It's time to drop the curtain~

Thank you very much to everyone who supported and participated in #DanLadyWeek2025. I'm so happy that the 20th anniversary of our beautiful ship resonated with so many people!

Shout-out to the absolute MVPs of the event: @stingingcake and @i3lacki2eaper for blessing us with a daily dose of amazing content!

It was such a pleasure to see new awesome contributions from the veterans of DanLady events - @super-jump and @icequeenoriginal

The event turned out to be more fanfiction heavy (btw, the Dante/Lady ao3 tag gained almost 20 new stories thanks to everyone's hard work), and it was nice to see different prompts' interpretations by @victoria14748 and @cassian7400

But ofc the week didn't lack the beautiful artworks thanks to @scenearcee and @sharksmirk

Awww, your words make me so happy, dear anon! I think people know me mostly thanks to my edits, but I do write fanfics too! Even though my humble English skills make me struggle a lot. So I'm really glad you appreciate this part of my work too ❤️

DanLady cuddling/hugging headcanons:

• Dante is certainly into it. If it were up to him, he'd never let Lady go. Too bad, his girl loves her personal space and scolds him when he's too affectionate in public.

• Despite her stern mask, Lady melts every time she feels his strong arms around her. Dante's body temperature is higher than the human norm, so in cold weather, she uses this as an excuse to cuddle up to him. But she can't tell him the truth: show him a finger, and he'll bite the arm off.

• It's not common for Lady to initiate their hugs. But when Dante wakes at night, gasping for air from another nightmare, her hands always find his face in the darkness, and then she gently cradles his head, letting him rest on her chest, stroking his hair. With the soft rustle of her voice, he can breathe again.

• Dante fears his demonic nature, the whisper in his ear that he's too gentle: he needs to crush her in his arms, hear the crunch of her bones and the song of her cries. Lady only snorts at it, reminding him that she can stand up for herself.

• To finally dispel his fears, Lady hugged him while he was in the Devil Trigger form. But maybe she shouldn't have thrown herself on his neck while they were flying in the air. Dante was so shocked he almost crashed into a skyscraper.

• After every successful hunt, Lady barely catches her breath before her silly boyfriend scoops her up and does the princess twirl. She can't help but laugh every time.

It's not insignificant that Lady supports his flirtation: " dating a demon? I'm not that desperate". She is openly jealous of Trish until she discovers the true nature of their relationship, to Eris in the DMC LH. There are more subtle details in the anime2007. Itsuno was incontrol of it all. He personally oversaw DMC Peak of Combat.

Year of the Dadte continues. I finally finished the intro comic to my fanfic "Test Tube Baby"

I wanted to get another page done, but then I was struggling with it, and it's not like this comic was ever going to be independent of the fanfic anyways. Happy Father's Day!

Summary: Dante and Lady are on a hunt in an amusement park, but their day of carnival games and demon hunting is interrupted by Lady's past. (Note: Can be read on its own, but works best if read after Chapter 4 of a "A Good Turn.")

Excerpt:

What really caught Dante's attention was that at least half of the children in the family must've be adopted, since they bore little to no resemblance to the couple, but all the kids treated them like parents. As an orphan himself, Dante thought that was pretty damn cool, especially since they all seemed happy. ... This was the sort of happy family that made him miss his own lost family. The sort of family that, as a homeless street kid, he would've given anything to be adopted by.

So why was Lady radiating pure murder? While smiling? Dante did NOT like that smile.

She walked up to the middle-aged father as he rose from his seat to grab some more napkins. "Oh my god, Mr. Hendricks?! Is that you?" Dante's jaw almost hit the pavement at her bubbly, girlish tone. Lady sounded like a… like a girl! A teenage girl!

It was freaking unnatural, and the dissonance made his head spin.

The man blinked down at her, smiling automatically. "Oh, hello!"

Lady took off her sunglasses and met his eyes. "Do you remember me, Mr. Hendricks?"

Mr. Hendricks's florid, sunburned face drained of color, leaving him looking like a lump of sweaty bread dough. "M-Mary?"

Her sweet smile melted like candy to reveal the hidden razorblades, just before her fist slammed into his nose.

Lady was very afraid for Dante, his injury was the point of no return for her- that's where she made her decision and Vergil only revealed what she had already decided. Dante's weakness and her concern for him are something we have never had the opportunity to see in ⬇️

the canon (with the exception of a small scene in DMC5)- he is almost invincible in the scenes we are shown. This is not enough to develop the character- we need to see his weaknesses and failures in order to appreciate his victories in the subsequent narrative. The same goes ⬇️

➡️ for Lady- from the tough and impenetrable Mary Ann, she becomes Lady, literally taking the nickname Dante gave her as her own name. Anyone who watches anime knows how important this episode is in a relationship. But we've all seen it in the canon... I wouldn't be surprised⬇️

➡️ surprised if we ever found out that Lady was just as anxious as Dante was waiting for her at the bottom of Temen-ni-Gru. After all, she's his Lady, and he's her night without fear or reproach🗡✨️ He's not opposed to this role himself. Well, Dante, it's fate🌌

I had lots of fun writing from Vergil's point of view. A part huge chunk of inspiration for this fic was Vergil saying that he somewhat understood Lady based on what they have been through.
