“I know. I know how upset you are.” He reached forward, pulling the other into a tight embrace, face nuzzling into the Dane’s shoulder.
After clearing his throat, he pulled away. His hand moved to play with the Danish man’s hair as frowned up at it. He’d always hated the look of Denmark’s hair, but had always found comfort in playing with his wild locks— not to mention it seemed to calm the other a bit when he did.
His gaze travelled back down to the Dane’s eyes, and took a deep breath before continuing. “You did a lot of terrible things back then. Enough to drive me away really. And though I may not forgive you for some of them, I don’t plan on doing it again. I’m a different person now, as you are. We’ve grown and matured, and things are different between us. I love you, Denmark. And I don’t think I’ll ever stop.”
There was a bright red tiny on his cheeks as he said the last few words. Talking to Denmark about these feelings was still a bit difficult for him, but he’d managed to say them just fine.
Denmark leaned into the embrace, sighing deeply at the personal contact. He frowned as the other pulled away, but knew there was no point in arguing. He didn't want to risk angering Norway and driving him off. He closed his eyes as Norway's fingers danced through his hair. He loved when people played with his hair. The cool touch of their hands grazing through his messy blonde hair always eased him. "I know... I wish I could just change the past. Or forget about it. But having these memories flashing before my eyes, all my worse moments repeating in my head.. it's unbearable.." He moaned and tugged at his own hair. Was there an off-button to his memories? He needed one. Badly. He let his hands drop back to his sides as he continued. "I love you too, Norway... more than anything... please, don't ever stop. Let's stay this way forever. I don't think my heart could take it if we stopped..." He smiled sadly and kissed Norway, pressing his lips delicately against the smaller man's lips.
