OPEN TO ; male or female → MUSE ; maverick noory, thirty-three, night / strip club owner → PLOT ; your muse is at his club, when they bump into him, spilling a drink all over him. ( stupid , i know , but go with it )
“ do you make a habit of not watching where you’re going , or am i just lucky ? “ he spoke sternly, his hands brushing the excess alcohol off his dark brown suit.
Alex had been drinking for a while now, and by this point he was sloshed. He shouldn't have even been in the club in the first place but that was the one thing his father was good for, power and money. Turning to the other man, who he had just spilt his drink on, Alex just laughed.
"Lucky. Or both. Doesn't matter to me as long as I can get another drink."

“Maybe I’m just weird then. But I don’t like not knowing.” He explained, wondering if it even made sense. A challenge was always something that enticed him, and she certainly was a challenge. “Yes, I was. I don’t bluff.” Bastion was also just dramatic as all hell. “My birthday is August 12th.”
“So, I’m infuriating because you want to get to know me? Got it.”
She chuckled and shook her head. Really for someone so open, he was a bit confusing. Lila thought that being an open book was supposed to make it easier to understand someone. Clearly she was wrong.
“Also rude. I worked hard for this phone, it’s finally not one from a sketchy corner store.”
fuckmeupindie:
Bastion quickly laughed, shaking his head. That was her first question? Alright. “Well, I don’t give a shit about most people. But I can read people usually. And you’re a puzzle and it’s infuriating. and interesting.”
Lila nodded, a little bit surprised by his answer. It was definitely not what she expected.
“Infuriating I’ve heard before, but interesting is a new one. Umm... Were you really going to break my phone or were you bluffing?”
she paused for a moment before adding, “And your birthday?”
fuckmeupindie:
“Apologies, Lila. I will refrain from bringing them up.” He nodded subtly, an encouraging smile taking over his features. He didn’t want to bring the mood to a crashing halt. This was supposed to help him get to know his new…acquaintance? Friend? Whatever she was. Laughing softly, Bastion shrugged. “Fire away, dearest, I’m as open as can be.”
“Thank you.” She breathed, genuinely happy that he said that.
Lila thought for a moment, not actually having a question in mind to ask Bastion. It was true that he was quite honest with her this far.
“Hmmm... Let’s see... What was with the third degree earlier? Like I get I’m a bit private, but that was a lot.”
fuckmeupindie:
Bastion didn’t really like the way Lila froze up. He had been joking but the way she responded kind of worried him. “I don’t know if I like that pause, dear,” He tried to play it off, though it was concerning. “The thing about murderers is that they usually don’t look like murderers, my dear.” He pointed out, not liking how this conversation was going anymore.
“Sorry if that was weird. I just... Don’t like talking about my family.”
She knew her reaction was off putting, and Bastion’s response made it clear he knew it too. She was mentally screaming at herself. This is exactly why she didn’t share shit with people.
“Anyways, I feel like it’s my turn to ask questions. Only seems fair.”
She hoped the topic change would be welcomed. Lila didn’t want to continue this conversation and it didn’t seem like he did either.
fuckmeupindie:
The smile, albeit small, was a good sign to Bastion. It pushed him to believe that this was going well, even if it probably wasn’t. He did grab her phone and hold it above her after all. But now they were being civil. When she rushed her words out, he raised an eyebrow. “Complicated. You didn’t kill them, did ya?” He joked, a playful smirk finding its way onto his face once again. “Should I be worried?” Bastion winked.
She knew he was just joking but hearing the words out loud shocked Lila to the core. It was like she couldn’t control her own body, she just froze. Standing there staring at him like an idiot, it took a few seconds for her to snap out of it.
“God, no.” She scoffed trying to sound nonchalant. “Do I look like a murderer to you? I couldn’t even get my phone back.”
Tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, Lila hoped she didn’t seem too weird. She always was a terrible liar, which is why she preferred to dance around the truth and give half-truth instead.
fuckmeupindie:
“There we go, see, this is a start.” He smiled slightly. Maybe he could break her after all. “June first. A Gemini. I think me asking why you move around a lot would be pushing it, so I’ll let that one slide for now. Do you have any siblings? Or any family at all, really?” He prodded, actually enjoying being able to properly ask about her. Mystery was only interesting for so long.
She gave him a small smile, appreciating him not pushing his luck. After all she never really did get to talk about herself. Always keeping people at arms length gets lonely and being able to share was kinda nice.
