The Phandom has a lot of great events throughout the year. It’s one of the things that makes the Phandom fun and keeps content flowing. But, shockingly, there’s one popular fandom event we’ve never had before, and it’s about time we changed that. Introducing the Danny Phantom Big Bang! Or,
Run by mods @skellagirl, @kinglazrus, and @anthropwashere, Invisobang is a collaborative event that takes place over several months, where authors write fanfics, and then artists create art based upon those fanfics. It’s a great way to connect with other content creators in the Phandom!
We will be running two versions of the event: the main Invisobang, with a minimum word count of 15,000 and a longer run time; plus a smaller Mini-bang, with a 5,000-word minimum on a shorter schedule.
Authors begin writing as soon as they sign up. Halfway through the event, they submit story summaries to the event mods, who will post them on the Invisobang Discord server. Then, artist’s claim what fic they want to make art for based on those summaries (first come, first serve style).
From there, artists work with their writers to create a piece of art for the fic. This requires lots of communication between partners, and it’s up to you to make sure you’re not leaving them in the dark.
Throughout the events, there will be multiple check-ins with mods to make sure your progress is on track.
When the event ends, the fics and art will be posted online for everyone to ooh and aah at the new, amazing content that’s been produced!
Invisobang sign-ups begin March 18th, closing for writers on April 1st, and closing for artists and betas on June 1st. The event runs from March to August 20th.
Mini-bang sign-ups start May 18th, closing for writers on June 1st, and closing for artists and betas July 13th. Mini-bang also ends on August 20th.
Anything else do I need to know?
The event is hosted through the Invisobang Discord. Because of this, participants must have a Discord account and be willing to join.
Co-authors can sign up in teams
Artists can make visual art or music
All content must be made new for the event, no rewriting old material or continuing posted wips, but sequels and prequels to existing works are allowed
