he stopped being a dumbass and stared at his son. he was quite surprised he went this far just for him. he was expecting a small gift or just a plain ‘happy father’s day’ but not this. the album had a lot of meaning and a lot of effort was placed into it. “ichigo…” despite his son’s behavior towards him he always knew he loved him deep down and also isshin loves him. he gave up so many things for him and everyone else.

isshin takes the album off his hands, he is going to treasure this even if it wasn’t the best gift ever but what his son went through to make it was more than enough to consider it a big treasure. “wouldn’t hurt dropping the tough act with your old man. no one will judge you.” he chuckles and approaches his son, strong arms found themselves around ichigo as he gave him a big hug. “thank you… i will never regret the sacrifices i made for you and your mother… you kids are the best that ever happened to me.”

He leaned in when his dad finally moved in and pulled him into a hug. And after a few seconds, his own arms shifted to reciprocate that private embrace. “I think you’ve seen my crying enough times as it were.” He pointed out, tightening the hug just a little, ensuring that his dad wouldn’t be able to pull back and see that Ichigo was misting just a little. And that last sentence really hit him.

He was proud of his father. Of his Mother. Of all the things they had both done, for him, for Karin and Yuzu. And for eachother. “And to be fair, my initial idea was to get you a pass to soul society, but well. I found out that Captain Flowers already beat me to it.” He added, growling a little to hide the slight crack in his voice. Blink blink. Alright, the ol feels dew was in check and he could loosen his grip again.

he finally faces his son and he was already on tears when he saw the album on his hand. his son was such a cute boy when he acts so nice but still keeping his punk act. he is trying so hard to be a bad boy.

“you remembered! i love you my son! thank you!”

“Why wouldn’t I remember?” He murmured, watching his father gush over such a simple thing. “Of course I love you or whatever. Now stop blubbering like that. It actually took me a bit of thinkin to figure it out what to get you. But well, I remembered that story you told me. About Mom. About how you guys met.” he murmured softly.

“You gave up a lot just to stick with her.  Apparently Division twelve is really into modifying a buncha stuff from the living world to work in soul society. So I got a camera from them. I’m not really a photographer, but there’s a photo of all the active Captains and Lieutenants in there, and some wide shots of how the Soul Society looks these days. And well....” He opened it up. At the very last page, was a picture he convinced Ganju and Kuukaku to take.

“I know if I had to give up coming back. I would have wanted to know you guys were okay.”