“I-I don’t.” She spoke a little too quickly. “I mean they’re.... It’s complicated.”
Fuck. Lila cursed at herself internally. Almost spilling about her family, the one currently looking for her as a part of an arson and possible murder case, was not something she intended to do with a man who was just threatening her.
fuckmeupindie:
Her phone was boring. Nothing incriminating and nothing he found fun or interesting. Sighing, he thrusted the phone back in her direction, rolling his eyes. “No. You’re being boring as fuck, Lila Johnson. What sort of odd jobs? When is your birthday? I don’t need the full date if you wanna be lame and secretive, but at least the month.” Bastion crossed his arms over his chest. Why was he even bothering? He never liked to get to know others but now that he was actually putting in effort, he was being met with resistance.
Lila sighed a breath of relief as he returned her phone to her. She slid it into her pocket, and ran a hand through her hair. He seemed to be throughly unimpressed with her so far. Relaxing a little bit, Lila humored his questions with actual answers.
“It’s June first. Anywhere that will let me pick up a few shifts, nothing permanent. I move around a lot.”
fuckmeupindie:
“Mm, perhaps I do. But it gets results, so I’ll stick with my methods for now.” He shrugged. Bastion was an off-putting person for the most part, but he got what he wanted. “Why mind my business when I can learn about others and use that information for my own benefit?” He asked, only half joking.
As he was given permission, Bastion quickly began to scroll through her phone. “Alright, then let’s start with basics. You’re Lila. May I have the pleasure of knowing your last name? Or what you do for a living? Anything? You never tell me anything.”
She barely suppressed a growl as he began scrolling through her phone. So far his questions were ones that she prepared for, not needing time to think she shot back her answers.
“Johnson. And as of right now I do odd jobs, whatever I can find. Happy?”
She hoped this, plus the lack of anything incriminating on her phone, would shake his resolve a bit and cause him to back off. If he was going to continue to ask questions she would have to get creative.
fuckmeupindie:
Shaking his head, he continued to look smug. “I could. But every time I try to learn things about you, you tell me to fuck off. You’ve been super suspicious lately, though. Like you’re trying to hide something.” He explained. “So here’s how we’re gonna do this: you’re going to tell me what you’re hiding, along with at least three truthful things about yourself. Or I’m going to go through your phone and then break it. Sound good to you?”
Lila stood back on her feet and glared at Bastion.
“Maybe it’s because you act like a psycho. And acting suspicious? It’s called minding my own business. You should try it sometime.”
She crossed her arms and sighed, knowing she couldn’t tell him the truth. Well, at least not the whole truth. And she definitely couldn’t afford a new phone, she basically went to hell and back to get that one.
“Fine, whatever. Go through my phone. I’m not hiding anything. What the fuck else do you wanna know?”
fuckmeupindie:
“You’re going to have to try a little harder than that,” Bastian laughed, holding his arm up above his head. He had their phone in his hand, holding it just out of their reach. “You’re hiding something and I’m gonna find out what it is. And you’re too small to stop me,” He smirked.
“Hey! What the fuck dude?”
Lila stood on her toes trying to reach the phone being held over her head. She didn’t have much to hide, well except that she is a runaway arson suspect lying about her identity. It wasn’t like that information was on her phone anyways.
“You know, you could just ask, ‘hey, Lila, tell me more about yourself?’ This is fucked up.”
daslanv:
“Aren’t you afraid that one day you might push away something valuable, or good? Cautious people avoid problematic situations. Trust issues can fool you, create an illusion of safety.” David arched a brow and smiled a little as he paused. “You either know that or are the luckiest man on Earth and repel bad luck.”
“What I know is that the only person I can trust is myself.” James shook his head. “Pushing away everything is safer. There isn’t anything valuable or good coming my way.” He didn’t like being so transparent, but he could tell that he wouldn’t be able to dance around the topic.

“You have trust issues, you know? You do. There is a huge difference between being cautious and having trust issues. Ya prosto govoryu…
“Perhaps that’s why I’m still around, and able to do what I do. It’s hard to trust when you’ve doomed so many who have.”

James stood at a good distance from the other man. He could tell that, while Keaton held his ground, he was still shaken by the sight of him. Although, it appeared that there was no threat, James wasn’t willing to take any chances. “It doesn’t matter.” His voice was calm but there was an edge in it, a secret hidden threat. “You should leave.”
