(abandoning my spider-like Fresh headcanons for this)
The pirate coughed as he finally resurfaced, clinging to the floating plank of wood like his life depended on it. Well, it kind of did, after all…
Somehow, he happened to survive the crash, even if he only now managed to find a safe spot. The worst part was that he was who-knows-where in the middle of the ocean.
He’d drown, or starve, or thirst, or be eaten by sharks, or–
He yelped as something grabbed his leg, immediately kicking at it in fear, feeling his boot connect with something before the waves he had created, and those naturally formed, seemed to grow in a certain spot as something grabbed onto the plank as well.
His eyes were wide as a person stared directly at him. A very distinctly… shirtless person. A yellow blush coated his face at the realization, though they leaned closer, making him shove away.
“whO ArE yOU!?” he snapped, not recognizing them. They, he assumed now was a he, tilted his head, blinking in confusion with oddly colored eyes.
One appeared to be white, in the shape of a heart, while the other was a thick circle of yellow and red, both in black sockets. Error’s blush grew, though he didn’t know why, exactly.
The stranger opened his mouth, letting out a confused trill, that made Error just as bewildered.
Only when he felt something touch at his legs again, distinctly smooth, did he look down after kicking away again.
A long, pink-purple tail was swaying through the water underneath them both, leading under the plank. A quick peeked over shown that the stranger lacked legs, the tail connecting to his waist where legs would normally be.
Error glanced up at the now discovered mermaid, eyes wide in shock.
“plEAsE dOn’t bE A sIrEn, plEAsE dOn’t bE A sIrEn, plEAse dOn’t bE A sIrEn…” he whispered to himself repeatedly, though the mermaid leaned closer, appearing curious.
His breathing sped up as the creature finally pulled away, seeming content to watch him… as he either drowned or died of lacking needs.
He sighed deeply, resigned to his fate. At least he’d have a nice view…
