Really want to create or join a solarpunk guild, but I’m not sure what the guild theme rules are. Anyone else around here interested in something like that?

Wow it turns out I did not in fact go back to this blog, but back on dappervolk! Still super laggy of course, but it’s nice to have this site back. In a few days once the server issues are fixed I’ll probably just be doing that- maybe start or join a guild once that’s a thing

Got a bit sidetracked by school things, but now that’s done and I have a bit more free time for the next couple weeks I’ll be posting some more Pokémon soon! Also I procrastinated on homework by messing around a bit on rpg maker so if I’m able to get myself to stick with that until the end I might post abt my own homemade video game too

Seriously Overestimating Gym Leaders

After getting the Flash HM and training up my team to about level 10 each (give or take) I decided it was about time to test our skills against the Violet City Gym Leader, Falkner.

Basic summary is that Special Agent Dale Cooper burned them all to a crisp and then evolved into a Quilava. I gave Flash to Lady Gertrude, so we went into the Dark Cave and caught a Zubat named Marvin.

I tried to train Marvin on Route 32, but he was promptly murdered by a wild rattatta. May he Rest In Peace. Luckily I’d picked up a Hoppip earlier on the road, plus I had a strange egg given to me by the Pokémon professors, so I’m able to walk around know with a full set of 6 friends. I explored the route up until Unity Cave, but I may backtrack and check out the Ruins of Alph before going on.

Violet City

After exploring the area around Violet City, Special Agent Dale Cooper and I were able to add several members to the team. These are:

-Becky the Spinarack- full name Becky Arachnid- caught on Route 32. She’s a bright and shining star who takes down the fiercest of foes with her venom.

- Gertrude the Hoothoot- full name Lady Gertrude the Just, bringer of Light in the Darkness- caught at the entrance to Route 36. She’s scared of bugs, which is a shame bc Becky Arachnid wants nothing more than to be friends.

We took some time to explore the town, and heard rumors that there were ghosts in Sprout Tower at night. It WAS night, so we decided to check it out before heading to bed. It looked like there was a whole thing the Sages of the tower wanted you to do so we decided to save it for the morning.

On our way out though, the air of the tower suddenly turned cold. The room filled with a violet fog, and laughter echoed from all sides. Anyway, that was Annie the Gastly and now she’s part of the team 😎

And here I present my First Boy. His name is Special Agent Dale Cooper, and he’s here to help me uncover the mysterious mysteries of Johto!

He was randomly selected, which is cool bc even though I like Cyndaquil well enough, I’d have probably picked either of the other starters first. But now he’s my son.

He carried me safely back and forth from New Bark Town to Cherrygrive City as we consulted Professor Elm for his scientific expertise in the mystery that a certain Mr. Pokémon wished us to investigate: The Mystery of the Egg. We obliterated every Hoothoot, every Spinarack, to cross our path.

And when we were challenged to a fight by a mysterious stranger with a stolen Totodile? Special Agent Dale Cooper hid himself so deeply in smoke that the other critter could barely land a single hit. His power? Unparalleled.

Modified Nuzlocke Rules that I’ll be using

-only catch the first Pokémon of each area (exception for shinies, legendaries, and wooper. However, these cannot be used unless they are the first Pokémon encountered in the area.)

- if a Pokémon faints, it is healed and then released. Because it dying makes me feel too sad to have fun. Shinies and starter Pokémon, if they faint, are healed and placed in a special Pokémon box.

- all Pokémon get nicknames

- only pokemon from the lowest evolution level may be caught. If the first Pokémon in an area is an evolved form, then I may catch the next Pokémon available which has not been evolved. Shiny exception applies, but cannot go on my team.

- no fleeing

Once when I was at work I was on the cash register and a customer came up and addressed me by name, even though I didn’t know her and my workplace doesn’t use name tags. “Hey Robin,” she said. “You don’t know me, but I’m best friends with your nemesis.”

I didn’t know what to say so I just told her her total and finished ringing her up. I did not know I had a nemesis but apparently I do. That was a few months ago and I haven’t seen my nemesis’s best friend since, so I’m not sure why I’m thinking about that interaction now but in retrospect it was pretty weird.

Challenge where you apply Marie Kondo’s method to Pokémon games. Only catch/keep Pokémon that spark joy. Could be just one Pokémon, could be all of them. The challenge is that it is so tempting to “catch ‘em all”- even the ones that you simply do not vibe with as much- just for the sake of yr pokedex, to achieve a good balance, or bc they’re rare or strong and you feel obligated to. But even if your final team isn’t very strong, at least you have built a team entirely of Pokémon that make you happy!
