The West Thumb Geyser Basin trail.
We got to catch the hourly ish eruption of Old Faithful! The Buffalo wanted to join in on the fun :p
The Geyser Basin trail. Would go back and hike some more challenging trails in better weather conditions.
The Fountain Paint Pot trail. Definitely worth a stop!!
Yellowstone National Park cannot simply be captured in a series of ten pictures, so here is the beginning of our journey through the park. We entered at the western side of the park and cruised south. A truly amazing park!
We got to stay a few days in Idaho Falls with a family friend! She gave us a tour and we drove over the Teton Mountains to Jackson Hole. We went on the Mountain Coaster at Snowking Mountain!! So much fun! After lots of planning for our next adventure, we headed north to Yellowstone!
Driving through Nevada/Northern Utah. The incredibly desolate Salt Desert. We didn’t see another soul for a few hours...
The Salt Flats of Utah. We were plenty satisfied just stopping at a nearby rest area. What an awe inspiring drive. First actual mirage that I have ever seen!
Alta and Snowbird Mountain and Ski Resorts It was a beautiful drive throughout this canyon. We were getting to experience the changes of fall even out here.
Driving through northern Utah. Experienced car problems along the way and stayed in a hotel just outside of Salt Lake City. Car worked fine in the morning, off we went!
Visiting with friends in Boulder, CO Hiked to Lost Lake and got to see the snow covered Rocky’s peeking through the trees.
Hiked the loop around Devil’s Tower, WY Managed to catch a beautiful sunset at the end.
Our drive throughout The Black Hills, SD along The Needles Highway.
Led astray to Hot Springs SD in search of actual Hot Springs. Instead we found the national mammoth museum and got some postcards.
Some of the wildlife that we captured on our adventure through South Dakota.
Managed to make it to the black hills just in time for Mt. Rushmore’s last lighting ceremony of the season. Had a hard time finding a campsite. Busy Friday night in the hills. Driving the Needle Highway at night was pretty awesome. Finally found an open campground bordering Custer State Park.
Exploring The Badlands South Dakota First real drastic change in geography that we experienced. Still a long day ahead of us at this point...
