Love this writeup! I really hope they release the official video of the concert, either all at once or song by song. I want the HD recordings.

Thank you so much!! I think they will, there were notices everywhere that said filming would be happening, and the dress code seemed designed to prevent any issues with releasing the footage (i.e. we weren't allowed to wear logos).

And I agree, I think I could spot him fiddling with an earpiece at a couple of points. Either way, a phenomenal show!

Sam REALLY can sing. It's crazy to me how beautiful and powerful his voice is.

I think the Biggest Fan brief issue was the earpiece, the way he kept fiddling with it. Seemed like he couldn't hear something perfectly. But I might be wrong. The song sounded great otherwise, and then other songs, my god, Brutal Love, I keep listening to it. The Loneliness, adfkadfasd;kfad;

I think you're right, he was definitely fiddling with something in his ear. Someone elsewhere mentioned it might have been the click track. But it absolutely sounded gorgeous anyway, and all of the songs were so, sooooo good!

Some scattered thoughts from the concert tonight:

-God, Sam Reid really can sing. I swear I am being objective, but as a frequent concert-goer: the man can sing, and he can sing live. His voice was gorgeous throughout.

-Despite the rumors, no one besides Sam Reid went on stage in character. The backing band was not the same band as the show, and it even included Daniel Hart on guitar!

-Presumably this also means that this is not actually going to be footage for Episode 7, despite that also being a rumor.

-Sam Reid did mess up sliiiiightly, I think, and briefly faltered on the lyrics to Your Biggest Fan a couple times. (You can hear it a little at the end of the video I posted earlier.). But it didn't make it any less impactful, and honestly I think I only caught it because of how obsessively I've listened to the song.

-I have to say: the crowd truly was so, so cool. I had wondered if it might get crazy or loud or if people would shriek over the show or the songs, but no one did. Everyone was excited and responsive, but everyone was on their best behavior, presumably because this was such a unique, special event.

-1iota almost definitely oversold seats. The lines for general admission and priority seemed like they stretched the entirety of Riverside Park, and I was hearing rumors that no one in general admission would actually get in at all (though at least some did)

-I hope Eric Bogosian feels good about how absolutely bonkers people went when he walked into the theater before the show. Everyone got a big welcome, but he was the first to take his seat and damn, the people gave him a big welcome.
