They’d been walking in silence for what seemed like forever, and James had been well and truly trapped inside his own head when he heard Sirius’ voice fill the air around them. His head snapped towards his friends and his brows raised, awaiting the next words that would come from his lips. And though he should have been expecting that question, and it was something that he had been wondering himself, when Sirius said it aloud, it seemed like there was nothing that they could say. Perhaps it would have been different if they had only asked Remus to come with them. Perhaps things would have gone much better. All James could picture in his mind was the image of one of his previous best friend’s falling to the ground after trying to turn his wand onto him. He couldn’t shake it. And, when it was paired with the imagine of his wife lying cold and bloody on that hospital bed, it seemed almost right and just. But, when that image had faded away, and that had been quite some time ago, all James could feel was an overwhelming sense of guilt, grief, and pain. This had not helped in the way he thought it would. But, did he really think it would end like this? After a few moments had passed, James finally spoke. “He needs to know.” James wasn’t even sure that Remus knew the extent of what had happened and that Peter had been responsible for Lily’s death. So, telling him would prove even more difficult. “Everything.“ He took in a breath. "Wormtail – Peter is gone.” Dead was still too harsh a word for James to say out loud, even considering everything he had done. He shook his head and grit his teeth. “But, I don’t know how…” He admitted, trailing off.
Sirius nodded, "Well, that much we agree on. I'm just not sure how he will take it -- either of the things we have to tell him that is. Y'know, he's a lot more..." He paused trying to think of the right word, "Fragile then us. I worry about him." The male confessed. He worried about James just as must, especially with the recent events but James had always been made of tougher stuff than Remus. "Do you want me to do it?"
