Hey so just a heads-up, since a few Vampire Lestat posts of mine have been doing the rounds:

I know a lot of folks are really excited for the next couple of episodes (and so am I!) but I would very, very much appreciate if people did not post spoilers for upcoming episodes in the comments or reblogs. (This also includes even 'vague hints' at spoilers).

For the most part people are being very cool and chill in their interactions, and I'm having a blast chatting with people, but I wanted to put this out there as we're getting closer and closer to the finale. I appreciate you guys a ton!

I do not understand how people are still clinging onto the idea that Daniel Molloy is getting bodyswapped into Alex. Nothing like this happened at all in the finale and yet. People are saying it will happen offscreen during the season break. Why. What evidence is there for this. How has this spiraled so far.

Listen if this finale gave us nothing else, it gave us a mention of gender fluid lestat. And that's just beautiful.

It is hysterical that a lot of us spent the last two weeks asking “Did Louis really know about Armand following Daniel? Did he know it was happening but didn’t think it was as intense as it was? Did Armand obfuscate what was going on? Is Armand just straight up lying?”

And then the actual answer is “Yeah Louis knew exactly what was going on and he let it happen to make up for absolutely decimating the San Francisco gay population of 1973”

Magnus: and then you sucked at THIS and were a failure at THAT…

Lestat: this is a kangaroo court!

Lestat: I demand that Gabriella take over as judge

Gabriella: YOU WERE A DEADBEAT BASEMENT DWELLER UNTIL YOU WERE THIRTY

Lestat: actually you know what I’d really prefer to be judged by my dead homophobic brother-in-law

A bunch of cast interview stuff is suddenly getting clarified in light of the finale, like Assad saying he didn't entirely understand what Armand was doing, or Eric Bogosian getting on the horn with Rolin to say Daniel needed to be way more proactive to justify his storyline

Loved Lestat finally, finally going off on Gabriella -- except it's for pushing him to do the concert, I guess, and not for all of the other shit we've seen her do for the past season of television

Which is especially wild after the hallucinations of her and Marius were making jokes about Lestat's dick??? I guess??

Me when it's revealed Fareed helped with the beheadings after all those cute Lestat-Fareed interactions:

Remembering Lestat telling Louis “The next time someone tries to kill me, pick up the phone” and then the next time someone tries to kill him, Louis is on the bus with Lestat waiting for him to wake up

Some thoughts on Devil's Minion in the finale

Ahahaha remember when we all assumed the beheadings were for a real purpose and not out of petty spite hahahahaha

The Good:

I for one am glad that the Saw bathroom comparisons were on the nose

I also would be happy to see Armand be an evil feral little beast all day every day

I am very much looking forward to Devil's Minion as one of my very favorite things: ~EVIL POWER COUPLE~

The Bad:

So....none of this was built up to at all, right?

Like I am not necessarily opposed to where this ended up, but it does feel like a real heavy shift for Daniel to be just straight-up evil, and also Armand's actual motivation is all Loumand when all his scenes this season have been about his relationships with Daniel & Lestat

Man I don't even think the "Everything is Armand's fault" crowd had guessed that he was behind the whole Regina thing

Which BLOWS MY MIND, he got her a WORK VISA, that shit takes TIME

So did none of this have anything to do with the Great Conversion??? This happening the night before the concert was a coincidence?? Or was that. just a side quest on the road to revenge?

Was Armand really just gonna let Lestat's head die in a bowling bag somewhere? Really? Or did he know Lestat had more time before he'd need it back

Also Daniel just...is OK with Louis being murdered I guess. Which feels like a real hard swerve when he went to such lengths to get him out of his relationship with Armand last season.

And I am THRILLED that they're together, but having it happen entirely off-screen is a real buzzkill, I won't lie. I have to hope there'll be flashbacks next season but it does feel like all buildup, no payoff, let's talk about Loumand instead.

Again I am left to wonder why Armand and Louis aren't trying to kill each other with hammers at the future!auction

I won't lie: a lot of stuff in the finale is leaving me confused the more I'm thinking about it, and it's killing me that I'll have to schedule all my confusion for posts that'll launch on Saturday when the episode is actually up
