he laughed , “ i dont listen to orders from little girls , ” he waved his hand , “ go get him your fuckin self . ” he looked her up and down before taking a drag of the cigarette between his fingers . santos had never thought of the girl in front of him as anything more than his friend’s younger sister but now — something seemed different .

‘ listen.. ‘ she stepped over to him, leaning down so she was slightly faced to face with him. ‘ if calling me a little girl keeps me out of your dirty wet dreams, then by all means continue, but watch your fuckin- ‘ she was cut off by her brother who stepped out of the kitchen. ‘ yesenia! ‘ her eyes cut daggers in santiago’s eyes as she stepped back. ‘ whatever, i’ll be in the car. ‘ she huffed as she stomped off, slamming the front door behind her. god, she hated him.. but yet, deep in the pit of her stomach there was a familar excitement that built up anytime the two of them went at it.

darling .  how  could  two  measly  syllables  affect  her  so  much ?  had  to  dig  her  teeth  into  her  bottom  lip  to  keep  from  smiling  too  widely ,  from  blushing  too  obviously .  “  i’d  like  to  leave ,  ”   she  muttered ,   “  i  didn’t  say  i  wanted  to  go  home .  ”  words  were  lost  amongst  the  crowd  as  he  made  his  way  to  alert  their  driver ,  leaving  alara  to  seem  as  innocent  and  invisible  as  possible .  head  kept  down ,  hair  framing  her  face ,  body  tucked  into  his  side ;  she  did  know  the  drill .  didn’t  breath  out  until  they  were  safely  in  the  car .   “  let’s  go  to  a  bar .  ”

this part of the night always gave benjamin the most anxiety. getting her back safely to a car after being at an event like this was always a hassle, especially when they were sneaking away. nodding his head at his fellow security, he guided alara out of the event and to the waiting car. once alara was safely inside the car, he ran to the other side and hopped into the opposite side. hearing her comment made him almost scowl in disapproval, shaking his head at the woman. ‘ a bar?? no i think not. if you wanna drink, we’ll go back home and do it. i can’t risk taking you to a bar on a saturday evening.. ‘ he fixed his blazer as he looked at the driver, motioning for him to head to the house. ‘ plus, you have all your jewels on, and someone would easily spot you. you’re wearing your ‘ i’m a princess ‘ starter pack. ‘ he rolled his eyes, motioning to the jewels around her neck, and then to her dress and heels. ' if i'm going to the bar, it's to get away from the crazy stalkers, not attract them. '

the beams of sun poked through his curtains, making him cringe as he tried to sit up to close them, to only feel the weight of something, someone, laying on his chest. looking down, he saw a sleeping azaela, making a small smile appear on his face. turning on his side, he let her leg fall onto his hip as he brushed the hair out of her face, admiring her as she slept. that was, until the woman slowly opened her sleepy eyes to lock with benny’s. letting out a low, awkward chuckle, he squeezed her leg softly as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. ‘ good morning.. ‘ he leaned up on his elbow as he watched the woman fully awake from her sleep. he let his finger run down her collarbone, along her chest, remembering all the curves and all the spots that made the woman beside him go crazy. last night was the first night they met, but it feels as though he’s known her for forever.

hearing him ask about him leaving, made her skin crawl with fear as she practically clung to him. ‘ no! i mean- no.. please stay.. ‘ she whispered as she laid her head on his abdomen, the tears now freely falling down her face as the adrenaline and anxiety wore off, the pain now becoming prominent. ‘ i don’t wanna be alone tonight.. i know you usually go once i fall asleep, but can you stay tonight? ‘ she sobbed, her chest heaving as she hiccuped a few breathes. ‘ please.. ‘ she weakly sat up as she fell into him, her arms wrapping around his neck tightly as she sobbed on his shoulder.

