Your Presence Lord

In Genesis 1:28 God commands Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply saying, “unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply”.  After the flood, God tells Noah to be fruitful and to multiply as well.  In Genesis 9:1 where, “God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth”.  

God wanted Adam and Eve to subdue the earth and have dominion. However, the enemy took dominion over Adam and Eve.  The enemy does not want humanity to be fruitful and to multiply and operate in dominion.

One way that the enemy tried to block man-kind from being fruitful and multiplying was by sending the spirit of Herod.  The spirit of Herod pursues things in infancy to destroy them so that they cannot reach maturity.  Herod in Matthew 2:16 saw that he was mocked and, “slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under”.  

If the spirit of Herod cannot block fruitfulness and multiplication then the spirit of contradiction tries to creep in.  According to Psalms 127:3, “children are an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is his reward”.  Since children are a heritage and a reward of the Lord, they are one of the most vulnerable populations.  They are attacked, because of that.  

The enemy is trying to influence our children to live without the presence of God in their lives by bringing confusion to God’s word.  The enemy deceived Eve by questioning what God spoke.  As part of their punishment for disobedience, Adam and Eve lost the ability to be in the presence of God.

Satan was once an Angel who dwelled with God, but through his desire to be like God he was cast out of the presence of God in heavenly realm and thrown down into the earthly realm. Satan hates man-kind and does not want us to occupy a position that once belonged to him.

Satan’s deception caused both Adam and Eve to lose the ability to be in the presence of God.  The same way that the enemy approached Eve in the garden is the same way that the enemy is trying to attack our children.  The enemy wants to bring confusion to the word of God so that we question what it says. Did God really say that?

Not only does Satan want us to question the word of God he wants us to question the voice of God.  When God speaks, whatever he says is established in the earth.  In Genesis, he said let there be and there was.  What he spoke became law.  The world was framed by his words.

If the enemy can get us to question the voice and word of God that can lead us to act in the sin of disobedience which will separate us from the presence of God and lead to death.  For the wages of sin is death.  Eventually God will turn us over to ourselves and we will have a reprobate mind.

We need to protect the presence of God in our lives by not attaching ourselves to people, places, ad things that would cause deception to come to the word and voice of God in our lives.  

We need to get thirsty for the presence of God.  When we acknowledge the presence of God then he will direct our paths.  The writer acknowledged God and cried out for his presence in Psalms 51:11 saying “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me”.

Don’t Stop Until You Get It Right

In order to move ahead in life sometimes one has to release their past.  As a Christian, in order to move forward one needs to release old mindsets and old behaviors so that they can embrace all that God has in store for them.  Romans 12:2 shows, that one can be “transformed by the renewing of their mind”.  

Your mind is the place where you make decisions.  You must decide to let things go as well as decide to move forward.  In Philippians 3:13-14 the Apostle Paul says “this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  

The Apostle Paul decided he would do something so that he could get to the reward of the high calling of Jesus Christ.  The word do is present tense meaning “to bring to pass” or to “execute” as stated by http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/do. The Apostle Paul had to put into effect forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forth.  Forgetting and reaching are both verbs. Verbs signify an action.  Again, one has to decide to do something.

Not only did the Apostle Paul have to forget what was behind and reach forward, the Apostle Paul had to press toward the mark.  The word press comes from the word pressure.  Pressure is defined as “the weight or force that is produced when something presses or pushes against something else” according to http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pressure. The word press is also a verb, which signifies an action.

In order to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, one has to push to get to the past the weight or force that is coming against them to get to the location of the reward of the high calling of Christ.  One has to push past the weight to get in the right position and in the right standing to reach a specified elevation to the work that a person does or should be doing.

To move forward in all that God has for you, you must decide to forget your past.  You must decide to reach for your future.  You must also press and push against anything that is trying to stop you.

Expand Your Territory

The time is now to take territory back for the kingdom of God. As you go foth focus on Jesus. Take no thought to what the cost will be.  The benefit is greater.  In Matthew 6:31 Jesus says “therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things”.  Jesus goes on to say in verse 33 “but seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.

When you seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness all these things will be added unto you. Not only do you need to seek God.  You need to ask God as well.  Matthew 7:7-8 says “ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

This season is the time to expand and enlarge the territory of the kingdom of God.  In order to expand and enlarge territory one must “stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes” as Isaiah 54:2 states.  Now is not the time to be held back, because of fear, but to go forth in power and authority.  

One person who had the audacity to ask for his territory to be expanded was Jabez.  Jabez called on God and his request was granted.  1 Chronicles 4:9-10 shows that

Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Some interesting things about Jabez are that he was notated as being more honorable then his brethren even though his mother bore him with sorrow.  Sorrow can be defined as “distress caused by loss, affliction, disappointment, etc.; grief, sadness, or regret”.  Sorrow can also be defined as “a cause or occasion of grief or regret, as an affliction, a misfortune, or trouble: the expression of grief, sadness, disappointment, or the like”.

