My Morning Jacket - Z I'll start with what is most likely my favourite album, and a long-time favourite. Psychedelic and country-tinged rock, I first heard it towards the end of high school, but became heavy in rotation a little while after, which has left it meaning a lot to me. It hits the right spot with its emotion and energy, and enough variety to matter. It's hard to not pick the slow-burn-to-explosive closer "Dondante" as a favourite (or its ever-growing live versions), but there's also the build of "Gideon", and the overall fun "Anytime" to pick between. It turned 20 years old last year, though I've only known it for most of that time. I've had this copy for a little over 10. My Morning Jacket are one of the few bands where I have their complete studio discography, plus several live albums. I'd hope to see them live someday.