‘ desmond.. i’m gonna ask as nicely as possible.. ‘ erykuh took a deep breath as she looked over at the man. ‘ who the fuck is haley, and why is everyone on campus talking about how you two were ‘ hitting it off ‘ at the party on friday ? ‘ lifting her hands up to motion the quotes as she spoke. ‘ i was studying for the test of my life, and you were off playing boyfriend/girlfriend with some random sorority bitch at a frat party?! ‘ she practically shouted as they sat in his car in front of the uni, her eyes directly looking at him. ‘ please tell me they are lying, because i’m trying my best not to find her and beat the fuck out of her in front of you and all her ‘ sisters ‘ . ‘ there the air quotes were again as she rubbed the bridge of her nose, taking a deep breath. she knew he was too good to be true, and she didn’t know why she tried to lie to herself.

‘ baby ! ‘ roderick shouted excitedly throughout as he walked through the front door of their apartment. hearing no response, he took a glance around the apartment, noticing adelaide’s car keys, and her jacket still hanging up. her shoes were also thrown by the front door, making rod furrow his eyebrows. ‘ adelaide ? ‘ he questioned in a firm tone, taking a step towards the bedroom. grabbing his bat from behind the side table in the hall, he inched closer to the door. opening it up, he can’t help the horror on his face as he saw the sheets a mess, blood spots on the carpet and it all torn apart. ‘ god, please no.. ‘ quickly searching the room, he saw no sign of adelaide anywhere. hearing his phone ring made him almost jump, grabbing it out of his pocket, quickly answering it. hearing adelaide’s screams on the other end, made a shiver run down roderick’s spine. ‘ adelaide, baby! where are you? i’m coming baby, i’m coming- ‘ he was quickly cut off as a man’s voice came on the line. ‘ roderick sherman.. ex u.s navy seal and now a correctional officer.. ‘ hearing the voice along with the smirk, made roderick’s blood boil. ‘ what a beautiful woman you have under your arm.. too bad her father can’t stay out of trouble or else you guys would have a happy life.. ‘ ‘ listen motherfucker, if you touch her, i will kill you! ‘ hearing a chuckle on the other end, roderick grabbed his keys along with adelaide’s phone which was laying on the floor.

hello to all my mutals. i am so very sorry for going M.I.A ! my daughter ended getting extremely sick and in between working, i was at the hospital a lot. i was rarely home and i didn’t have very much energy to do anything, let alone write. but ! my daughter is finally home now and back to her daily activities, so i’m going to slowly get back into writing. i may continue my threads from a fresh start, but i’m not sure yet. depends on my muse when i go to write !

“give you a call?” azalea asked, feeling bold. “does that mean that you’re going ti give me my phone number?” she asked, looking up at him with her sparkling green-blue eyes. she laughed when he spoke, covering her mouth, shaking her head. “i’m sorry.” she said, “i’m not laughing at you, it’s just… yeah, yes. i’d love to come have a drink with you. when are you off duty? because tonight would be the perfect night for a drink, if you know what i’m saying?” azalea said, gesturing toward the house that was now nothing but smoldering rubble on the ground. even the ash had seemed to give up and was black and smoking with with ash instead of red embers. azalea looked up at him with a smile that she hoped conveyed how much she found him to be charming and nice to be around. even despite the tragedy that had just occurred. “8? sure. that’s only a few hours from now. i can’t wait to see you.” she said, and she watched him as he ran off.

zaley got into her car and drove to a friend’s house. luckily that friend had some clothes she could borrow and she took a shower and relayed everything that had happened  before deciding to leave and show up at the station house just a few minutes after 8. she beeped her horn and leaned out the car window with a broad wave. “benny! hi, hello.”

it had been slow day in terms of benny’s job. there were a few emergencies and couple fires, but other than that, nothing to ride home about. he was now back at the station, changing into his regular clothes, which consisted of jeans, a black button up and a black leather jacket. hearing a horn, he made his way out of the common room, seeing azalea in her car waving at him. chuckling softly, he waved back as he grabbed his wallet and bag, saying goodbye to his crew as he headed over to the car. ‘ well, hi there.. ‘ he slid into the passenger seat as he looked over at her. ‘ how was your last few hours? ‘ he asked, leaning over to give her a small side hug, given that room was constricted in the car. ‘ we can go ahead and head to my place, and then we’ll take my bike to dinner, if that’s okay with you? ‘ he asked, looking over at the woman. ‘ you look beautiful, by the way.. you clean up nice for a woman who had limited time and options.. ‘ he frowned at the last comment, looking at her apologetically.

