Danny Rooney grew up under the protective wing of his mother, who worked tirelessly to shield him from the harsh realities of Godscobh. Raised in a bubble of warmth and borderline overbearing affection, Danny developed a curious and adventurous spirit. As a child, he all but tore apart the apartment they lived in as he bounced around with boundless enthusiasm, eager to explore and engage in imaginative play where he was the brave hero, saving the town right at the perfect moment when all hope was lost. His mother's efforts to keep him sheltered left him naive, trusting too easily in the goodness of people, a quality that some found endearing, but others were quick to exploit.
By his teenage years, Danny's desire for adventure had grown into an anthem of rebellion. Eager to prove he wasn't just an overprotected momma's boy, he began sneaking out after curfew, wandering around the town's more dangerous corners. He believed he could handle the rougher side of town, convinced that he could bring about positive change. But, though his intentions were always noble, his efforts often backfired, landing him in trouble with people and situations that he didn't fully understand.
Now 23, Danny is slowly coming to the realisation that his idealistic view of the world doesn't quite align with the grim reality that surrounds him. He still wants to be a source of 'good' and 'heroism' in the world, but, he's learning that survival requires a lot more than just good intentions. Still hanging onto hope, Danny continues to struggle to find the balance between being a perfect son, and also finding a life for himself outside of their little world.
