Happy Monday everyone! Today I thought I would share some of my stamping plates, and how I organize them.
There have been a lot of great suggestions out there about making a container or some type of storage for organizing your Stamping Plates.However, none of the suggestions I found worked for me.
I wanted to keep many (over 100) small plates in one easy to get to location. I also wanted to keep the number of binders down! For me it's easier to go to one place when I am looking rather than several.
So I measured the plates and off to the store I went. I found these trading card pages at Walmart for around 3.50 or so. (for 90 slots). They don't have measurements on the packaging, but they are 2.5 inches wide. The standard small round stamping plates are a little over 2 inches wide so I knew these would work!
The binder is just a basic one, I think it was a buck or two. This entire project costs less than 10 dollars.
I write the plate number and brand on the back of the plate with permanent marker and seal it with a coat of clear polish. I do this so when I am flipping through the book I don't have to squint to see the plate number I am looking for. You don't have to do this, or if you choose to you and don't like it, you can remove the polish and the marker with acetone.
My biggest tip is to always flip the pages from the TOP RIGHT corner. The plates are heavy and if you start flipping from the bottom they could fly out. Also, store flat or on a shelf like a book, but make sure you don't flip or store upside down or the plates will come out.