The birth of Jabez was an occasion of grief to his mother.  In spite of that, Jabez was distinct.  The word honorable is defined as “in accordance with or characterized by principles of honor; upright: of high rank, dignity, or distinction; noble, illustrious, or distinguished. worthy of honor and high respect; estimable; creditable. bringing honor or credit; consistent with honor”.

As you go forth to advance the kingdom, understand it does not matter where you came for. Your past does not matter.  What matters is that you seek God first, ask him for wisdom and direction, and go forth in strength.

I would have, could have, should have, but I didn’t

I would have, could have, should have, but I didn’t give up.  Psalms 27:13 (AMP) keeps it real where David said “I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord”. I am so glad that I did not let go.  I don’t know if you have been through some things, but I have been through some things. I am glad that I do not look like what have been through.  He has given me beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning.

I can look back over my life now and choose to say it was good that I was afflicted.  It was good that I have gone through the fire and that I am coming out like Gold.  It is good that I have been tested and tried.  It is good that my heart has been examined.  I have an in spite of praise.  I have a “if it had not been for the Lord who was on my side” praise.  I have a “no weapon formed against me” praise.    

David wrote in Psalm 119:71(KJV) that “it is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes”.  According to http://www.merriam-webster.com the meaning of afflict is to “humble” or “overthrow”. Afflict comes from the Latin word Afflictus, which means to cast down or to weaken.  Merriam Webster lists statute as “a written rule or regulation”.  David said it was good that I was humbled so that I could learn the rules of God.  David offered himself to God in a spirit of deference and submission so that he could learn the rules of God.  It was good that he submitted to God.

I can honestly say that, because of my light affliction that I have been able to see the salvation of the Lord.  2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (KJV) says, “for our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”.  

I am glad that my affliction is producing glory. I am so grateful to God for the no’s.  I am glad that relationship did not work out.  I am grateful for the not right now’s.  I am glad I am not a baby mama.  I am glad that I went through financial difficulties. I am glad I lost to win.

Who’s Waiting on You?: Arise and Come Forth

The time is now.  The time is now to what?  The time is now to ARISE AND COME FORTH.  Right now, someone may feel like they have been stuck in between a rock and a hard place.  It may seem like that there has been nothing, but struggle on every side.  It may seem like no matter what you do you, you are in a hard situation, but it is time to get up and make a move.  

In 2 Kings 7:3-5 there were four leprous men who were in a hard situation.  They were sitting at the entrance to the gate, “and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?  If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also.  Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.  And they rose up in the twilight… when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there”.

The four lepers were stuck between a rock and a hard place.  They were defiled and unclean according to Leviticus 13: 46 where a leper is considered “defiled; he is unclean”.  The four lepers had to deal with the social effects being defiled and unclean such as having to be alone and not dwelling with the rest of the camp.  Not only were they living with leprosy they also were in between a rock and a hard place.

The lepers were living in Israel which at the time was under attack.  Due to the war conditions the food supply in the camp dried up.   It had gotten so desperate that people resorted to eating their children.  So their only option seemed to be starve to death or be killed by the enemy.  Death was surrounding them on all sides and they had come to a place where they had to make a decision.  

The lepers made a decision to rise up and face a difficult and uncertain situation.  At that point they could not stay where they were at, because death was at hand.  If they stayed where they were at then death would be certain.  So they made a decision to arise.    

Now is your time to arise and come forth.  Now is your time for deliverance.  When the lepers made the decision to go forth God delivered them.  The lepers were delivered and then went back and helped the rest of the camp to be delivered.  There are people waiting for you to arise and be delivered so that they can be delivered.  No matter what situation you have found yourself in there is a way out.

I Have Great News

I have great news for you.  The answer is yes.  The answer is unequivocally YES!  Yes.  

You may be wondering one small thing though, such as what is the question?  What is the great news that am I talking about? Well let me explain.

The great news is that there is a solution to your problem.  You know the one where it seems impossible.  The one where it seems like it is all falling apart.

Yep.  Yes that place.  That point of no return.

The awesome thing is that answer that you have been searching for is right in front of you.  That’s right.  It is right in front of you in the Bible.

The cool thing about the Bible is that God gave the Bible as an instruction manual.  The Bible is one tool that God uses to speak. The Bible is the living and active word of God.  

Inside the instruction manual many topics are mentioned.  Things such as hopelessness, frustration, lying, and so forth are all addressed in the Bible.  The Bible can be applied to any area of your life.

No matter what you are going through the Bible can answer whatever question that you have.  Jesus has the truth that you are searching for.  Jesus is the way and the truth.  In John 14:6 (NKJV) while speaking to Thomas, ‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life’.

Jesus is the truth that can help you.  Through Jesus your situation can change.  You don’t have to remain in the same situation.  You don’t have to stay the same.

God cannot lie.  Numbers 23:19 (KJV) states that, “God is not a man, that he should lie”.  God is reliable.  The great news is that you can count on God
