," but rather one of "Let's see if you can keep up/Who can do this stuff better."
As for other ladies, I suppose it's case by case. Which is sort of a cop-out answer, but it really is. Riley can either really hate you or really like you. Generally, if you're a boring sort, she ain't got the time of day to mess with you. Male or female, you need to have a little spunk, and the good kind. The Fact Core's brand of sass is definitely not the good kind, for example.
But Riley's all about the guys. She knows a beautiful lady when she sees one, but that doesn't mean she's gotta be some form of intimately attracted. Aesthetic appreciation!
But alright, she doesn't flirt with all of the m--
...Well, let me amend that. She does flirt, and she does dish out compliments on pretty much all of the handsome fellas she comes across. But it never goes beyond that. Lady's got an eye for nice aesthetics, but she's only got her sights set on one target. Biggest challenge this adventurer can undertake. Heh.
Riling up the Mr. Boss Man's the most fun she's had anyway.
In sum though, it's all case by case, and more importantly, it's more based on if you're boring as all hell or the perfect kind of contender.
