So the biltong guy story!
Found his store on Maps before the trip and since he was located near our lodgings, I decided to give his shop a visit and this was more or less the conversation that went down. There was another person in the store who came in to browse the shelves and was subsequently also dragged into tasting biltong too.
I liked it a lot. It was more tender than the usual beef jerky I've had (Jack Links, local jerky makers, etc) and the Droëwors he let me have as a chaser after the mala flavored sample was pretty good too. Like very good to snack on during hikes or after a workout. The beef stick snaps easily with a twist too. Fascinating stuff.
If eaten on its own with no flavoring? Just beef. Very beef flavor. I didn't taste any strong salt on it. It's the same with the Wagyu variant he has but with the added trademark 'oiliness' of Wagyu.
In the end, I ended up getting a small bag of the PeriPeri flavored biltong and some beef sticks because they were really good. Shared that with friends, then bought another set to bring home.

One of the best part of this trip was getting to eat at an authentic Slavic restaurant and I got to try Borscht and Kvass, amongst other yummy dishes. Yes it was a lil pricey but I saved up for this experience and it was worth it! Especially coupled with hanging out with friends. If I can, I'd love to come back in the future and try the other stuff they got.
Also ice cream. I got lucky that a friend's favorite haunt has an experimental Chocolate Toothpaste flavor, aka super minty. I'm so down for super minty ice cream!

Spaghetti found a new person to bully. Can't help it if they squeak like a toy. Some cats like squeakies!
I have sent him somewhere to wreak a lil' havoc or just take a vacation from the angst of canon and dealing with the AUs.
Spaghetti has temporarily gained a little rabbit for this month and has unsurprisingly named it 'Borscht'....
He's going to be so upset when the month's up and the little thing poofs, isn't he?
Hi, hello. Not entirely back but I must make something for this month. Spaghetti being a lil' bastard to his Master Attendant as usual, and then getting ice cream together as a treat.
Okay so... just a bit of a news on why I've been quiet for a good chunk of time in January. One, still trying to get through some personal shtuff that's a headache to butt heads with. Don't worry about it.
Two, and this one was pretty sudden. Uhm... my PC's storage drive for literally every file I have decided to just one day corrupt itself and die. Before I could do my yearly backup, even. Took the PC to the shop, they did everything they could to recover or resuscitate it but nada. So now I've gone and had the storage drive replaced with a better one (amongst other upgrades the shop offered to futureproof my PC a little longer, real cool). I'm still going through every nook and cranny to find any traces of art that I've squirreled away online and redownloading copies because I do have some attachment to every little thing I've drawn. This is going to take a while and I'm not sure about the estimated time I'll be done considering point numero uno up there.
So tldr; all the arts I've done for the past full year is gone and flung into the void and I have to almost start from zero again. I have some backup, but it's all old things and none of it were the files that mattered.
Does it suck? Absolutely. Is it frustrating? Also, absolutely. But on the bright side, I'm alive to remember that they existed and if nothing else, I possess the spite to keep making more art and fanfiction to make up for the ones I lost. Make new memories, so to speak.

What goes on in their little unspoken conversations I wonder....
I like to think he is a cat. Specifically a domesticated, large breed cat like a Maine Coon. Somewhat dog-like but still very catty.
He works well with a Master Attendant who knows how to handle him and respects him. Sociable, moderately talkative and needs a substantial amount of attention. Also if the family of his Master Attendant is likeable, he extends his loyalty to them as well (unfortunate for the canon Spaghetti). Likes being where the action is at because he's naturally inquisitive, for better or worse. Also quite intelligent and likes learning new things, again, for better or worse. He can coexist with others as well.
Spaghetti cannot be likened to a wild cat as he thrives the most in a domestic, familial dynamic and setting compared to some others. Yes, he can hunt and survive as any 'cat' with intact instincts, but feral and wild are not things used to describe him.
