I have been wondering why Louis asked Lestat to bleed into his beer rather than just using his own blood, but I finally figured it out.

It's a writing choice so that Louis has a recent dose of 'I have the blood of Akasha in me', which will help him survive the beheading longer. I feel silly that it took me so long!

Whatever your feelings are on the show, I hope we can at least agree that Delainey Hayles is knocking it out of the park with her performance this season. In one season, she's had to play:

And all four of them have been distinctly different. Regina-pretending-as-Claudia is different than s2 Claudia. Lestat's haunting during Stained Glass Eyes is not the same as Claudia's actual spirit.

It's a genuinely incredible performance and she deserves her flowers for it.

Ever since the new episode dropped all I've been seeing between the DM and Loustat sides fandom, are them fighting about who's better. And how one side has a better moral compass than the other. Or one side showed they literally have no moral compass at all. And I'm just like??????

Exaaactly.

I LOVE both loustat and dm and I am genuinely baffled by this conversation. Like, if you're looking for good, morally upstanding characters to root for, this is not the show for you. They are all complex, deeply fucked up people, with infinite capacity for cruelty. And they are cruel to each other and others, every single one of them. No one has a moral compass. You can't enjoy the show if you don't substantially suspend your sense of everyday human morality. Just try to put yourself in the shoes of each character and relish the fuckedupness.

It didn't come across as genuine to me. It felt like Louis was being condescending. I guess it could go either way (which is the fun of this show!) but it felt to me like "aw, isn't that precious, Lestat? The little fledgling whose own maker ran from him thinks someone actually likes him!" Which fits with the "methodically cruel" aspect of his character.
