Hey, I don't know who needs to be told this but for the people that don't read rp rules pages...

1st off READ THEM. They exist for a reason. They exist because people are setting boundaries, establishing what to expect on the blog, who they feel comfortable seeing their blog and often times rules pages exist because some random person before you ignored them, pushed something on them or treated that person badly or literally any other reason they don't need to explain unless they want to.

2nd, if you absolutely refuse to do the bare minimum then at least check when you're initially following their preferences on nonmutual interactions and how they feel about personals. If they are private that generally means they do not want nonmutuals touching their things.

Times you can reasonably expect it to be okay to reach out to nonmutuals;

When in the rules page or somewhere on the blog it says it's okay.

That's it.

Respect boundaries. If they say no personals, they don't interact with personals even when that is a hub for a sideblog respect that. Does it suck? Sure, but you're not going to make friends by ignoring a boundary most people are usually quick to put out there.

And most people don't make it confusing, it's either "yes they will write with nonmutuals" or "no they want mutuals only".

If you are patient you will probably find people that are okay with nonmutual interactions or that would follow the blogs connected to your blog hub but reaching out when it's obvious the person makes it clear they aren't comfortable with it is not okay.

Most mature rpers will make it very clear where they stand on the fence. We are all playing dolls and for those that are more selective with who they play dolls with they have a reason and if they don't explain it... well they simply do not have to. You can push that boundary but don't act shocked when you get blocked for being rude. Actions have consequences and for those that cannot respect that you aren't going to find friends.