the sound of loud strides and shouting behind her made panic rise in phoebe’s chest. fumbling with her pockets, she grabbed the key out of her pocket but it was too late.. a man was towering over her as the other shoved her to the ground. ‘ please, please.. i don’t have anything.. ‘ she put her hands up as she felt the tears fall down her face. all she heard was that this wasn’t about her, and then all the sudden, she felt a fist connect with her face. her body went limp as she felt blow after blow, feeling the blood start to drip from her face. feeling her body being jerked up, she momentarily opened her eyes the best she could. ‘ tell your new friend that we’re looking for him, and this is just a warning.. ‘ she felt her body hit the cold concrete, letting out a small whimper. after a few minutes of laying there with no help, phoebe used all her strength to pull herself up and push her way into the room. falling onto the bed, she pulled herself up towards the headboard in a sitting position. just as she was comfortable, the door opened with logan staring at her. feeling his hands on her face, she can’t help the small wince that came from her lips. ‘ it was two guys.. and i think they were looking for you.. ‘ she whispered, pushing his hands gently. ‘ they said to tell my new friend that they are looking for him, and it was just a warning, whatever that means.. ‘

even as they walked together out of the party, when people asked desmond where they were going, he shrugged his shoulders truthfully. he had no idea. not that it mattered, he would have followed erykuh anywhere.

once outside and at his car, he was surprised when she pulled him in for a kiss, but he went all in, running his tongue against her lips, getting a taste of her lip gloss. when she pulled away, he looked at her with his pupils wide and his heart beating rapidly. “alright, yeah.” he said, hitting the unlock button on his keys beofre opening the door for her. “your chariot awaits, princess.” after she got into the car, he got into the other side and turned it on, pulling out onto the street. as soon as they were a few blocks away from the party, he turned to look at erykuh. “where do you want to go? your choice.”

the feeling of his lips against hers made a fire light within her that she had never felt before. she couldn’t help the giggle that left her lips as she slid into the vehicle. ‘ let’s just go.. drive until we’re far far away.. ‘ she whispered, undoing her seat belt to lean over closer to him, pressing her lips against his jaw. ‘ as long as i’m with you, i don’t care.. ‘ she ran her hand across his chest, pulling him into a short kiss as they stopped at a light. ‘ or if you want something closer and still just as fun, we could always go back to my place.. i have a pool, drinks, bud.. ‘ she sat back in her seat, clicking her seat belt in once more. ‘ but if i’m honest, the way i’m feeling right now, i kind of just wanna go back to my place. ‘ she admitted, glancing over at desmond as she chewed on her bottom lip.

it was nice, nevada thought, to see maverick watching him. it made him want to dance better, to be more seductive, and damn if that didn’t get more money thrown on the stage for him. after his set, he had a break before the next one, and he spent the time daydreaming about what might happen between him and mav. maybe he wouldn’t have to leave town so soon. maybe he could stay in the city for longer, maverick might be able to protect him… at the end of his shift, he sent mav a text and mav had an uber sent for him immediately. he rode in relative silence until arriving at maverick’s place, greeted with a hi, darling, it’s a wonder nevada didn’t melt on the spot. “hello.” he replied, his voice smooth to belie the nerves he felt bubbling up in him like a hot spring. he wrapped his arms around maverick in kind and gave him a squeeze, turning his face so that his lips would hit the corner of the other man’s mouth. “it was good. fruitful.” he laughed lightly then, disentangling himself from the older male. “oh? and what have you made for dinner, maverick? i didn’t realize you were a chef.”

