#cleopatra with the nose knocked off. I wonder if people still think she was European like the movies betray…
I still think it’s one of the most desperate things whites have done to blacks and to black history. The disrespect is outrageous. They came to our country and mentally could not fathom how these black civilizations could be so great. They literally rode through our lands and shot the noses off of our statues. Why? So that the statues would no longer resemble the African people and they could LIE about the origins of Egypt and countless other civilizations. It was a widespread practice. It’s why statues of Pharaoh’s and their wives have no noses. It’s why the Sphinx has no nose. When I was in middle and high school, we were taught that the noses had fell off due to time and poor craftsmanship! They have literally tried to teach us that our ancestors were shitty builders of noses just to hide their malicious destruction of our heritage. European fears of African peoples had to come from somewhere. I want to know what part of the history is missing. There’s something that they don’t want to be told.
The shade is real
i was taught that the noses fell off as well and actually continued to believe this. in retrospect this makes no sense, considering greek/roman statues pretty much always have intact noses whereas egyptian ones are always conveniently missing theirs. thank you for pointing this out to me, i hadn’t even made that connection until now.
I was taught that as well. Once again, Tumblr educates me where educational institutions have failed/purposefully deceived. That’s horrible. :(
You could tell tumblr gullible is written on the ceiling and ´nobody would check.
- noses are the only part of the face that sticks out, meaning that if a statue falls over onto the face, that’s the part likely going to break. It also makes it it the most vulnerable part for erosion (be it by water wind or sand). Same goes for anything standing out, you may check all those greek statues for fingers and such at your leisure. Hell there are statues in the local baroque garden that have broken off fingers and they’re no 400 years old. Time and weather will do this to small, stick-out bits.
- You know who regularly went around chiseling the face of pharaohs out of stone? People ordered by new pharaohs. Do you wanna guess which skin color these people had? (hint: not white). Why? Because publicity. Sometimes also because defacing the statues/monuments had a symbolic aspect of destroying the memory of said person, and hence their eternal life (please compare what pharaoh Horemhab did to monuments of pharaoh Akhenaten).
- it’s not like greek or roman states came out of this unscathed. Two of the most famous statues are majorly damaged. I mean, the Nike of Samothrace has no head, and already had no head when it was found because the neck, like the arms is a frail point on a statue and thus can easily break of. Also the reason why the other really famous greek statue, the Venus of Milo (yes i know it should be Aphrodite, but that’s what she’s called, i didn’t pick it) has no arms. They simply broke off.
- oh, and the thing about the sphinx. You know when she was already missing that nose? In the 14th century. Allow me to quote a thing:
The Arab historian al-Maqrīzī, writing in the 15th century, attributes the loss of the nose to iconoclasm by Muhammad Sa'im al-Dahr, a Sufi Muslim from the khanqah of Sa'id al-Su'ada. In AD 1378, upon finding the local peasants making offerings to the Sphinx in the hope of increasing their harvest, Sa'im al-Dahr was so outraged that he destroyed the nose, and was hanged for vandalism.[32]
So, you know…. not white people. Not white people by a faaaaaaaaaaar call. So how about all of you hit google for like 5 minutes (literally, type in ‘sphinx missing nose’) before getting your self-righteous fury online.
what the hell is going on in this country?!
Well damn
Shit has been bad for a while
Right so this lady was smart, if you’re ever in a sedan-style trunk there’s a little pull tab that you can use to get yourself out that is STANDARD in cars built after 2001. It’s the law just like headlights and seatbelts.
if you are in an SUV style vehicle or newer model car you may be able to find the automatic trunk release wire, pull on it, it will pop the trunk
if you can’t find any of that stuff, look for the brake light housing. You will need to pull back the trunk carpeting and feel about. It’s probably bolted in, but some careful wiggling will dislodge it. If people see a goddamn arm waving out of a hole in a car while they poke along I-95 they likely will do something about it
