A Site Dedicated to Small Press and Self-Published Comics Reviews and News.

So yeah, I like to think of this as a big deal for the small press comics community. I’m excited to be working with Alex, Rob, and Ryan as we kick off FIELDMOUSE PRESS. Creating a non-profit to support the comics arts has been a labor of love, for sure.

What does this mean for YCE? In the short term, not much. For the rest of 2019, we’ll be running great small press comics criticism written by spectacular critics, amazing interviews with cartoonists, and plugs for comics projects that we think you’d be interested in helping out.

And, of course, sandwiches.

Of course, we’ll be at SPX this year -- we’re even doing a live edition of ENEMIES OF THE STATE -- looking at the Ignatz nominated GIRL TOWN and talking to its creator, Carolyn Nowak. Hope to see you there!

Likewise, there are big plans around this year’s version of BOOKS WE LIKED that should come out in early December.

In the long term, as I’ll be taking over editorial duties at SOLRAD when Fieldmouse Press launches it in January, I’ll be ceasing all YCE operations then. I plan on keeping the site up and running for as long as it makes sense -- there’s too much amazing writing there to lose.

But until then, remember that if you love small press comics and the community that surrounds it, YOUR CHICKEN ENEMY will always be your friend. And thanks for all of your support both in the past and for the exciting things on the horizon.
