“You think I would lie to you? You wound me cousin,” Dante replied dramatically. It would be harder to gain the trust of the people who actually knew him, considering Dante was often anything but trustworthy before coming to Auradon. That does sound boring, is what he wanted to say, but held his tongue. “Sounds like it’s still pretty eventful. You seem to have your hands full,” Dante commented. “Exciting? Not quite. As much as you’d like to think they would be, people aren’t all too accommodating to the Isle kids as they said they would be. I’m just trying to find my place here is all.”

“It’s a long story,” he replied as if owning a cauldron were the most typical thing in the world. He’d rather not get into the details of how he acquired it from the Fates. “That’s– cute,” Dante replied with a little crinkle of his nose, as if the word brought a foul taste to his mouth. “What flavor was it? Perhaps we can use it in this recipe since I have no idea what we’re making these for.”

regina slid into the seat across from her brother, crossing her arms and leaning forward.

“what are you doing?”

 it sounded very accusatory, which was the way regina always sounded; but to be fair, he was usually up to something. 

“Reading,” Dante replied simply, not rattled by his sister’s accusatory tone. Perhaps it was more than just some downtime reading, but he was sure Regina would come to that conclusion on her own. “Is it a crime to read these days?”

He had to establish some trust and credibility before he pulled anything. “Well you did come here on your own right. You’re regretting it now, but what brought you here in the first place? You could’ve said no from the get-go.”

Dante let out a heavily amused laugh, but it almost sounded like a deep cackle. “Theodore you really are a charmer,” he replied. He knew many were suspicious of him but he had to do is best to assimilate. If it meant enduring small talk every now and again, then that’s what he would have to do. “Of course it’s a catch up. We haven’t had one in a while. Fill me in on your life, cousin.”