‘ i wouldn’t say i’m a chef.. ‘ he chuckled, guiding him into his apartment before he made his way to the kitchen. ‘ i’m making some steak and aspargus, with some form of potato, ‘ he chuckled softly as he pointed at the bag of uncooked potatos. ‘ wasn’t sure if you liked baked or mashed so i wanted to let you decide. and i just opened a bottle of red wine, but i can grab a bottle of white if you’d prefer. ‘ rambling on, maverick let out a nervous chuckle, running his hand through his hair. ‘ and if you’d like to clean up before dinner, i want ahead and got you some clothes in the room. i didn’t know what you like, so i just got some clothes of mine.. ‘ he pointed in the direction of his master bedroom. ‘ not that you have to feel obligated to stay, i just.. ‘ he trailed on, shrugging his shoulders slightly with an almost shy smile on his face. get it together maverick. this is not you. you are not some hopeless lover boy.

adelaide frowned, saddened to hear roderick say that he was lost ever since leaving the corps. she heard that that was common, that that was part of the reason why so many vets ended up on the streets, but she didn’t want that for him. she wanted better. she knew he was worth so much more. “aw, babe.” she said, rubbing her nose against his as her hands trailed up his back, one finding the back of his neck, her fingernails just grazing ever so gently across the skin there. “maybe you should talk to someone? i have a really good therapist i talk to about all my shit. it might help.” she leaned in then, kissing him softly. “you’ve never let me down. don’t worry about that. i just want what’s best for you.”

feeling her nails on the back of his neck immediately made goosebumps start to form on his skin, his hands coming down to grip her hips tighter. ‘ they have meetings for vets down at the church.. maybe i’ll swing by and see what it’s about.. ‘ he pulled her closer as she kissed him softly, his hands running across her lower back. ‘ i’ll always worry about letting you down, baby.. your opinion and how you feel about me matters more than anything else in this world.. ‘ he pulled her even closer, if that was possible, pressing a small kiss to her forehead. ‘ you’re all i got.. ‘ he buried his face in her neck, breathing in her scent, letting it calm his mind before he pulled back to lay his forehead on hers. ‘ i missed you so much today. ‘ he pressed a firm but soft kiss to her lips, leaning down to scoop the back of her legs, lifting her up. ‘ let me show you how much.. ‘ he began the walk back to the room as their lips tangled together.

logan took the remote and waited until the duvet was pulled back before sitting in the space beside her, leaving enough room so that she might feel comfortable. “alright, sounds like a fair trade.” he said and he scrolled until he found a channel that was playing jeopardy! reruns, and he selected that. “hope you don’t mind. i’ve always been a fan of trivia.” he set the remote down then settled against the headboard of the bed, looking at her curiously as she spoke. “what makes you think you’re not a viable woman?” he asked. from where he was standing, she was a beautiful damsel in distress. what better way for them to make a connection? besides, he had his own seedy past littered with times of logan sleeping on the streets. but now, he thought, wasn’t the time to reveal that. “i like being here… with you. you’re just going through a hard time, phoebe… it’s alright to need help every now and again.”

‘ i just mean, i’m not a put together woman right now, is all.. there’s plenty of woman that you could have or spend time with, who don’t constantly need your help.. ‘ she shrugged as she looked over at the man next to her. hearing him say that he enjoys being with her, made a smile come to her face. ‘ i like you being here too.. ‘ she leaned her head on his shoulder, giving his arm a small squeeze. ‘ i just was with roger for so long, and in the end it felt like it was all fake.. so right now, it’s hard to believe that someone as genuine as you would want to spend time with me. ‘ she looked up at him once again, grabbing his hand. ‘ i promise i’ll work on not doubting myself.. ‘ giving his hand a small squeeze, she laid it back down on his lap before turning her attention to the tv shortly.

millie had been waiting at home all day long for nico to return. it was a tuesday night, so she didn’t have to be at the club. opening up a bottle of wine, she grabbed two glasses, when she heard the front door open. suddenly, she couldn’t contain the happiness and excitement to see her man. ‘ i’ve just missed you is all.. ‘ she smiled, sighing in relief as she embraced him. it had been a long day for millie, due to her mother giving her a call to discuss her relationship. ‘ my mother called today.. ‘ she whispered against his chest as she stood in his arms. ‘ she’s not very happy, and apparently, my sister will be in town sometime this week.. ‘ millie caught herself looking up to read his reaction. it was his ex-wife after all. even she’s not naive enough to think he wouldn’t care.
