I often think that in saying “us,” Loki was referring to the Asgardians. “Us” isn’t Thor and Loki … This is a collective “us.” He’s embraced his status as “The Prince of Asgard” … “I assure you, brother… The sun will shine on [our people] again.” He gave up the tesseract so that Thanos wouldn’t mass murder what was left of the Asgardian race. It broke my heart to see a “New Asgard” exist without him in it. But he died assured his people would survive.
